    All good accept you need to push ac from inside out, that way it will take original position and tilted down. It will never fall off,You don't have to cut metal brackets. 1. Cut the hole with template 2. Stick Ac from inside all the way till it stops against metal brackets 3. Screw it down 4.Seal 5.Connect 6.

    man really good job
    my bunk ac is broken and i have 3500w generator and inverter in truck
    so i wanted a window ac but was worried about cutting metal of truck and messing up dimensions
    after seeing you do it, i will do it this weekend and do it properly. did you put silicone or something from outside as well?
    also, does that support thing hold during drives and bumpy roads, hills, hard braking ?

      Yes didnt have a problem out of it. Use Flex seal product. You won't have any leaks

    The house appliances will work but not as long as truck battery AC system. 6+ months and they'll get dystroyed from vibrations.

      @@bkmninja6882 just buy yourself an inverter generator at Harbor Freight. That well work get a 3500watts and u well be fine. you can put feel once every 2 days and you don't got to worry about turning on your truck and charging up your batteries

      I did the same thing on my truck but two weeks later the vibration mess up the ac compresor line .

    Nice cut out job, that looks like a nice fit! I'm just worried that those air conditioners Were Meant to go in a window and not be bounced around all over the roads, I'm afraid of might only last a couple of weeks before it breaks

      They'll usually be fine, if not pitch it and get another, they are dirt cheap.

      I'm running a generator when I'm parked. When I'm driving I'm running a 3000 watt inverter

    Hi. Good job you did. May I ask what power source you used for that AC, an inverter? If so what brand and how many voltages? And if so why not use a generator to keep from draining from your batteries? Thanks You.

      I use a 3000 watt inverter. And I just added a generator. I just a video on it last week. Adding the generator

    You could use a mini split they are very efficient as energy wise. A LG or pioneer 9000btu will use less than half what that window ac needs to run .

    Next time use clear silicone and hvac foil tape but you did decent job for DYI
    I can’t compare to how I would have done it because I’m engineer and love to weld

    Good video. I like the intro. Check out mines. I have a mini-split a/c. I started off with a 7000 btu portable like the one you was using too. Are you powering your a/c with your truck? If so you should get a generator.

      I use a grinder with a metal cutting saw blade. Cause there is some metal behind the fiberglass wall

      Yes I keep it in for the winter. I just put a a.c. outside cover over it for the winter. You can buy them at Walmart

      They do Jill. I had my fix when it was cold and it mess up 2 weeks later. Cost me 1300.00 So I wasn't spending all that again. So this was the cheapest way. And these trucks are bad for having ac problems

      D.o.t. doesn't look at a/c modifications....they look at brakes/lights/mechanical/windshield/suspension/tires/wipers/5th wheel/frame/engine/mirrors/wipers.......he can set up a sound system, run interior l.e.d.s, out in a waterbed...d.o.t. won't care ....make sense ?

      @@bkmninja6882 hey man my ac in the sleeper is not working only the front do you drive with that portable unit of ur invertor? if so has DOT said anything? and does it work good, i got like a 2000watt inverter , im wondering if i could do that. or maybe connect the hose to the sleeper window. i have one of those that are not real windows just a cover on the sleeper which you can push to either side.
      do u have any ideas on what i could do? i bought a 3600 watt generator, and a 5000 btu window ac kinda like urs. but i was thinking on the portable one while driving, since i dont have a back window, and we cant cut the back of the truck haha.

      @@TryMeFoolYT I run mines all the time. My AC doesn't work in the truck. I'm running A 3000 watt inverter when I'm driving and a 4400 generator when I'm park. Never had a problem so far with DOT saying anything about it when I've gotten DOT
