As a Romanian, I am pleased to see the RDL very well executed, with wide grip, as originally intended as a auxiliary for the Olympic snatch lift, by its "inventor", Romanian lifter and world and Olympic gold medalist Nicu Vlad, a snatch specialist. He still have the heaviest-ever snatch of double-bodyweight, lifting 200.5kg in the 100kg class.
She calls it “hook grip” but is doing an overhand thumbless grip. She’s also forcing herself to go way further than what’s needed which is why her lower back is rounding. Glad to see that Matt came in and touched on this.
@@jamesdaniels5379 Sure, that’s why they literally corrected her mid video. Not everyone knows everything regardless of what channel they’re on and I don’t claim to know everything either. I was simply making a validated observation. She also doesn’t know what a proper hook grip is so I wouldn’t take her word as gospel just because she’s on Elite FTS’s YT for a few videos. She’s not the first person to be wrong on a major channel and she won’t be the last.
I just noticed the same...from the moment she had to 'lean' into it, taking here left leg up, she started rotating the upper body and lost her balance. You would expect that, direct feedback of a wrong executed exercise, should lead to a direct change of handplacement and posture settings 🤔
@@ShaneTumminello for real! I appreciate the knowledge, but he just doesn't know as much as the other guys, at least to me. But then again there's people that don't know anything about fitness so I get it.
I’ve done a DB RDL with a hip circle on and a band under my feet and over my neck. The hip circle keep my hips activated lol he entire time and the band just makes you hate your life more
Thank you!! Also do you Have a video on how to squat with a cambered bar? How to start with that bar, benefits, how often, why and picking right weight (cause i guess it gets heavier in a way with this bar...?) My gym just got one and I really want to try it out but do not know how to.
Would gripping with the inboard hand use the weight to help push down the inboard hip and keep it squared to the floor? Maybe gripping with the outboard hand puts the weight more over the standing leg, leaving the inboard hip less weighted and more likely to elevate?

Landmine RDL excellent breakdown. Thanks!
I appreciate these as something home gym goers can do. Thanks for the new movements
The landmine single-RDL is **chef's kiss**
Perfect for stability issues
Great cue about movement being over when you cant drive hips back any further. Thank yall

Dang, Jillian from Workaholics looks pretty jacked these days!
Britt used the wrong arm to hold the bar in the last variation. I'm surprised Matt didn't catch that.

Cuz this dude don't know shit, I hate when they put this dude to talk
I realized it halfway through. We shot a lot of videos this day. Doesn't really change what's being worked, so not a big deal.

Tongue on the roof of your mouth; that is so interesting as I was instructed long ago to do the same to gain balance in martial arts movements...

search "cambered bar elitefts" and you should find one!
As someone that is up in the age bracket a bit, I appreciate these little tricks to improve my balance. Cheers.

What does the snatch grip RDL add compared to just a regular grip RDL?
Not much lower body wise
It makes the traps and upper back work harder
It's harder on the traps and upper back
Love the barbell variation, someone with limited space so don't have many dumbbells this can help a lot!!!
Excellent!!!
I was going to ask what’s an RDL but I was afraid of getting roasted here 😂
Just looking at this dislocated my discs😟
