I got the Indian Ocean in Miami no wait, and first day I wore it at work received numerous compliments from non watch enthusiasts , I had to explain what it was. But some people like the strap and others the dial. I don’t care if it’s a toy, I really had fun wearing it, that what counts in my book plus I can’t afford 15k for a real one
I'm aiming to get the Atlantic or Antarctic at the Miami store. Do you think lining up half an hour before opening should be enough or do I need to be there even earlier?
@@zakisarker I literally went around 1pm no wait time, walked right in and they had 2 Indian oceans. Either nobody want the watches or they learned their lesson and have more stock. Either way is good

A happy meal watch on steroids. Swatch benefits the most. Their Boutiques were empty before the MoonSwatch. Nobody waited in line for a cheap Swatch. Now they do. These collabs saved Swatch Watch from oblivion. Seriously 😎

Saved them? Only people scooping them up are resellers. These collaborations are only good so many times before people are fed up with it. Omega/Blancpain lol two brands ill never consider purchasing in the future now that they’ve associated themselves with a kids toys.

No, I don’t think so. Quite the contrary, I think it places a light on the brand which is much needed.
Blancpain is not your social media collector type of watch. Only people that have been in the game for a while will notice a Blancpain. It’s sort of sad, because my Blancpain keeps better time and feels just as rugged as any my Rolex pieces.
Well I strongly doubt the one's who drop 400$ on a Swatch Fifty fathoms is going to go dish out 15k for a real Blancpain fifty fathoms. The gap is way too big it's unrealistic the only one's I see making $ on this deal is Swatch

The AP is badass imo. These watches are a waste of money but then again, it allows watch people with a tight budget to enjoy the look of that watch minus the quality

This is good for the watch industry as a whole. It draws in big interest and gives entry level collectors a chance to get a decent piece. Before this collab NO ONE would talk about Blancpain let alone see wearing one, so it’s a win for everyone. I’d say it’s better than hearing about some ultra exclusive Patek or Rolex that 99.9% of people won’t even get to see.
Lets all remember what this hobby its about, we are collectors dont take this too serious.
If Swatch does an AP collab you guys can have my Jumbo and 43 offshore.

Im happy if even just 10 Americans buy it in cash, instead use their funking debit card to buy anything they cannot afford, like a real Blancpain, , and so, creates a funking debt, that the entire world has to pay for!!
I bought mine in Dallas. I had gotten up early to see all the hype and any potential chaos. I had no intentions of buying one. When I got there, I realized I was one of the first 50 so I said “why not?” Why not be part of the experience. When you are a watch enthusiast/collector, why would I get a conservative color like blue or white? Swatch is about fun and colors. So I picked the green Indian Ocean. Are the watches overpriced? Yes, however it’s a better watch than the moonswatch. Breguet maybe the next collab. All the best.
Allegedly Speedy sales did benefit from the collab; I don’t see that with this offering. I respect Blancpain’s contribution to the watch game back in the day - but actually thought you might say this Eric - their 50 fathoms pricing today is sadly just out of whack with their place in the Diver game. If most watch guys bought a 50 and 2 weeks later got ‘the call’ for. Sub, they’re selling the 50, getting the Sub and pocketing the difference.
I think it appeals to a certain audience and i find it bold as well. Why not. I won’t buy one though.
