OMG thank you so much! I’m only 12 years old and I made this for my best friend because she’s coming back after 1 month and tomorrow she’s coming home I can’t wait to meet her again and give this thank you!!!!!
Thank you! These teddys are beautiful. I’m going to make as many of them as possible. I want to send them to children in Ukraine. I hope it’ll make them happy
@@RooneySewingPatterns Thank you it’s really nothing. Ukraine is one state away from my country I’m anxious. They don’t deserve it. There’s limited thing I can do so I’m trying to help
Thank you for sharing. I haven't seen anything in over 48 years. Just started sewing again. Want to make a bear out of cotton for my new Granddaughter coming in January. I think from this pattern will be able to do it. Look forward to other projects from you too.
I bought this pattern last week and I’m hoping to start on it today! Thank you so much for all the helpful tutorials on your page. I’m going to try and experiment with some plastic safety eyes and a nose. Let’s hope it goes well lol. I really appreciate your calm approach to sewing. Much less intimidating than the sewing lessons I’ve had in the past. 🙃 I am excited to make this bear for my baby boy due in October!
I just found your site and love it. I’m so encouraged and inspired. I come from a quilting background with tons of color but I dress in much more solid plain colors. I also sew some of my own clothes, plus I make bags for my knitting and gift bags and cloth boxes. Thanks for sharing the Isee company. Keep up the great work. Love your scrap ideas too. Thanks
I just purchased your pattern and am so excited to try this! Question - did you sew the lines on the extremities to create those lines? In the bear you showed it looks like there are indents for arms legs and ears, I want to make sure I achieve the same look. Thank you!
Yes! I went in and sewed across the arms and legs to create more definition as well as wrap yarn around the neck tightly to create that definition! If you are having trouble doing it with your machine, hand sewing across the extremities will work well too!
Sorry I have one more question. It says I need 1/4 yard of fabric I like to have extra does that include extra? Also if I’m just making one do I need a 30 ounce of pollyfill or can I get less?
I am a guy and want to make a bear for each of my grandchildren. (only have one so far) I have never really sewn anything before except as a wee kid my mom would let me use her machine on a scrap piece of cloth to try it out for fun. As much as I know almost nothing of sewing with what I have learned so far I think it would be good advice to use the Jim Henson stitch on the stuffing hole. Makes a clean invisible seam when done. That is a cute little bear but I am aiming for one that is around 20 inches tall. I am a perfectionist when it comes to work that I do so I figure if I can build houses and race cars I should be able to handle a few bears. I hope I don't have to eat my words! Thanks for sharing your video. What an adorable little one and she looks so much like mommy.
I told my husband if he could use things like table saws and drill presses etc., he could use a sewing machine. He just hems and patches but I think he could figure out simple crafts like this with no trouble.
I have one question. So for the front of the bear do I sew from the top of the head to the top of the leg? And the the second half of the bear sew from to top of the head to the start of the stomach? Then sew along the perimeter?
Thank you so much I’m using this to help me make a teddy bear out of my grandpas shirts he j passed some I’m making 3 one for me my mom and my grandma❤️❤️❤️
Hi I bought the plans! I was just curious when you say you that you can sew across the legs and arms to make more prominent...how would you do that exactly? Thanks for the help. Can't wait to start this project
Hey Gabrielle! Great question - this is totally optional but you can do it like this: 1. Stuff the legs with the filling and then take the bear to the sewing machine. 2. Top stitch across the leg from one side to the other side below the stomach of the bear. Make sure the thread is a matching color. 3. Do this for the arms as well. You’re just stitching on top of the arms and legs so that it gives definition. 4. Finish filling the rest of the bear. If this is more confusing, I can totally email you a photo!
@@RooneySewingPatterns Awesome thank you so much! It makes sense but can you still email me a photo. It would help so much, I'm a visual person. Thank you!
Hi! I’m about to start making this teddy bear but I’m stuck with the beginning logistics. I’m new to steaming so bear with me lol. I’m not sure what type of need to use with a faux Sherpa? Also should I use a specific type of thread, thread tension, thread length, and what type of sewing stitch? Sorry for all the questions
This is really cute, but I don’t know what to say to do the bear when I’m so in this because I’m literally doing it right now and I’m trying to figure out what shape the better I should do because you said is linked below but on see it
Yes!! You’ll want to choose the correct needle for your fabric. So if it’s a thicker fabric you’ll use a stronger, sharper needle. If it’s cotton fabric, you can use a normal hand sewing needle. ☺️
Hi Leah, Yes! You can hand sew anything :) Just make sure you have a sharp enough needle for the fabric you are using and practice doing a straight stitch by hand. I'm sure with a project this small it wouldn't take much time...and may be more relaxing to sit down and sew by hand!
I'm a super beginner, my 3rd sewing project. I'm making these matching bears for my two girls for Christmas. What settings should my sewing machine be on?
Thanks for replying! Im using like a soft Sherpa-y furry lol idk. I actually asked a friend though and used some of the leftover fabric to test it out and figured it out! Got one of them all sewn and rightside out- very forgiving for mistakes 😅
@Judy just size up the pattern and use that to cut out the pieces. If you use a printer you may have to use multiple pieces of paper then tape the pieces together.
