    A great simple way to show newer golfers the trajectory of their club choice when they're under trees, is to lie that club on the ground face up, with the grip pointing to the target. Then simply press your foot on the club face. The shaft will rise up pointing out the exact shot trajectory for that loft.

      Once achieving their goal, the Playa's confidence level reaches critical mass. The mindset goes from "Can I and Will I?" to "I can and I will". Every bad shot is a lesson and how you bounce back from a bad shot is what separates the Hacker from the Playa. Keep it stress free, take it every shot at a time.

I've broken 90 before but not at somewhere I'd consider to be tough enough to warrant being as happy as I am today. Tried to take a lot of the lessons from your videos onto the course today, along with a better gripping technique and I shot an 89 and saw the glimpses of what's coming down the road too. Broke the course down into 6, 3 hole courses, used the play/think box and generally tried to be happy with the game even if I hit a bad shot. Thanks again

    00:30 is a perfect example of making good choices on the course. My first league golf match of the year I was in the rough and needed to hit a low shot under a tree limb but over a marsh for my approach shot on a par 5. I chose to punch out to the side instead and ended up making par. The next week I ended up in the same position but tried to hit that crazy shot and ended up with a 9. I went from hero one week to zero the next!

    • @tedzink4574
      @tedzink4574 Год назад

      Exactly. That 4 over on one hole trashes your round, pushes you over 80, 90, or 100 quickly. Really eliminates any wiggle room, whereas Going 1over on each of 4 holes combined with a couple/few pars gives you a fighting chance at a good score for you. Good analysis of the process and hero shot attempts can hurt your score.

    Great video - he's almost exactly where I'm at .... followed Break 100 (and had lessons) ... last four rounds all under 100 and focusing on the same "reducing shots under 100". Got myself a new CBX2 56 degree to replace a worn out and unreliable Vokey. Worked like magic and is going to be my go-to club for anything from chips (that aren't a 9i chip and run) up to 100 yards. I can't describe the reduced stress of having a wedge I trust myself with. Pitch shots stopped on a dime and I realized I do have good distance control from 30-70 yards.

That tip immediately took 5 strokes off of my game. I noticed sometimes your head is moving toward the hole even before the putter hits the ball. I'm no pro, but I hope this will help your game.

    Helped me tremendously, short par 4s so I do pull driver but I have a plan, I’m like if I go short I’m 2 more shots in anyways just keep it in bounds. If I have to punch out so be it because I’m hitting 2 more shots to reach anyways. But the good drive gives me a chance and the bad one is still on par. Unless I’m hooking it, then it’s going back in the bag

    Baus material here indeed! Playing next Friday at a big boy course Matt, I've already got an old scorecard and written in my new 'pars' to get under 90. Just need to use my brain for the full round, stupidity is sometimes my issue! Great vlog my boyfriend!

    i'm most impressed by his long irons. I can break 80 and still manage to duff 4/5 irons or hit em an 8 iron distance way more often than i'd like to admit

    As me and my baby boy watch "uncle" Matt, wifey says "if he comes to New York, tell him I have places he can stay". Sidenote:. My wife is a property manager in upstate NY. Good for thought, playa!

    I recently won a comp at my local club. I never broke 90 before at the time i was a 20 handicap i shot 84 gross. The one shot that sticks in my mind during that round was on the 10th par 5, 3rd shot i was behind some trees about 75 yards out and instead of going for hero shot over the top with my 56degree i punched a 5 iron low under and rolled up to 10ft of the pin. Made a par and it kept my momentum going

    Julian's swingpath is incredible for such a novice golfer. Looks like he needs to tweak his grip a bit....of course IMHO. Love the positivity.
