I had the same problem, with two different ELM327 Bluetooth adapters. I was able to get it connect to Torque this way. In Settings in Torque click on OBD2 Adapter Settings and try turning on Disable ELM327 auto timing adjust, then exit all the way out of Torque, restart, and it finally connected and worked fine. It's worth a try, it worked for me. If that doesn't work try toggling the other connection parameters in the Settings/OBD2 Adapter Settings screen. Good luck, y'all car nuts!

If it doesn't work you've probably installed a aftermarket radio in your car. This radio puts 12 volt on a black wire in the harness that suppost to have less then 9 volt. Cut this wire and the adapter will work. (k4 wire)

Same with generic cheapo from Lazada (blue clear body same type), it looks like they didnt get all the protocols required to talk to HONDA CITY and NISSAN pickups in the microcode, on Android I tried many popular softwares taking care to re boot and take out and reinsert dongle, blutooth connects but after a long while some software reports missing protocols, ie, the comms interface works but protocols neccesary to talk to ECUs on the CAN bus are missing. I paid 149 Thai Bhat a couple of USD, so sadly in-the-bin. Thank you for your video :-)

sorry to inform you all that OBD II will never connect with many Japan''s Nissan and Toyota vehicles , the OBD II will only connect with the American spec vehicles..... IF you would like to connect to your Japan's vehicles then you would need to purchase a Nissan Consult OBD I adapter (NDS I Bluetooth) or Nissan Consult OBD 2 adapter (NDS I Bluetooth) it depends on which one your vehicle supports
the adapter must be compatible with the specific cars obd2 protocols! every manufacturer uses different ones and most cheap obd2 adapters don't cover many protocols. check with your manufacturer then make sure the obd2 adapter your buying is compatible with the protocol! this is important. the adapter from bafx products covers them all! it's a few more dollars (about 20$). well worth it.
If any one is still having problems with the elm 327 not connecting to ecu install Car Guage pro and use the protocol "14230-4(fast init) it worked for me
They give you a clone ODB2 . For,sure that is clone... It will connect to your cellphone but it cannot read your ECU even to try in other car still same problem.

the elm 327 specially the blue one is just a piece of crap, it works for a couple of months and suddenly it cannot connect to ecu and even worse it's unreadable for the phone

Yeah you need to add the adapt in the torque setting under add obd adapter

It's not an adaptor issue. Same in TDI but 1.8t will connect. Know fault never fixed. Blame the dev
