OBD2 using Torque Pro for Android but Not Working?! Must Watch!!

- Using my Android Phone i installed the Torque Pro to Connect a Bluetooth Adaptor or OBD so i can monitor some information with the ECU of my vehicle, but at first use it did not work due to some settings which i was able to determine the what is needed to correct this problem......my vehicle is a 2002 Hyundai Starex and it is OBD2 compliant but on the Torque Application in order for it to receive the correct data from the ECU via the OBD2 adaptor the Protocol should be set correctly so here are the steps...
Steps:
- Make sure you have the Torque Pro Application installed on your android phone
- Pair the OBD2 adaptor to your Phone Via Bluetooth first
- Once Paired you can launch Torque Pro App
- You should already have a Profile Created for your vehicle in order to set the correct information for the OBD adaptor to communicate with your Torque Pro App
** If not Create a Profile of your Vehicle first **
- On the Main Screen of your Torque Pro enter the settings option and scroll upto the buttom part of the page and look for PREFERED OBD PROTOCOL
- If your not sure which one is the correct Protocol for your Vehicle you contact your car manufacturer to get this information or you can play around with some protocols til you get the rigjt one that has the available features for you to use
- The Protocol will only give you some of the available Sensors base on your ECU or what is being supported from the car manufacturer but it wont change anything on the ECU of your vehicle
Hope this helps......Please Like this Video and Subscribe to help me make some more videos
3:45 to get to the actual fix
Thank you!!
Originally couldn-t get the ELM327 and Torque Pro to read ECU data. Changed the protocol following your suggestion. Its now working and reading data!. (In my case protocol was ISO14230 4 KWP 5bd)
Many thanks
I was having a hard time using it the first time and i was not informes about the protocol needed to set it up so i tried to contact one of my friend who owns a ELM and told me all about it :-) sprrad the word bro! Glad it helped you too :-)
Good day sir. How change the protocol? Thank you sir

Great video. It has helped me know where to adjust the connection protocols in Torque Pro. Will try out. Thanks
Perfect! Thanks for solution! Try to make it shorter and get to the point faster next time.
Thank you, such a blessing. God bless.
You are so welcome

Hi I have a WRX adapter status shows all ticks but still no data on the dials I have tried changing the preferred OBD2 protocol but still not reading any data any help will be appreciated
Are you using the torque pro?and on what device?
Iceberg2016 I am using the the TORQUE PRO and the device is the ELM 327 Mini which is connecting using Bluetooth.. I have a 2005 WRX but any app I buy and connect to the ELM doesn’t read any live data.. could it be that the 2005 doesn’t read live data and I need a USB connector rather than a Bluetooth?
Iv also tried car scanner app. That i can connect to. Ok i can see live data. Bit buggy but atleast i know if i get engine managment i can clear it. Now from this same app i see the protocol its chosen i tried using it in torquepro. Still no luck
Hello i need help ive got a Mazda 3 Axela

@@ZaYed1209 you need to select a protocol in order for your ELM 327 to communicate with the ECU of your car, make sure aswell that the ELM donggle you are using is version 1.5

Everything is connected but the car symbol keeps flashing please help me
Do you an accessory that can be plugged to the OBD port of you car? Double check the version on you donggle of its compatible, there.are 2 versions V1.5 and V2.1
Will work sa innova 2011?
I try but my car still showing, ecu not connected.
you need to take it to a repair shop that has FULL SYSTEM scan to see if the issue is within the OBD port or something else
Sir bakit ayaw mag connect to ecu?

Sir, could you explain in two words, how to connect Toyota avensis 1999 year, 1.8, 7afe ECU to torque pro app, i tryed million times, but with no result. Thanks in advance.
what version of OBD dongle you are using?
Bro ano ang normal coolant temperature reading mo? Umaabot ba ng 95deg C?
Around 72c ang engine operating temperature sa OBD
Hard Habit yan na po yung maximum niya? Mine goes as high as 95deg C during uphill, fully loaded, full blast aircon on a hot summer day. Then goes back down to 85-87
@@TheEqualizer1 yung tunataas pa sya sir hanggang 80degrees kasi 82c lang ang kinabit kong thermostat sa makina
in my case it did not connect to the ECU of the car Hyundai accent 2 , made in 2000 , what shall i do . itried many things , but did not connect .
double check the version ofd the ELM 327 or bluetooth dongle you are using,v1.5 works with older models with OBD port,v2.1 is for latest models only which has more sensors and protocols for connectivity
How do you find the Protocal on my car
unfortunately the Torque App cannot determine or auto scan protocol for your car,you would need to manually select each protocol to see if its the correct one.
@@HardHabitVlogPH Tried it no go
Sad to hear that.
Hey i have the obd2 advanched device for audi A6 2007. I tried full of different apps and none of them were able to connect to the ecu.
There were apps that also tried to automatically find the protocol and failed.
What do you offer? The truth is I did not do what you showed in the video
Most probably the OBD you have does not seem to be compatible with your cars ECU due to its limited protocol option,i suggest get a much advance OBD scanner that a better function instead
How to know the correct protocol?
You may check it here

its not working
What if it not connecting to the ecu
Male sure to follow the process of establishing connectivity of the OBD to your phone before starting the engine to make sure

what yr model is your unit? do you know what is the version of ELM 327 you are using?
@@HardHabitVlogPH same as used in your video. Torque can connect elm but cannot connect to ecu. Even tried all the protocols 1 by 1.
@@HardHabitVlogPHvios 2006 model. Elm version 2.1
@@jbell0124 try this method check on your phone app list and look for the Torque app and go to PERMISSIONS make sure to allow all permission for torque app to function better and then try again.....if this problem persists probably the ELM 327 v2.1 you are using isnt compatible with your car model...btw the dongle im using is a v1.5 and works fine on our 2002 starex
@@HardHabitVlogPH thank you. I think you are correct, maybe v2.1 is not compatible with my car. I have seen another video that says v2.1 has more compatibility issues than v1.5. I have already done setting the permission on my phone and it still didn't connect to my ecu. I also tried other software and it can connect to my ecu but upon checking the available sensors it doesn't show the rpm, temp and other important meter.
I have a fix. This was driving me batshit. After you connect the phone and device, open the app. Go to settings on Torque Pro. Click OBD2 adapter settings. Click Choose Bluetooth Device. Choose the one you are using there. Then you can come back here and congratulate me.
Lol soooooo just connect the device properly ?!
Yes, indeed. It works wonders every time. But the difficulty arises from owning and using other devices, which are just immediate plug and play. Familiarity with these causes one to overlook the fact adjustment may be necessary.
Doesnt work.
Its a scam.
You need to determine the protocol to be used in order for the ELM to communicate with your cars ECU
