Labs apparently no longer exist. Supposedly the dev team pulled the plug on it because they no longer had any interest in keeping up on it. Been trying and found a message from the devs on XDA stating this.

After wasting two days trying to figure out how to link Torque Pro to my Head Unit, someone discoved your video. And, I was able to get it working in my 2020 GLE Mercedes with my Motorola Moto G power (2021) phone.
    GREAT VIDEO, THANKS A LOT.

Brilliant! Worked on my 2020 Tacoma. Had everything set up correctly but it took a few times for the Toyota head unit to display MENU>"Android Auto" rather than "Projection". Comments from @Keith stapleton were spot-on. Get Torque Pro running on your phone, shut the app down. Get Android Auto app connected and working to the head unit, shut the app down. The ODB2 AA will turn on both of those once it connects to the head unit, as Keith mentions.
Turn the key to 'run' position (or start your car), let the Toyota head unit come up, then connect the USB. Phone will ask which app to use and pick ODB2 AA. On the Toyota display, select MENU>"Android Auto". Pick ODB2 AA app and you're rolling. So sweet!

Lol I have the torque app installed on my Android head unit and it seems to run normally aside from the fact I cannot get it to communicate with the damn Bluetooth adapter (even though it shows paired but not connected)... Glad I read your comment before I went through this process shown on the video. Hope that works for me too that would be so much better imo 🤞🙏

It won't directly hurt your car, but you have to be aware that anyone near you can access your car as most OBD2 adapters dont require any interaction for pairing (pressing a button on the adapter, ...). The risk may be low since the ignition needs to be on, but it exists.

Ok it's an obvious mistake when you figure it out. When you first connect the phone to the stereo having loaded the OBD2 AA app it asks for a default app to open, you must select OBD2 AA nor Android Auto (the video tells you this). The way it works is the OBD2 AA app in turns opens android auto and torque pro, hence it needs to be the default. There simple. Bit of a pain that you have to manually open the "stereo driver" in android auto every time you want to use it.
