I have a 2013 Ford Grand C-Max 2,0 TDCI PowerShift that reported in the display in my car that my Tyre-pressure-control system was faulty and that the hill assist didn´t work. I then purchased an ELM327 Bluetooth adapter to check for error codes, and I had the EXACT same problem. It connects with the Android phone but cannot connect and communicate with the ECU of the car. The seller of the adapter told me that once the error code is already there, those models sometimes have trouble connecting to the ECU - but that is a quite funny answer, because most people are actually buying those adapters, coz they have "Check engine"-light on already and want to know what is "broken". The seller now offered me to swap it to an adapter either with WiFi or with USB-connector. I will try with the one with USB-connector and hope it then works. It is quite annoying that there is so much trouble with those OBDII-adapters because now I need to send back the Bluetooth-adapter and wait until the USB-model arrives. And it takes a lot of waiting time every time :-(

the elm 327 specially the blue one is just a piece of crap, it works for a couple of months and suddenly it cannot connect to ecu and even worse it's unreadable for the phone

They give you a clone ODB2 . For,sure that is clone... It will connect to your cellphone but it cannot read your ECU even to try in other car still same problem.

Try an older phone/pad. Usually works for me.

Before buying such devices first of all check your vehicle compatibility in related pages as obdstation.com/obd2-protocols/ or www.obd-codes.com/forums/ etc. All is about protocol,if your car's doesn't supported from such devices the ECU does not recognize it so you are wasting your money and time.

If it doesn't work you've probably installed a aftermarket radio in your car. This radio puts 12 volt on a black wire in the harness that suppost to have less then 9 volt. Cut this wire and the adapter will work. (k4 wire)

Same with generic cheapo from Lazada (blue clear body same type), it looks like they didnt get all the protocols required to talk to HONDA CITY and NISSAN pickups in the microcode, on Android I tried many popular softwares taking care to re boot and take out and reinsert dongle, blutooth connects but after a long while some software reports missing protocols, ie, the comms interface works but protocols neccesary to talk to ECUs on the CAN bus are missing. I paid 149 Thai Bhat a couple of USD, so sadly in-the-bin. Thank you for your video :-)
