This video is a self help video, in hopes to help you clear out MIL code P0451- Evap emission control pressure due to having the Ford Easy Fuel system on your vehicle.
2015 F150, 2.7 twin turbo, 90k miles, light just came on after being parked at the airport for a week. Assumed it was emissions, so I drove it home. Checked the code when I got home. P2450 code, which is usually a gas cap issue (except for the fact I don't have one). Considering the circumstances, I am assuming someone tried siphoning gas while it was parked at the airport. Anyway, I cleared the code when I got home, but there was a second P2450 "permanent code" that I couldn't clear with my OBDLink MX unit. Watched this video... AFTER watching a number of them showing how to avoid spending $600-$800 at a dealer. Figured what the heck... so I jammed the little funnel in there, sprayed some PB Blaster in there, worked the funnel in and out a few times (violently, of course)... Started truck. Code gone. Like someone else said "Nobel Prize Stuff!" THANK YOU for your wisdom mxrider0289. I owe you a beer or two... hell, a case, at least!

@@mxrider0489 Sounds like you've had the same experience with the dealers as I have. Bought my truck new, so I used the dealer for scheduled maintenance. Had them change the cabin air filter... found a small gear in my glove box when I got it home, and the glove box soft-open wasn't working anymore.. Found a RUclips video on changing the filter, and then realized they forced the glove box open and the gear popped out, when they should have un-latched the side limit bar like they were supposed to. I have ignored 2 non-critical recalls so far, because I don't want another dealer ever touching my truck again! BTW - the MIL is still OFF after doing your fix, and a week of driving it!!! Anyway, can I just email you a beer???
@@username-mc7jw yep same experiences for sure! That’s so savage they just yank down on the glove box and don’t even bother fixing it. I’ve seen some krazi stuff come to me straight from the dealer with horror stories. Hey its 2022 we should be able to send virtual beers these days! Especially after the stupid covid outbreak changing our every day life as we know it 🤦🏻
Oh!! This explains why sum1 else video said to put wd40 on the funnel ...1. The concept is that the door is dirty 2. The door isnt clicking shut cuz its dirty... 3 its like fixing a squeeking door 😅
@@thegamingcasper101 Yessir WD 40 does the trick to get those tabs loosened. if that does not work with just the funnel I would try to use a flat head to get the tabs loose. Worst case scenario would be to replace the filler neck with a standard style twist fuel cap and get rid of the EZ-Fuel neck
Yes it does work on this year, make, & model. Have you already sprayed it with WD40? When you say the inner is hard to push past do you mean it won’t go past at all when you try with your finger? Because in that case it sounds like yours is working and your issue might be the Evap Purge valve
That’s a good question. Most of the time for P0453 you have to replace the evap sensor at the top of the fuel tank but there is a small percent chance it can also be caused by a none sealing fuel door or easy fuel cap like in my video. I would try this first then if not it’s time to drop the tank and replace that sensor, I hope this helps 👏🏻
@@mxrider0489 yeah, had a guy at advanced auto clear the code after I changed it and it came back again. Thinking maybe it could be the fuel tank pressure sensor? Seems to be kinda common. What do you think?
@@mxrider0489 it randomly came on the first time , I swung by the auto store, got P0451 and then bought a new purge solenoid. Went away immediately and then came back a day or two later. Same code
@@austinkindle2389 at this point if you already changed the purge valve then my next step would be to change the fuel pressure sensor because I doubt your sending unit is giving you the problems

The code is P144c and this video is genius. The dealerships make 600$ off this shitty little code and the resultant check engine light.

Yessir it should stay locked to prevent a small evap system leak. The WD 40 works great to loosen yo a sticky flap 🤘🏻

Did you already spray it with WD 40? There is a good chance the tabs are a little seized up from being stuck in the unlock position

It can solve that code but if it does not you will need to replace your Evap pressure sensor
P0451 code on a 2012 f150 5.0, changed the purge solenoid and tried this but it’s still there?
Did you clear the code with an OBD reader after doing this and replacing the purge solenoid valve?
