Schiff is one of my favorite pianista amazing guy love you ❤❤❤
Every time I watch Schiff perform, I’m struck by the sheer economy of movement. Such an expansive sound with such an economy of movement.
Queste Variazioni sono un capolavoro assoluto ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962 Grazie
The very last piece of the music Schumann wrote. It is somewhat oversimplifying, but to quote the cellist Steven Isserlis, this is not the "public Schumann" but the subtle, inward looking, and fragile Schumann. And that explains why this music has some special place in my love of the composer.
So many wonderful things about this piece, this pianist, this piano, this performance, this setting…. I love that despite all that, the piano cover is unceremoniously dumped in a heap in the background.
Thank you very much for uploading this video. I love this work by Schumann, I find it very moving. It is nice to hear it played by the great Schiff!
Absolutely wonderful!!!
So eine gefühlvolle und spezielle Wiedergabe seiner Komposition hätte sich Robert Schumann sicher auch einmal gewünscht. ❤
Thank you for this very beautiful rendering of the Geistervariationen. Seeing András Schiff play adds immeasurably to the joy of hearing him.
Thank you for these somehow rare videos.
Absolutely superb- a great work and such a rich and nuanced interpretation.

Magnífica interpretación del maestro, también quiero hacer notar la gran calidad del Piano!!!Magnifico Resultado Bravoooo
Belissimo amei
This piano has a very interesting timbre.
Because it's a Bosendorfer
@@mikepen3477 it has a strange tone, BEING A BOSENDORFER
Sounds almost like a Steinway in the up registrers and a straight strung piano in the lower registers
He likes that kind of the Piano more than other
It reminds me sonata 32. Devine.
👏👏👏

This is a very intellectual work. The second variation has two simultaneous lines.
Dictated by ghosts - at least this is what Schumann himself claimed...

I always thought that this piece should be played and reflected on in a pianist's home. I thought he was in the same mindset. Apparently not. :) And applauding: Wozu?
no matter the intent of the compositions... string quartets are still being played in concert halls despite it being chamber music and bachs inventions are being played on a piano that bach didnt have in mind and are meant for beginner musicians to learn from so who cares really
Ich glaube moeglicherweise zu einer fabelhafte Rendition
4:20 Let’s speed up this piece😁
Such an untypical work - Schumann reduced to his essence.
not bad for a Boesendorffer, but here's proof that there's nothing wrong with a big Steinway
