    Kudos on another great video with such superb editing from the comparison photos! The lightbulb sound effect was indeed a pleasant surprise!
    I 100% agree with you: fit is king, for sure! I also find that I prefer the look of the 618 over the 519 from its inclusion of the upper collar snaps. It just feels like a more well rounded and complete look to my eyes.

      Thanks Trent! Experimenting with adding more sounds and interesting effects. At some point i will need to find someone to do the editing for me, it’s so time consuming! And good point, aside from the fit, 618 is more “the real deal” if that’s what you’re looking for

    Great video, glad someone finally referenced ALL their relevant size stats! After looking at a lot of online videos and web sites I was even more confused and unsure of what size and style I needed in a Schott Perfecto. I ride so wanted this jacket for the bike. Didn't realize there was a Schott Jacket stockist near me in Sydney. I was able to actually try on a few styles and sizes. In the end saved me making a bad decision regarding size and style. FYI, I'm 177cm, 76kg and a 104cm or 41" chest. I found a size 42 in the Perfecto 618 was great for me, happy to support a local bricks and Mortar store as well...

      @@rodneymcqueen1706 so nice to be able to try the fit before buying. In my recent size advice video I did stick with just chest measurement as a starting point. Though obviously everything does matter when you’re looking for something “just right”. Also being able to purchase in person saved you some killer shipping costs!

    Great video as always😊 Being 6’2 the 618 is way to short for me. The same with 613 and the standard 118 wich also is to bulky. 613s is an option as well, but i find the 519 as the best perfecto for me. The standard Schott biker jackets are really not made for taller guys. 519 is perfect, while i wish i could wear 618 as well. I also have Schott Per70 wich also fits great and are about the same fit as the 519. Im glad Schott making jackets for us taller guys as well 😅

    Great comparison Del! The 519 just came up on Reddit yesterday and I was a bit stumped just how much it deviated from the standard perfecto pattern.
    My two major takeaways here are the 519 is designed to be worn open and it probably won’t look well proportioned on someone shorter than about 6’

    As I am comparatively tall, I would opt for the 519. The short cut of the 618 would just look too short on me and wouldn't look good.
    In the end, I got a 118 in the longer version and I think it's perfect.

      Oh wow, the long 118. That’s a long jacket!

  • @AndresCuervoArt
    @AndresCuervoArt 3 месяца назад +1

    The 519 has a very nice feature that the 618 and 613 should have it’s the snap on the belt that’s a huge feature to not scratch your gas tank. On the other hand the 519 is too long and slim on the waist so it lays on top of belt of the jeans and it’s very difficult to zip it up let alone ride in it it should be shorter… also the leather loses color on the sun that’s a bit ch and it looks kinda weird graish

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  3 месяца назад +1

      I think they do the snap on 519 because the buckle is a little bigger. But yeah, I do like that snap. And as for length, I agree. Unless you’re pretty tall it seems made to go past your belt, my guess for folks who wear untucked shirts?

  • @o.p.8461

    Sorry to ask, but was it really a 519? The 519 in your vdeo has a "un-patterned" lining, a flat lining - like a 626VN - but the pictures on the Schott Website shows the 519 with the diamond-shaped-patted lining?

    • @DudsByDel
      @DudsByDel  2 месяца назад

      True to an extent, but it will only stretch so much. Many people try to take advice that makes sense for flimsy lamb leather and it doesn't apply to more robust leathers. As for trying on in person, lots of people can't for whatever reason. Especially if you're buying used its often not an option

    Nice review, Del! What do you think about 118 model? I saw a video on youtube where a guy compares 618 and 118. It would be interesting to hear what you think about 118.
    I remember trying on 618, 613 and 618 in horsehide 10 years ago) Man, those jackets are truly masterpieces. I was a poor student back then and I remember that the prices here in Kyiv, Ukraine were about 1000$. Can you imagine that? Taking to attention that the price on the oficial site of Schott was about 600$ back then)
    I'm still waiting for my 618 perfecto from Japan) By the way, you recently compared matte and shiny jackets. And I can assure you that when I put on the 618 in horsehide it was so fricking shiny, the pics on the oficial site won't give you that impression, such a wonderful jacket. Also would like to hear from you about the 618 in HH)
    Thanks for what you do Del! Peace!

      Hey Dima, thanks! I like the leather on the 118, but its in the longer 26" category like the 519. So for me I think it will also end up being too long. For reference I had a 141 in the same naked cowhide, its a wonderful leather. I may try to do more Schott model comparisons if folks are intersted, including 618 vs 118 etc.
      $1000 vs $600! Thats a tough pill to swallow lol.

    I think the 618 is better for you cause it broadens your shoulders and frame with the shorter boxier look as a regular shaped guy that isnt fat. the 519 is longer so it elongates your frame more than necessary. the 519 would be be better for people with broad shoulders (as it will elongate their frame in a way that flatters them) or taller people. again, 519 is good for those who dont want the boxier shorter fit emphasizing their broad shoulders too much or taller people.
