Proud of you Bradly! You finally got yourself a cool leather jacket. I've been obsessed with that style jacket ever since I saw Marty Mcfly have one on Back to the Future Part II. I've tried to research to actually find whatever brand he wore on the movie, but can never find anything about it.
I know this is late af, but I gotta hand it to you, not many people points out the fact about Brando's Durable jacket when they are talking about Perfectos. Someone been doing their homework and yknow I gotta appreciate that! Edit: oh btw, idk what kind of style you are into, but for me, your jacket fit is gold. Your body and your expression radiates old school rocker to me, so that short sleeves is no problem unless you ride motorcycles. It makes you look cool, with IDGAF attitude. Nice catch with that perfecto.
The 613 is my favorite silhouette from the bunch, with the unpinned collar and a very high front zipper, back looks pretty badass in my opinion as well, and it is nice and short.
Great video...used the jacket on my two trips to Sturgis...saved me during a hail storm and some heavy rain where raindrops felt like 22 bullets being fired at you as we rode like hells angels for the nearest underpass...
Very nice Bradley. When it's broken in I'm sure it will be something to get attached to more and more. I own a 618j made out of thicker leather for the French market. It took me ages to find an affordable one here in Europe, but my patience really paid off. Through the Schott forum it's possible to find out around which period certain jackets were made, especially interesting for 'estate' jacket.
Extremely well produced video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and appreciate all the information and insight you shared. I own the 618 (because I thought I didn’t like the star, but have really switched my opinion on that!) and just ordered the 626VN. Thanks again. Subscribed.
The arms look nice and tailored. Your watches and bracelets will really shine with that arm length. My 519 was stolen and I'm thinking of getting the P613S. The 519 was too long for my body and the arms were about .5-1 inch too long. The P613S should be a nicer fit on my body though I'm worried about the weight. I could wear the 519 on cooler summer nights but couldnt zip and sit in it comfortably.
I've got a 519, kind of looks similar to this one but a bit slimmer and longer + has no footballs. The "made in USA "flag tag has been removed though, and there's a snap for the belt buckle which I find pretty handy since I wear it open most of the time
Bates Leathers supplied all the leather jackets for Arnold Schwarzenneger in The Terminator, Terminator 2 Judgment Day and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines.
I personally own a schott perfecto 618 HH and a Durable one star jacket. the jacket used in the 1954 the wild one and wore by Marlon Brando was a Durable one star. Differences are everywhere through the jacket. Epaluettes position, collar dimensions, V shaped jacket features, the belt position, zips on the arms are longer and placed properly on the side...and so on. Durable against perfecto? I will choose Durable.
Yep, as I mention4ed in the video, the Durable was a copy of the Schott Perfecto. They definitely seem like very nice jackets, but as they haven't been made in decades, the Perfecto is the closets alternative (and the inspiration for the Durable to begin with).
I would add one more Rock reference for this jacket and it pre-dated the Ramones. Peter Gabriel performing the lead character in the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway when he was still with Genesis.
intro too long but funny, i thought this was another blah blah review but it wasnt. it ended up to be the best Perfecto review i ever seen so far. sizes perfectly explained. i can't remember what size my 618 was in my20s. after decades i try to find out cos i want one. luckily my body is built like yours, just a bit wider on the chest, i'm 41,5. maybe a 42 would work better for me. a 44 for winter time wearing a pull, less nice but useful. what do you think?
You got the jacket , now get a Harley ! . This is the most looked for leather jacket in the HD riding groups , even here in the Middle East . Personally I dont like it , but I have a knock-off version for my wife to wear when riding with me, and she likes it .
I’ve had my eye on the horsehide but I’ve always been concerned about the fit. I’m kind of waiting until I visit one of their stores to make a decision. The prices have gone up about 20% in 2 years. I tried a Schott jacket 503VN without the belt and it was a standard Large size not by chest measurement which I probably would be 40/42. It was at the Nordstrom at Bellevue.
It's VERY hard to get a good idea about how they fit beforehand. I did a lot of research beforehand, and still wasn't sure. I'm glad the 40 worked out for me in the 613, but I have no idea which size I would take in the ones that are sized by S, M, L, XL etc.. Maybe the medium? Good luck!
Great reviews- can you tell me please what size you would recommend for me if I wore a mesh motorcycle armoured shirt underneath- shoulder, back and elbow armour I’m a 40-42 regular I’m thinking a 44 perfecto ? Cheers
Congrats! Cool and useful review! I think that the sleeves fit you really well, and longer sleeves wouldn't look so good, in my opinion. In my case, I have just purchased a 618 model, size 36. And it fits really well, by now (i'm 5'6"). Any advices for a good greasing and to give it a conditioning before the first use? Thank you!!
Thanks for watching! Schott claims that the jackets are pre-conditioned and shouldn't need anything for years, depending on use. I haven't conditioned mine yet. When I do eventually, I'll probably use something like Obenauf's paste.
looks very good on you, i like my jackets to be longer though, on the belt line is where i like them, and i like the more modern iterations of biker jackets, not a fan of the belt, i prefer the 4 buckles versions i recently went for a boda skins kay michaels with black zips that i got on a deal for 245 pounds, thats a bargain, just wanting for my friend to bring it over
A couple things I hate about this style of jacket are the hand pockets, they are too small, the shortness of it, I wish it was longer past the waist line, other than that its a pretty warm jacket..
Riding jackets are supposed to be tight because of the wind while riding, and it also protects better if you happen to take a spill on asphalt. I'd suggest practicing karate in a steam room to loosen it up
Just got myself the 618HH Horsehide in a 42 at Schott’s yearly warehouse sale last week. I’m a 40 chest and 5’11 and weigh 185lbs and it’s very tight and snug. I tried on the 44 and it fit better and more comfortable but it didn’t give me the slim fit the 42 gave me. I got a 626 in large three years ago and it fit me loose when I got it when I was 180lbs and now at 185lbs it fit just right but it’s also broken in. I might need to lose 5lbs around my mid section in order for the 618HH to fit better. Once it’s broken in I’m pretty sure it’ll be great. I ride a Harley so I want to use it while riding but the 618HH in 42 for me is way to snug to layer for colder months. Maybe once it’s broken in I can use a sweater. The 626 at first was very hard to wear with layers since it was so stiff, now I’m going nuts thinking how much more breaking in I need with this stiffer 618. I love both my jackets and always wanted the short slim perfecto look and now I have it. It’s still new in the bag but I will start wearing it this week. Hopefully I get to ride with it soon but I might let it break in first since I want to be able to control my bike a bit better.
It sounds crazy to spend money on a Jacket. But these Jackets will out live you. Having two of them. For some time now. The Jackets have maintained its form and function and look new. You can pass it on to the next style rebel. In your family when you’re done with it. 👍
Love the opening! Great jacket. Classy and classic. Good leather takes awhile to break in and when it does it's like a second skin.
Thanks for watching!

The intro was pure GOLD...awesomess galore! :D
Well done, very nice episode overall!

Completely your fault for waiting for so long. Had you ordered it earlier you could have got yours for the low price of $5.50. Great video. Thanks!
Great video. I am 65 and Don’t Ride but love the Schott MC Jackets. I have now style 1928 in Horween Leather. And Just bought style 525 Chips Highway.
Great video Bradley. Not really my style but can’t say enough good things about how well this video was made. A+
I appreciate that!

I love the Brando impression!
I just bought the Schott 613. Can’t wait to get it.
Nice! I hope you like it!
I guess I never replied to you. Yep I love it.
Man fantastic job on this video. The editing was sublime
Thanks, Ryan! It too WAY too long, but it was fun!
Was looking forward to this video, well done.
I enjoyed it from the epic opening, to the end.
Thank you very much!
I bought my 613 new & tight, then molded it to my body. It's the only possession I own that I truly love.
Nice work all around, love the intro 🤣! This is a great choice for the series and a killer jacket.
Cheers!
SIR! Just got mine after studying your video! It’s amazing!!!!! Thanks 👍

Good to know! As I mentioned in the video, Schwarzenegger was wearing a Perfecto STYLE - not an actual Schott, but I wasn't aware of the brand.
I have the 613 and wear it every time I ride my Harley. Its my way of paying homage to the riders of the past.
On a side note: Been smoking My Mixture 965 as a fall/winter blend. Really hits the spot on these cold days!
I don't ride, but it seems like it would still perform that duty well!
Fantastic review. Thank you 👍
Still you can break it in more quickly giving it rubs of conditioner or saddle soap (Kiwi white is a good one)

The sleeves look okay. Maybe could be a touch longer in the torso.
Great opening to the video.

I’m a 40-42 regular
I’m thinking a 44 perfecto ?

Hmmm... Tough to say. The shoulders on the 40 are already pretty tight on me.
Great video, Bro! I wear size large. Should I order my 1 star size 40 or 42?
Hard to say! I'd lean towards 42 or bigger, but it depends on your measurements.
Langlitz jackets are the shit. I have a 50's one and its pretty fantastic. See also Lost Worlds Leather. Down the rabbit hole we go...
This was awesome! Great researching skills! 👋👋👋
Thanks, man!
Nice intro and definitely a timeless jacket! Classic, even. :-)
One might even say "iconic." ;-)
I always thought the sleeves, in any leather should be ever so slightly short. Your jacket looks absolutely perfect on you. Keep rockin' it!
Congrats!
Cool and useful review!

I'll check it out.
Thanks for the info!
Respect for mention Durable One Star.
Any news on the gerbils?
They're doing great!
Nice video and super cool intro!

Hello, how long are your arms?
Is that piece of leather on the zipper removal?
Well done on the vid. Fun!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome video thanks
Which is your shoulders measurements?
I'm not sure. Sorry! They're fairly broad though.
I think 118 fit you better than 613 or 618

Haha! Yep. I've gotten it out in the rain a few times. It has already broken in quite a bit, but it it still has a way to go.
Doesn't make sense if you wear a black jacket with a black T-shirt in front of the black background. Hard to see the jacket.
Very nice and instructive video and funny intro ;-)
Thank you very much!
Very well done!
Great video
Is that what Negan wore, too?
I'm not sure who Negan is!
@@stuffandthingsyoutube sorry - he’s a character from The Walking Dead.

Ever go into a 7 eleven in your Levi’s jeans and black leather greaser jacket?????
This is why they recommended you the 42… the sleeves will be longer.
Your height is 188 cm. Do you feel the jacket is short for your body?
Fits good for length in the body. Just a little bit short in the sleeves.
@@stuffandthingsyoutube it looks too short for you, to be honest…

If you’re like me and nobody’s ever accused you of being an athlete, you’ll probably look ridiculous in any size they offer.
Lol accused of being an athlete
Ok eBay, help me out here.
Brilliant intro, zero interest in leather jackets but watched the whole thing
I appreciate that!
regardless of how successful i become. i couldn't justify spending $900-1500 on a jacket.....
I was lucky to find mine used in good condition. New? Yeah, I doubt I could justify that cost unless I was swimming in cash.

Well it’s not Prada or saint Laurent. It’s Sako vs Cartier. Perfecto says it all, it’s not perfect at all.
