While I have some nostalgia for the Duke, I'm more nostalgic for this controller as it was the first original Xbox controller I used back in early 2004 when getting my first Xbox. I will definitely be picking one of these up soon!
This brings me back. The additional buttons look well placed without changing the overall form. The original controller wasn't the most ergonomic controller but it's not terribly uncomfortable to use. I like the fact that it includes a cable; I never liked using batteries.
Such a dope controller. Don't really see the gripe of it being wited. But that could also just be the fact that my PC and consoles are close to my desk.
i would buy both of them the duke and duchesS if they were making them wireless or else i will just continue to use my OG xbox controller at this point
I’m on the fence about this controller. It looks good but there’s one thing I can’t seem to get confirmation on. Is the audio jack good with wired and wireless headsets? I tried other Hall Effect controllers but that part was poor and terrible on them.
I may get this one. How is the vibration? Is it accurate? I have that other wireless adapter wingman b1 whatever it’s called and the problem with wireless is the vibration is not accurate. Sometimes controllers will just vibrate the whole time etc. Hopefully this one is better.
I Think I'd be more likely to pick it up on a sale. I Prefer wired overall but to not even have the option makes me want to just get another series controller
I use the Duke for Morrowind. I've been debating this purchase for my second Morrowind playthrough and I might be convinced. I'm just worried the diagonal movement won't work properly. That is an issue with the 360 controller they released. I hope the hall effect won't impact the movement.
@@ArchadesGames I figured it out the cable that came with the controller seems to disconnect for some reason I just used another cable and the controller works perfectly fine
@ArchadesGames oh wait.... would it work exactly how the Original Xbox controllers would work on the original systems? Like, would the Black and White buttons be recognized correctly, if you know what I mean?
This is cool. It’s just the bumpers that really turn me off. While it fits the design of the old controller I don’t think I’d end up using it much cuz of way I hold my remote.

I'm loving the nostalgia it gives lol

The 360 is where they got the feel right to me personally but the S isn't terrible and I will always take it over the DualShock 1-3 😅
I’m so excited i just ordered mines getting it Saturday I’m looking forward 🎉❤to
Nice, hope you have a blast with it!
Such a shame Xbox won't give them the ok for wireless, I just can't go back to wired now. I would main a wireless duke tho. 😁
Same! They upgrade it to wireless and Hall Effect sticks like these and it's a done deal.
@@priestvallon4654 stopppp
I can with a wired controllers I don't have to worry about battery life.
@@Highland-Gaming1 I get that, but I have kids and a hyper dalmation, can't have cords going across the living room. Accident waiting to happen.
@@ArchadesGames yes or else i might just continue to use my og xbox controller then
Great review. I never knew that the og controller S had pressure sensitive buttons. Thankyou
Yup, the duke and S were pressure sensitive like the DualShock 2. Not many games did anything worthwhile with it though.
@@ArchadesGames seems pretty counter intuitive since the travel between the buttons is so short you can barely do anything with it
the perfect controller to play ninja gaiden sigma on the master collection and remember the good old days of ninja gaiden black
Definitely!
Man That's like kick on neck Beautiful memories with this Controller Really thank you for this beautiful video bro❤

I get it in certain scenarios but yeah don't mind it myself
i would buy both of them the duke and duchesS if they were making them wireless or else i will just continue to use my OG xbox controller at this point
If this was wireless, this would if been perfect for the BlueRetro for the OG Xbox coming out. What a shame...
I think ima get one would be perfect for xemu
It works great for Xemu!

Vibration is great
Give us another review a year from now. I need to know how the quality is
I Think I'd be more likely to pick it up on a sale. I Prefer wired overall but to not even have the option makes me want to just get another series controller
If it had paddles or extra buttons lower down on the back for FPS titles, I'd be all over this thing
you have on switch controller little button bellow the R2 and L2.
I wonder what cranking 90’s in Fort with those face buttons are like?
Love it, but they should have an update app or software on Xbox console.
Never too lateeeeee!

It depends on the game especially since the OG Xbox had a different calibration to modern sticks.
I have a problem with there 360 controller for some reason it keeps disconnecting even though it’s wired
I'd email their support about that
@@ArchadesGames I figured it out the cable that came with the controller seems to disconnect for some reason I just used another cable and the controller works perfectly fine
Have you tried it on the Xbox 360? I want to see if they work for the backward compatible games Original Xbox games on the 360.
You would need a brook adapter for it to work on 360
@@ArchadesGames okay! Thanks!

Yes it does
does this work in on nintendo switch too? as it has it is wired it got me wondering
No, it is an Xinput controller so it won't work on switch without something like a brook adapter
The controller s controller >>>>> only topped by the og wireless version..

I hear you on that
Part of me wished you'd tear it down to show the inside 😅
The duke, controller S, and Xbox 360 dpads aren't bad for 2d games.
What’s the size comparison compared to the series X controller bigger smaller?
Bigger
@@ArchadesGames interesting!
360 and Xbox One/Series were smaller thanks to better ergonomics
@@ArchadesGames if you have big hand, its better so ^^
Hi would you recommend I should buy that Duchess controller
If you like the Controller S and don't mind wired controllers it's a great option to consider.
i need that ooooooooomg
They went on sale yesterday!
I like it just wish this and the others were wireless.
It would be nice to have the option
They sold out 😭
