  • [EN subtitles] This video is NOT about rain water getting into the car, it's about condensate from the AC / Aircon not being able to drain out! How To Bloke hopes his findings help somebody figure out why they still get water in the footwell when it's not the ingress of rainwater and the air conditioning drain pipe is not blocked.
The vehicle featured in this video is a 2009 Renault Scenic 3 / III, also known as a Renault Megane Scenic 3 / III.

Great video. If you're ever stuck for content, I'd be happy to see anything around you, you happen to find interesting. The countryside is so quiet, warm and looks superb.

Finally, solved! That’s been doing my nut in, trying to figure out why the footwell gets wet/flooded over night. Keep posting content, mate. Old problems or new - you explain how to solve them in words even my tiny mind can understand, so I thank you. You genuinely helped me to sort out a problem that’s been bugging me for months.

So today I felt that weird smell in my car, I start to search until I found exactly that place turned to green color 🤧. I spent an hour thinking how this can happen 😠😣 until I found your video. The pipe was completely disconnected. You saved my car from being taken apart today 😅. Thank you very much for the video👌👍

Any chance your grand scenic has a window rattle? Mine does and it is driving me mad when the window is down, if you can help that would be ace 👍

Not really, though that gives me an idea for a new vid. Maybe the door panel's window-glass guide runner has come adrift below the sill, or a loose push-pull mechanism at the bottom edge of the window. I'll give it some thought. Thanks for watching How To Bloke 👍

I have similar issue from the moment I changed the glass mechanism, when the window is half open, it starts to rattle 😔

Great! This is actually also relevant for Megane mk2 (CC model).
It seems like the exact same aircon device, and I have exactly the same problem with my 2005 model, clean cold water filling passenger side footwell. Now I just needs someone with a head so small that one can look inside the black hole :)
Unfortunately I've spotted it so late that mold formed on the carpet, at the "water line" :/

:) You describe the perfect symptoms of a blocked aircon condenser drain hole. It's not easy to look inside there, but, well worth it when you get out whatever it is that's blocking the drain. When the mold is absolutely and totally bone dry, you should be able to brush it off with a stiff brush and then hoover it up. Thanks for watching #HowToBloke👍

@@HowToBloke - Thanks for taking the time to respond!
I got hold of a cheap USB "water proof 10 mm inspection camera" with great image quality.
I can see a lot of gunk and maybe a dead drwoned spider of sorts in the small hole opening. Which is under a pool of totallt clean water.
But I can't get anything in there, stiff enough to "go down that hole" and clean it too, so I'll have to try unclogging the pipe from below.
      Thanks again, mate!

I had that on my scenic III . It was caused by the wiper motor scuttle drain being blocked. It appears that when the water level rises it travels along the scuttle and travels through the fan down into the interior of the car. Remove the wiper arm, plastic grill and wiper motor to get at the drain. There will probably be a lake where the scuttle drain is blocked.

Absolutely! I've got a partial temporary quick-fix video planned for stopping rainwater ingress via the scuttle drain. Waiting for the tools to arrive... Thanks for watching #HowToBloke 👍

    • @HowToBloke

@@gerardjampies5101 Took me a week using dry sponges changed daily in the cubby hole. After that, a few days with just kitchen roll until I was convinced it was bone dry.
