Agreed. It is going to take a while to get everyone in the cat they belong. I am on 348 ZRS with 2.8 W/KG (248ftp) and mostly finish in the middle of the pack even though my score is very high for the 180-350 group while each race has people who drop the bunch by miles riding at 3.5 W/KG in the 180-350 cat. Hopefully they get to their actual cat soon.
I'd agree here, was C cat prior to Zwift racing change (2.8 W/Kg also), can hold my own in TT's under the current ratings (I'm 371 ZRS) but I've done 2 of the community races and dropped 4-5km in by riders doing 4.2W/Kg for the whole race.
@@RoadtoA I did. Suffered a lot and finished somewhere midfield in the 350-520 category. The speed of the front group up the climbs was just out of reach for me
Well raced, that’s a brutal course. I raced the 350-520 on Saturday and finished 7 minutes behind the leaders and my racing score dropped by around 2 points. Interestingly the winners had similar power numbers, 3.8 to 4.4 w/kg which is pretty crazy. Luckily I found a group of good traditional C Cat riders until I blew on the Yorkshire KOM. That course highlights where a lot of races are won and lost - 1 to 5 minute power. Great effort to hang in there until the end.
You raced with Randi Gino! She is incredibly fast uphill. Terrible course to be on. You cannot win the race on the first climb, but you can lose it there before the race even starts. Especially if the guy on the front is hammering 7.2w/k. Great effort though! Well done!
I've seen! She had a bad luck with a connection drop out on one of the climbs. I feel I wasn't that far off to keeping with the front on the first climb but ultimately, it wouldn't much matter, I wouldn't stand a chance on the 17% kicker.
@@paulwynne1811 yep, the groups have shifted., the second group is now more of an A/B equivalent from the previous system. I am at the same boat as you now. We'll need to train more!

@@talonlan well to be fair at 440 you are kind of in the middle of the category, 4 mins off the leader doesn't sound too outrageous to me in this case (though of course I would need to see the detailed race data to be able to evaluate it really).
@@RoadtoA Yeah I get you I just think I was way over placed initially the seeding on me was complete bollox, I am no where near top third in the cat and should probably be 390-410 ish ( started at 470). makes it no fun trying your hardest only to get negative points every race.
ZRS is a joke. I'm supposed to race in the same group as you and can do over 4 w/kg for this sort of race. By the way, do you use any other power meter than the one in the Zwift Hub One? Because I used the Zwift Hub One and worked out that it under reports power above 300 watts by at least 7%. I got a reliable power meter for the pedals, and my FTP went up by 30 watts. You are doing great. This course is almost like a real fitness test. No need fancy strategies, just pedal up those hills.
