No, no they weren’t. Every underwater scene was on average 30 seconds.
@@SerenityScratch but they had to train, yknow it gan take up to a year to film a movie and they had to be trained TRAINED. Like really. And the scenes may be under 30 seconds, but the time it took to film the 30 seconds or less can take up a few hours.

Jimin's Thighs ツ yea, they did train. In another video they also mentioned that each underwater scene isnt longer than 30 seconds. Of course it takes practice. Being underwater with a 14 kilo tail while acting and moving is seriously hard, even for 30 seconds. They definitely needed training for that, its not easy. But the scenes aren’t filmed more than 30 seconds, as they mentioned in other behind the scenes videos. I am guessing this is due to safety reasons and it is much harder to do dynamic breath holds than static ones.
Jimin's Thighs ツ It’s not about filming, its about breath holding. I mentioned nothing about the filming process. I am aware that it would take longer than 30 seconds, obviously. But I was referring to their breath hold for each scene. They dont film more than 30 seconds underwater while holding their breath. Each breath and scene is no longer than 30 seconds.
Ok but H2O solidified me wishing I could be a mermaid. I ended up making a fully functional mermaid tail as my senior project. So yeah it impacted me as a teenager.

I know this was three years ago lmao but im watching mako rn and the reason i think is cuz dixie and sirena were told to chase fish away from mako so the humans would have to go back (no food/theyd think its a bad fishing spot) but dixie helped cam catch a fish and pretended to be a fish for zac causing the boys to stay on mako that night leading to the whole moon thingy

In mako mermaids, mermen are evil. That’s why the pod had a big freak out about how Zac was now a merman, because they are very dangerous creatures. And since he has a connection to the island the pod had to leave because it was now too dangerous for them to stay there
It's weird how when we were kids being between the ages 16 - 18 seemed like practically full grown adults. But in reality, I'm about to be 17 and I still feel like a fetus

I LOVED H2O as a kid, so when they announced the Mako Mermaids was gonna be a thing, I was soooo hyped. It’s good for a kid but doesn’t hold a torch up to H2O lol

I actually prefer mako mermaids as a concept because there's a lot more options for where to take the show, for example the trident idea, and the merman chamber. You can't have that in H2O cause there are no mermen. And then on top of that, the idea of "real" mermaids opens up more possibilities for magic spells, more interesting and dangerous threats, and new ideas. I think H2O was the stronger show overall, and I agree that it was better written but Mako Mermaids is a lot more gripping, even if it does feel a bit more like something that stays in your childhood

Mami Mermaids is technacly the continued on version of H2O just add water where rikki, Chloe, and meme are adults, and it shows the lives of the real mermaids... (Not sure any of this makes sense since it's 2 in the morning... :/)
I never thought that, the camera quality of this show is 10x better than H2o. The storyline and range of characters got a lot better to. Honestly, mako mermaids is such an improvement to H2o in my opinion.

This show traumatized me as a young child. All it took was one look at the water dimension-portal thing where the trident was held and I now fear any body of water larger than a bathtub.

Queen Monarch the mermen are born/raised on land they all live in foster homes while the mermaids are born at sea and stay in sea in pods :( honestly kinda sad
In the show they keep referring to the young ones as hatchlings so mermaids are definitely born from eggs. I assumed that since mermen are clearly more rare than mermaids, you need a mermaid and a mermen to make a mermen (as in the case of Mimmi and Zac who are brother and sister) while mermaids on their own don’t need mermen to generate other mermaids. I used to think that they left their eggs in the moon pool and the moon did the rest but the show doesn’t give any evidence for that.
I love how you explained the expressions on those "shocked" mermaids.
I was such a fan of mako mermaids when It came out. I watched every season at least 5 times. But, when they remade it or made a spin-off, Mako mermaids, I was devastated because I missed the old characters. Because, on Netflix, they removed h20, and just had mako mermaids on Netflix. I was anywhere from 8-10 when it came out, I don't watch the show anymore, because I switched to Disney plus, but the show brings back so many happy memories watching the show and pretending to be a mermaid as I watched it.
Let me tell you I was obsessed with this show as a little kid. like so obssesed that I have a fear of spiders, and I still would have given my right arm. to camp in Australia for the chance to be a mermaid.

I’m pretty sure Mako Mermaids takes place in between the original H2O and the Cleo H2O because the rules in Mako Mermaids makes no sense if it takes place AFTER H2O. I mean, why would the pod show up AFTER Cleo, Rikki, and Emma get their powers only to leave because Zac gets his powers? Makes no sense.
I’ve watched Mako Mermaids, in my late 20’s and it’s terrible but I kind of love it. By the end of it the original 3 mermaids weren’t even a part of the series anymore just mentioned in passing so viewers had a reason for their disappearance.
It is weird but just fun to watch in my opinion

So the two series are related but the pureblood, for lack of better words as I'm more used to the vampire genre (that isn't live-action tv-shows or most western modern takes except for Darren Shan), saw that 3 girls became mermaids, went like "they'll probably keep it a secret because that's what teen girls do" and did nothing to help them figure out their powers. Only to pop up when some guys appear there and say "there has never been guys here! And if it's something guys are known for is it gossip!" and try to -stalk- follow them around in case they let it slip. But those girls did absolutely not need any follow up...

season 1 was actually ok, the rest seemed too cheesy though and they switched main girls like clothes so I didn't bother watching further
They switched because irl they needed to go besides i really like the changes it was refreshing
@@dangerwithluv7966 yeah ik that, it wasn't really the production's fault. i just felt like H2O was partly so successful cause they remained on and developed the bond between the three same girls. and i thought the girls from s1 of mako had very distinct personalities and worked well in a group, even if the show in itself is high cringe.
@@LydiaIsSweet I get what ur saying but like the three girls in h20 never new each other at the start but the three girls in mako mermaids already knew each other and were good friends so there wouldn’t be much to build if they already know each other
H2O was my favourite show as a kid (and I recently watched it again and it's still great) but everytime my little sisters turn in Mako Mermaids I turn it off immediately, I personally think its really bad.
