In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

In the full episode Greg actually says something like 'you know, if Alex came out of the shed and his children were there, he'd be surprised... but you two had to go straight to the kidnapping'

The way she straight up giggles had me dead
For me, it's the funniest moment from all of Taskmaster episodes so far. Alex's face & the noise he makes Liza giggling her head off as she runs off around the corner, then again giggling in the studio.
Kinda upset they cut what he said about it in the studio, tbh ('I was open', etc)
As mad as Romesh was to rub that into his eyes, Frank Skinner singing whilst spooning up other people's tears looked like found footage of a serial killer.
Absolutely demented
Watching Frank Skinner have the crew hold onions near their eyes while he simultaneously sang Old Shep and collected there tears was one of those moments that made me question my own sanity.
He reminded me of a character from some bizarre Eastern European folklore. The Tear Collector. He sings his tragic song and takes tears from all the townsfolk to make his bath.

@Jennyfisch that is exactly what I thought the first time I saw it in the full episode.
I think the fact he'd even shocked himself, and the laughter was completely out of control, really nails it. This is a man who, by his own admission, sometimes gets so excited he has to scream into a pillow (under otherwise normal circumstances). There's a lot more to that man than those teeth...
Sleep deprivation is a helluva thing.

I love that even when she was watching it back in the studio Lisa still has the same sheer giddy in her voice when she did the task. Her little “I felt so dirty! He was a different man!” All the while laughing 😂

Honestly I’m very curious as to what Alex ranks as the worst thing a contestant has ever done to him or made him do for a task.

I will never be able to scrub my memory of the sight of him clutching Alex and shouting that he's sinned again whilst his face is eaten. The feeling it dredges up from within me is indescribable.
It gives me the same kind of deep unsettled feeling as the old 'Salad fingers' videos 😖

This moment really defined the show. Like, you've got 2 people eating watermelon relatively peacefully, you've got the dude who broke the watermelon on the table, then you've got a guy just THROWING the watermelon on the ground and savagely eating the pieces.

The reveal that Paul chodry stayed in the cardboard box for 45 minutes before trying to surprise Alex makes me laugh everytime I think about it

Man, rewatching the Watermelon task makes me realize what an excellent debut task for the series it was. The progression of Roisin assuming there would be a bowl of cut up melon, to Josh feebly spooning watermelon into his mouth, to Tim and Romesh barreling into the room and immediately smashing the Watermelon, with Romesh deciding in the heat of the moment it was better to smash and subsequently eat the watermelon off the floor instead of the perfectly good table in front of him encapsulates every thing about the show so perfectly.
I think Romesh's performance on that task is still my favorite thing in the entire series, as another commenter in this video said, I know whats coming and its still just as funny every single time.
In that moment, Romesg must have feared dying the most ignoble death in history.

Funny thing is that the time only started after they opened the door to the lab means that they could have simply not opened the door, gone to the store and bought another watermelon and take their time eating that one instead

@@josephchambers2000 iirc the owner posted something about he owning it as a private citizen but the income from views/ads etc goes to Channel 4 and that he has no control over the ads. A solution C4 made rather than just shutting down the channel. Was a topic when people complained about the increase in ads.
Liza giggling her head as Alex waddles out the shed, trousers & boxers round his ankles, with cake still falling off underneath his towel, is the funniest moment in the history of Taskmaster so far for me.

Of all the bizarre and inexplicable moments on the show, Bob Mortimer bringing Alex Horne into a loving embrace and inviting him to eat his nose while moaning "I've sinned"....
I think the two that wanted to kidnap Alex's children to surprise him was the Absolute Madness than a Nan welding a pressure washer.
But they didn't actually kidnap his kids. Rob's maniacal laughter was actually a moment of pure madness

They don't do it as much in the newer series but I love it when they show shots of the contestant's back in the studio reacting live to other contestants and their own footage. Adds another level of hilarity to each task. Seeing them cringe or reel in embarrassment or seeing them laugh hysterically at their own decisions aha. Hope they have some of that style shown in the new series!

This show is extreme chaos sometimes, that's one of the reasons it's so good
It's partly because it kinda forses then to work under pressure, but on something they don't need to take seriously. It's a brilliant recipe for madness.

Omg they edited out the BEST part of the whole cake-up-Alex’s-arse segment, when he said “because of the shape of the chair, it all got pushed up inside me” (or something like that). The first time I saw the clip of that task, with Tarbuck’s cake, I honestly cried, I was laughing SO flippin hard! 🤣🤣🤣

The fact the watermelon task was series 1 is shocking because it's by far the best example of how this show is amazing, each celebrity gradually increases the amount they eat and the craziness in the way they do it. If you have to show someone 1 task over the entire series to get them into the show you show them that one, maybe the potato throwing

It didnt deserve to last. They invited horrible guests, Lisa Lampanelli was like the worst person I've ever seen and hated every second of her. The taskmaster was just a lame stage prop who never even stood up to his assistant or given bonus points based on effort ... absolute shitshow.
