Love this little pattern!! Thank you Davie.your amazing at what you do sir.!!👍
Wow.
That looks like a killer patern. It looks deadly. I can just imagine you out fishing on a lake for the day looking into your fly boxes taking about 4 hours trying to decide which magical creation to use. Some of them are so beautiful you wouldn't want to get them wet never mind the trouts teeth tearing them apart. You must cry when you hook a fish. bril video. looking forward to the next masterpiece.😢😭😉
Very nice looking fly Davie. Well tied and explained as always. Many thanks for sharing.
God bless you Davie! beautiful wee fly! again, the way you tye the wings, split with foam or otherwise, is fantastic. that's what the redwing black birds look like when they glide down to my feeder! the fly looks so well balanced & proportioned. your tying is an art form on to itself, that they catch fish is only a bonus! thanks again my friend, all the best to you & yours!

Hello Davie
It has passed long time since my last message to you. I'm always follow your fly art and visit your channel. Given that we are close to the trout season I began to tie some of these flies. I was thinking to use them early in the morning at the end of the dawn. To tie the fly, I used dyed deer hair (black and dark brown), I tried them in my pool and flies seems to be working well. Thank you for sharing your skills and tips.
Awesome job. Mega Thx !
That looks great Davie. Gives me some ideas for a Callibaetis mayfly pattern. I don't think I've seen CDC fibers used like that to form the wing. Thank you.
your videos are THE best.. I don't speak english good... I am from Európe but your flies are THE most beautiful :)

I like the time saver trick you use with the wax. What kind of wax do you use and how do you keep it affixed to your index finger?
Hi Paul,
I use Veniards Prepared Fly Tyers Wax. What I do is warm it by holding the wax under the warm water tap until it softens so that I can pull off a small piece the size of a small button..I then work it between my fingers until it becomes tacky as this will allow it to stick to the side of my finger ready to be used when needed, the warmth of my finger helps keep it soft as well...
All the very best Davie
Hello, beautiful assembly!, Which scissors you use to cut the wings, you recommend me, thank you!
Hi Chuchi Fontan,
I'm glad you enjoyed the video...I used a 4 inch razor scissor which I buy off Ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Razor-Fly-tying-scissors-tools-materials-craft-4-INCH-/181519722289?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10
I also used a small curved pair which I bought many years ago and have no name on them, they are nothing special just a cheap pair which I'm sure you could buy very easily..I hope this is of some help to you...
All the very best Davie...
boa noite mcphail como faço para concerva as penas de aves ,ficarei grato pela resposta, boa noite
🥇✌️
Nice fly Davie.
Will it work in August when I'm back in Scotland?
Hi Chris,
I would use the natural grey cdc rather than the black as it will cover more species of fly rather than just the one, but it would be worth having a couple in your box as it's a good pattern..
All the very best Davie..
What season would this be best for?
Hi Stu b,
I tye these for friends that fish in Ireland and they fish them in the summer months early in the morning on the lochs when they are more likely to appear.
All the very best Davie...
@@DavieMcPhail thanks Davie 👍
Davie
Your description is not showing everything.
Hi Brody Burnham,
I know the part you are talking about, I was just a bit out as I was more looking at getting a closeup of the fly which is important but so is showing the materials being used...Many thanks for your comment...
All the very best Davie
