    I went to Lewis BBQ last year when I took a vacation to Charleston with my wife. I legitimately choked up when I had the brisket. It was the best brisket I've ever had and I've been bbqing for years.

    He worked as the pit master for La Barbercue in Austin in a trailer parking lot before their brick n mortar location opened up, and I’ll be honest his method was ON point, and food was amazing compared to the more recent location with different pitmaster.

    I grew up in working in restaurants in Myrtle Beach, two hours to the north. This is one of the most labor intensive food service operations I've ever seen. Obsessive attention to detail. I'm impressed.

    Nothing more inspiring than seeing someone devote perfection to their craft. I would’ve never thought about smoking oxtail, but it’s definitely on my cooking bucket list

    When my sister lived in South Carolina, I would always go to Lewis BBQ on every visit with her. I’m going to miss that place since she moved from SC earlier this year. 😭

    My son lives in Charleston, and he just texted me this week raving about Lewis BBQ. I watched the video. I'll go check it out, but so far I'm impressed. I like the fact that if a tool doesn't work for him, John simply modifies the tool until it performs the way he wants it to.

    I was there a week ago on Thursday.. Rueben special. Amazing, also the brisket was very good. Coleslaw amazing.. best I ever had ( need that recipe) Took pulled pork home for dinner. Yup I will go back again.

    as a Mexican, I have to tell that we don't use double tortilla in case one breaks, we use double tortillas so you can make a double taco out of one. greetings, everything looked delicious.
