The Dad looks like he'd tell you he cant give the secret spice blend, but would eventually tell you within 15 minutes :D
After two beers and a shot
That’s a good man. Sharing of knowledge is the highest calling
@@MrBobbo18 yeah I love white people pretending to be Mexican
@@klaus544 bro you have left like 40 comments just on this single video bashing everything from the food to their ethnic background. You ok?
@@klaus544 he is Mexican 💀💀
The amount of little details and love put into their food is inspiring. Food Zen
it’s so wonderful to see the hispanic roots of barbecue flourishing. this is why i’m so happy to see generally all hispanic & latino businesses flourishing- there’s so much soul behind everything they do
Political gaslighting, but you have opportunities to learn to bbq. .
Soul behind everything but yes Hispanic culture especially in Texas isnt shown on the internet
@@joshtaylor6466 just wanna make sure I’m understanding correctly… you’re saying that the white political power structure is erasing Hispanic culture? If so, I 100% agree.
@@joshtaylor6466 How is pointing out the roots of BBQ political gas lighting? I bet you’d even argue that BBQ in the Carolinas that evolved into what we know today doesn’t have roots in slavery. Also, you’d probably argue that Ashkenazi Jews didn’t influence our love of smoked brisket….that’d probably make someone like you really uncomfortable. In short, it wasn’t Jim Bob and Truck Nuts in the yard with a Weber kettle.

That smoked tamales sound freaking delicious!
On a hunting trip passing through LaVaca we stopped here to eat on on whim... seriously the best bbq I have ever had. We plan to come back this year! Big Foodie and this place is on the top of my list. They had free beer and ice cream that day!
Kelli has mad knowledge in her craft. Its clear that her father spent plenty of time passing his craft down to his daughter. She def learned valuable skill frm her mother no doubt. Much like my own mother, she knows just how much ingedient is needed and when its done.
I've watched a LOT of these videos, and I've never seen anyone actually utilizing "dirty" smoke. Wild.
She's showing why she only has one 1000 gallon tank smoker...ignore politics and focus on the food...
@@joshtaylor6466 you are really up in arms in these comments lol. just because someone talks about their culture doesn’t make it woke and political. if you’re offended by that, you should evaluate why.
Go check out bar-a-bbq
I miss the BBQ Pitmaster show that was on TV many years ago. This lady reminds me of those excellent Pitmaster's and it is a joy to watch someone do it so good. I have been up all night many a times smoking meats & cooking for a family get together the next day. Doing this on Christmas eve is one of the best times for me. Working on our deck by the pond with all the lights with a great drink for the evening. Shalom
I love seeing women pit masters it’s amazing thank you for the video
Tootsie Tomanetz > these idiots
Smoke Point is my favorite series on RUclips!
This series is just wholesome!
So beautiful and of love, that is what makes the food so good, love.
Respect, shout out to this girl her parent must be so proud of her i cant even stand in front of the smoker all day like her not even a minute my eyes gon' be red respect to this girl
She immediately ruined that brisket tho

8:28 I absolutely loving this episode! family is everything! and Kelly wouldn't let those secret ingredients out of the bag for anything and I don't blame her
Great video! I love the family passion that they exude in something like preparing food for their customers. Port La Vaca is now on my list of places to visit!
beautiful family and looks like great food. thanks for posting
Ever since forever I've thought Texas BBQ and tortillas/tacos/tamales was a match made in heaven. Finally!!! Too bad I'm halfway across the country from Texas - one day...
Wish I could taste this! Incredible
That looks Really good. I like that they've created their own style instead of just trying to copy the rest of Texas.
I would absolutely eat and pray with these people..This is a wonderful place.
I loooooved how her mum said tortillas ♥️
Wow, that all looks incredible
- Talks about how blue corn is healthier than yellow corn
- Puts Big Red into everything
:)
she never said it was healthier. it might just be better for the recipe lol
@@gamesprayer she did say healthier but in Mexico because they won’t slather big red on it lol I love me some big red and I hate that it’s deadly lol
@@nestr2007 well, the thing she said about blue corn being healthier, is pretty much a lie, at least the part about Mexico using it for that reason. the only real reason is the color is better for some dishes, and that's it.
A smoked brisket/pulled pork tamale?! You awesome creative people! I could not imagine how good that is wow!
Finally they do a place outside of Austin Tx
I have to say one thing that always gets me, “I’m a woman why wouldn’t I be able to be a pitmaster” the same people that say she can’t, would also be the same people that say women belong in the kitchen. If you have the passion for whatever you do don’t listen to anyone. The fact you have passion is all the drive you need to take you where you need and what to go!!
I don’t know about Mexican bbq but if you can’t do a clean tortilla 10.48 ! The simplest thing then , what about the meat?
Always happy to see more representation in the world of barbecue. Don’t really agree with her view on the flavor given by dirty smoke, I’m personally not a fan of it, but hey to each their own
Yeah I was floored by what she said.
Gotta find and ask the real pitmaster for the explanation
@@Michael20 what’s up?
The little bit of dirty smokes reminds me of cooking over a fire in the woods. It’s a memory through flavor.
@@Michael20 even people who haven't been bbq in that long now that dirty smoke absolutely DESTROYS anything on that pit
That's just bbq 101
What an amazing video. Amazing family. Makes this place a must stop next time I'm there
looks amazing!!! Another restaurant on the list for when I visit Texas.
A lot of love goes into that food. Looks really good.
The mom's Texas accent! I love it
Its definitely Texas when you see HEB products! Wooooweee
Que buena combinación de técnicas e ingredientes, solo me saltó que la tortilla que trató de hacer su mami estaba cruda y gruesa, falta hacerlo bien solamente. Mi admiración a Kelly.
Thank you
As a south Texan I love seeing a little spotlight on our regional style of BBQ. Meaning more Mexican spice meets Texan techniques. Not sure about the dirty smoke, but I bet it’s still delicious! I wonder if they do any goat bbq too. I’ll definitely be stopping in to try that smoked tamale!! My husband would love this!
Yeah that “dirty smoke” comment threw me off too.
Dirty smoke is the new thing, the number 1 bbq restaurant jirby says dirty smoke is okay and they even use it .
Was wondering if anyone else noticed the dirty smoke thing that I big giant no no hard to believe someone taught her to do that
Eat here every chance I get! You can taste the unique flavors they use in everything they cook. My personal opinion but my favorite bbq place here in Texas! Their brisket literally melts in your mouth 🤤
Wow! What great people!!!!! No wonder they are successful.
As a believer myself, the people I have always been around dont care if your male or female. Dont sell yourself short sister you being a pitmaster can match up with all other pitmasters. To each his own as there are soooo many styles and flavors. Each adding their own unique twist. Yalls twist with a mexican flare is pure genius. Home based out of New Braunfels, born in Lubbock, and raised in Denton now living in Thailand, I can so relate to the big red thing. Our familys kick was homemade big red ice cream.Wish I was closer to find yall and try your culinary offerings. I pray one day. May God continue to bless the whole Nevarez family... Go sandcrabs! (my aunt Pat is from Port Lavaca). Peace....
I thought dirty smoke was what you try to avoid. I mean, their food looks amazing! I've just seen so many other smokers say that dirty smoke is bad.
The number one spot in texas, Goldees BBQ, uses this technique as well. Jirby talks about it alot on his channel. Its a bit controversial but apparently works out great!
Anton is right. It's controversial. Some pitmasters believe it imparts a bitter smoke flavor while others obviously have no issue with it.
It is and while absolutely ruine everything on that pit
If you even used once you know it's true
@@klaus544 Actually its not true.
@@Tough_III go use a damn grill then say that
So cool to see these badass women leading this barbecue business.
Proud of you cousin!

No she actually doesn't
I love these series, so wholesome. Food looks amazing.
I love this family, so Amazing love.
Excellent video. I'm hungry.
Texas BBQ looks really good, the meat looks fresh and tasty
One of the best presentations I have seen for BBQ. Thank you very much! Are you selling Mexican BBQ spices?
I'm a new pitmaster learning from all over the world
that is some of the best looking brisket i've seen and i've hit most of the BBQ states.
one of the best videos on BBQ I've seen... oye suegros!
They seem like a very nice family that cooks some amazing looking food
I love a white guy pretending to be Hispanic
Probably the best Eater show I’ve seen yet
Those tamales look smackin. I would love to give this place a try
The best delicious food is when family involved in the cooking process, God bless.
My sentiment exactly, gracias a Dios por la familia.
African American southern raised, who didn't discover Mexican cooking until I moved to Cali at 18 and I use home rendered tallow a lot in my kitchen...now I feel like I'm onto something.🃏
Loved seeing that opening prayer!!
Mad props to this pit master! And that hat reminds me of Bob’s Burgers!
12:49 I love it! I'm a little shorty too andy dad was a welder and he would have made my grill to fit my 5'0 self lol he had to make stuff fit me a lot
I wish I lived close to this place
WOW! She is an artist. With the love she puts into it I best that is some amazing BBQ!
Amazing family! I especially love the bold faith they display every day
That is an Artist.
Awesome, love the art and learned something to use in my home smoking!
The effort they put into that food is very inspiring.
Add this to my bucket list.
Idk why I click on these videos I get super hungry all the time... Dam
the mother has a quite a combination of accents
Yeah she's not actually Hispanic
@@klaus544 you cant tell she is not born in mexico just by looking at that tortilla
"I'm not special, why wouldn't i be able to do it." Thats real emanzipation right there folks.
Beautiful family 🙏🏽
Awesome family restaurant and glad to see a woman on a pit
Dirty Smoke in the beginning is perfectly fine I been saying that
Talk about doing bbq different!! Gotta love it.
The tamales look amazing good job and great innovation 🫡
Never tried Big Red, so this is new to me. Very new.
9:44 "We use blue corn because it has no gluten..."
Correct. In the same way all other varieties of corn also doesn't.
I think she meant that with yellow corn masa some folks add flour to have a better consistency. Some folks don’t know that flour is added to homemade sometimes.
The mother had to be nervous… cuz that tortilla was 😬
Too watch you I am I aww I ama chef in Las Vegas and I have run a BBQ restraint. Too see you doing all of this I can only say wow jest keep it up and the world will be yours. Thank you for sharing your family's life in the restraint bossiness.
Hi u guys wow looks so good
This Looks Absolutely Delicious 😋
oh i looove the prayer before they open! that’s really touching! making it feel more of a family environment. not a lot of companies/places do that nowadays! that’s lovely 👍🏽
I have to have them tomales as well as everything else! Looks soooooooo goooood
Man, I was not planning on making a Tejas trip, but I will!
Love this video!
Most people who aren't from Texas have no idea what big red is. Sunday barbacoa and big red , can't beat that
Looks so good.
I'd love to have one of those smoked tamales... I love Jesus as well 🙏
I almost choked on saliva at the end of the video. This meat looks amazing!
thats a solid father right there
Yup a white guy pretending to be Hispanic, seems like a good guy🙄
the amount of BIG RED
I’m loving this for you queen
Familia es todo!
Very good looking que and seem like cool folks 💯
A Great Video and Information
Love this video.
I gotta get there!!!! Great video!!
so interesting that she puts the brisket and meat first before starting the fire.
Yeah that's absolutely wrong
I'm impressed. Looks like a fun family affair.
This looks almost indescribably delectable. And probably tastes even more so.
Awesome way to do tamales I should tried someday!!!
The owner is so right about fajitas in general. Most of the times because it arrives in a skillet it’s so well done it ruins the meat.
