Y’all should do “try not to get mad” with the adults reacting to this video, specially Sharon.
I would legit watch that on Pay Per View
Yes!
Forget that we need her to host an ep of this it would be hilarious i can see it now her starting a riot if they didnt know it!
Or “try not to feel old.” They’ve done that before.
Omg that would be too hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I felt phils pain when he screamed when janelle asked if martin was cuba gooding jr😭😭💀
No… she asked if Martin was the guy from Daddy day care. Phil said “no that’s Cuba Gooding Jr”… when in fact, it’s not Cuba in ddc, it’s Eddie Murphy
@@vanessaglass6089 I had to look this up. So they flashed "Daddy Day Camp" in the video and that is Cuba Gooding Jr. The one with Eddie Murphy is "Daddy Day Care Series." I don't know which one she's referring to but, you are both correct.
I have to remind myself this generation didn’t grow up watching cable tv or even listening to radio. They had streaming services with a million options. At their age I was aware of the previous generations pop culture and media because it was still aired on reruns and I only had so many options to watch. They had a totally different experience.
Some of us did! My parents never wanted to pay for a streaming service so we had cable (and still do).
I would say the early half of gen z did grow up on cable n would do decent with this challenge. I think this group is just a bad representation😅
Trying not to get mad while watching this was really hard 😂
I don't feel anger, just pity lol.
I am an 2000's kid, but I was partially raised on 90's sitcoms. "Full House," "The Nanny" and "Friends" were my favourites.
I can’t recommend Living Single enough! It was Friends before Friends (seriously, Friends was accused of ripping off this show because a lot of the dynamics and situations and even a couple of episodes, like the Thanksgiving thing, were so similar; even some of the characters had uncanny parallels: Synclair = a sweeter, more innocent Phoebe, Kyle = a much smarter, far less goofy, sassier, metrosexual cross between Joey and Chandler, and Regine = a more independent, sassy, gold digger version of Rachel), but it only ran half as long because the other show just trampled it in the ratings. LS was very successful, just not in the Juggernaut weight class. It is a much more clever and intelligent show, however, and unlike Friends it mostly has aged very well! There aren’t nearly as many modern-offensive gags or storylines here, and the only one I can think of is handled with attitude and grace enough to make it timeless (complete with a credits song from Queen Latifah to drive the point home). It’s also incredibly funny, and easily one of the 90’s best underrated sitcom gems.
I’m sold! Wish I could find it easily
@@darkymakenzy it's on Hulu
It was originally called friends and was NBC actually passed on it.
Ok, boomer!
100% agree
Jaxon totally understanding and appreciating sitcoms being a new story line each episode. He knew his stuff too
Only Frasier had the ongoing story line as well
Alexis, they’re all iconic. Just because you’ve only seen Full House and Friends doesn’t mean they’re the only iconic shows. There’s plenty of iconic 90’s shows.
Right! I loved Living Single, Fresh Prince, Family Matters, Boy Meets World and Sister, Sister.
This video really stressed me out😭🤦🏾♀️. They knew nothing. If I was on the set I would’ve probably cried out of frustration 🤣. I’m born in 2000 and I knew most of these shows.
Them not knowing Home Improvement hurt my heart! That was one of my favorite shows back in the 90s!
Aaughhhh !!!! What killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣was the fact everything he tried to fix something somehow he would make it worse or just end up getting hurt In the process 🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😅u don't know if I want him coming to my house foe home improvements
Martin is a classic 😂 the fact they don’t even know who Martin Lawrence is is crazy
You'd think they'd recognize him from Bad Boys For Life at least.
Ah, yes. The great 90's sitcom Law and Order.
its crazy, Living Single is the OG when friends built on top of it to make it the hit it is.
"They don't look gay"
Me: *Sighs*
I had an absolute blast shooting this episode with everyone!! I definitely have to start binge watching some more 90 sitcoms after my failed attempts 😭😭
Better luck next time lol
Friend's character's Phoebe's twin sister Ursula was originally bad waiter in Mad About You.
Living single is the original friends , friends is the white version of living single
Yesssiiiiiirrrrr!!!!
Janelle and Jaxon made this worth watching!! I have really enjoyed seeing how some of these Reactors have grown through the years.
I was, however, disappointed in Danny's reactions and statements, for most of these - boardering on complete disrespect. These 90's programs meant/mean a great deal to many of us.
When ignorance is masked by "sass" it is very much borderline disrespect. He was obnoxious in this video.
The girl asked if Martin was the guy from daddy day care, Eddie Murphy, and Phil in the background calls Eddie, Cuba Gooding Jr! 😂🤦🏼♀️
I was cracking up on that one too I was dying😂😂😂
we need some more black kids on here 😭
It kinda hurts that most of them didn't know The Nanny. :( Fran Drescher is iconic.
I’m gen z generation (2002) & I knew all of these shows it hurt to sit & watch this☹️🤣 they knew nothing
Danny here's some advice - there's a thin line between sass and plain rudeness, and you've crossed it in this video. Being rude about your own ignorance is even more embarrassing...
I was going to say that I don’t understand why these kids don’t know these shows because growing up in the 90s we were watching shows from the 50s-90s. I Love Lucy, Three’s Company, Facts of Life. But then I remembered…social media.
Back in the 90s old reruns were all we had. Kids today have unlimited content at their fingertips. Unfortunately, they’re probably choosing the wrong stuff to watch. I recommend Roseanne. It’s one of my favorites!
It wasn’t the fact she didn’t know the shows , it’s that they both ripped them and didn’t ever see them. Glad she was actually intrigued with em 😂
who is she?
@@lynnevetter the one who said she got tore up for the last 90’s episode ???
Hearing, "From 1998- 2020." proceeded by, "Very old." just made my bones creak 💀 thanks for calling me old
I must be getting old because these Gen Z-er's got me so pissed off. Not the fact that they didn't know these shows but the disrespect they had for the shows. Out of all the reactors, Danny is the one that really got me going.
The fact that they all only got Full House right is sad. They need to watch some more old shows.
Worse is they probably only got Full House because of Fuller House on Netflix
Seeing an all-black cast and immediently jumping to 'on my block' is wild.
Home Improvement was such a good show. They were the only family on the block that had a blender that could purée a brick. Basically the main character Tim played by Tim Allen was the host of a home improvement show on tv. He always caused accidents, and his assistant Al played by Richard Karn, who you may recognize as a former host of Family Feud, was the knowledgeable one of the two.
Tim Allen is the goat love him un this and last man standing of course the sant clause movies and galaxy quest is 🔥
Just recently re-watched it on Hulu & it was just as great the first time around. So slept on 👏🏽
The “Living Single” love makes my heart happy.
I mean...... This was frustrating lol.
But I don't get why Danny was being so unnecessarily rude. He's usually a sweet kid but just because you don't know what they are, doesn't mean you have to BASH every aspect of them. These shows inspired everything these kids watch now!
That’s what I was thinking
These shows inspired everything they watched? Uh...No. These were sitcoms which are almost extinct now. They also produced 40+ episodes a season. The shows today are not episodic like sitcoms were and they come with far fewer episodes.
@@maplenerd22 ok.
@@maplenerd22 haha, okay. Yet, Living Single, Full House, Martin, Sister Sister and Fraiser play on T. V. While the rest are on streaming services
@@tinawain4187 What's your point? You can have sitcoms on streaming service. Sitcom is a genre. It has nothing to do with the platform that it is aired on. 🤦♂
8:40 To anyone who hasn’t watched The Nanny, just know that Niles is the most savage butler in television. Yes, even more than Geoffrey from Fresh Prince.
That's because he had to stay Sharpe with CC always after him lol.
Dude in the blue striped sweater is trying TOO hard to be sarcastic….it’s not working 😂😂😂😂
its called being a self righteous brat.
I literally grew up watching all of these shows. Nostalgia. Thanks for the memories. To Jonathan Taylor Thomas, wherever you are, I've had a crush on you since I first laid eyes on you, back in the 90's....I LOVE YOU JTT!💕😁
Says a lot when you grew up with Full House but never saw Martin or Living Single like bruh.
Right it was right after
I was so sad when she didn't know martin and I'm only 16
The fact that they didn’t know The Nanny, physically hurt me 🤣🤣🤣
i dont even watch it n iknew it
Honestly Danny pisses me off so much. If my boys when they get to that age are this disrespectful I'm going to be so upset.
I’m gon say this LIVING SINGLE WALKED SO FRIENDS CAN RUNNNN
Janelle need to get in touch with her black side how she didn’t know living single and Martin
I'm traumatized by some comments. "is that Will Smith?" do all black men look alike? 🙄
I honestly have a love-hate relationship with these react 90s episodes, I watch for the nostalgia but some of these kids make me roll my eyes. I'm not getting mad but some of the comments were unnecessary.....
NOT KNOWING MARTIN AND SISTER SISTER IS WILD
Somebody blow these kids minds and tell them that Paul Riser from Mad About You was also Dr. Sam Owens on Stranger Things
Living Single was the original Friends!
Whyyyy do i watch these? They make me feel so old! I've literally seen all of these. I was a teen in the 90s....
None of these kids should feel bad. I lived through the 90s, and I didn't recognize a good 3-4 of them.
Public Service Announcement: For the people that get mad because they don’t know it: introduce things to your kids/cousins/nieces/nephews.
''The outfits were so '90s.''
Probably, because it was the '90s.
🙃
I'm just gonna say being mean is not a personality. I don't know most of these sitcoms, but at least be respectful. It was good for its time - different editing styles, and different technology.
Try not to get at mad at watching teens react to 90s sitcome....I need to see Sharon's reaction to this mess🤣
How did you not put in Family Matters? I wonder if they would have know Urkele
If they only knew friends was inspired by in living single or that Ursula buffay was originally on Mad about you
Jaxon's parents raised him right 😂
He tried. It's hard to be mad at him. Because he really tried. And he usually is the retro guy.
When you’re old this is hard to watch 😂😂
But omg this took me back to such a simpler time 😭
The fact that they NEVER heard of Martin!! 🤯🤯🤯
The crazy thing about the 90’s clothes comments is that they’re all wearing 90’s inspired outfits…😂 I know this, cuz I’m a 90’s baby and a fashion stylist.
When I was their age (in the 90s), I knew about older music and tv shows. I watched Rifleman, Andy Griffin, Gomer Pyle, Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched etc. I jammed to Otis Redding, Elvis, Beach Boys, all sorts of old school singers. This generation has all information at their feet, and yet they know nothing about nothing.
When we were younger (I was born in the very late 1970s) there was a lot less out there vying for our attention. We had computers and consoles with strict technological limitations, virtually no online connectivity unless you dialed into a BBS or used a network like Prodigy, GEnie, or CompuServe, and far fewer television channels (three or four without cable, but even cable was initially limited to movie channels, like HBO).
I think we were able to focus on entertainment from earlier decades because there was less to entertain us, and we didn't have shows, movies, and video games always available to us.
@@MikeTXBC yes they always have them available INCLUDING old shows and old music
I'm 17 and knew all those shows but Dharma and Greg. It's suprising how other Gen Zers haven't heard of them too. A lot of these shows I've watched recently.
I was thinking the same thing! I grew up in the 90’s so I know all of this but I also know a lot of music and shows my mom grew up watching and I enjoy most of them. But these kids nowadays know absolutely nothing
Not Gen z's fault. Blame the parenting of mostly Gen x. My parents raised me on many old shows, movies, music, but I know many that did not get the same.
These children need to learn just because something is classy and simple, doesn’t make it stupid. 🙄
0:41
“The show has run from 1998-2020”
“Very old”
I was born in 98. Now I feel old.
I was born in 85 welcome to becoming old 😆
Sitcoms can stand the test of time in ways that serial shows cannot which why I Love Lucy, Cheers, Friends, The Golden Girls, and Full House are still beloved to this day.
LIVING SINGLE HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW LIVING SINGLE
The nineties was the sitcom era
People don’t know that Living Single was the original “friends”. Thanks for adding the show to this list.
What about Step by Step, Family Matters, Saved by the Bell, and Fresh Prince?
Fr
All i gotta say... these teens are making me thankful for being a 90s kid, i really miss these kinda sitcoms
As a gen Z member who knew majority of these… I’m disappointed 😭 some of these are classics bro
Oh these poor poor poor children. Gotta educate them!!!
Not that deep
All I can say is…. I have second hand embarrassment for all these kids 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️
Same. And after this video, they will NEVER take the time to find out more about ANY of these classic shows.
@@nathanwilliams9866 Me three. I felt extremely embarrassed about the teens.
dear god, they make me feel absolutely ancient!!
aint no way that one girl put on my block with every latino/black cover
Right i noticed that. Weird
Damn. She did that 3 times.
@@chrisaguilar1410 exactly
"She's the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan
She's the flashy girl from Flushing, the nanny named Fran!"
One of the best couplets in all sitcom themes.
Niles was my favorite character in the show.
Man was always a savage, especially toward Cece.
@@Phanthief95 didn’t they end up together?
The level of sass in some of the reactions was OBNOXIOUS! 😒
I never want to see any of them in a video again.
7:02 "Is that Cuba Gooding Sr.?"😂😂😂
That one hurt!!!
that's just sad because martin is a big name in the industry.
bro why do they not know ANYTHING i'm 16 how u don't know MARTIN?? lmaoo
So funny that they said the Rosanne theme song and the Mad About You theme song were the same when they are completely different... they sound nothing alike...lol
I was like "what?" What were they listening to??
I knew every single one of them….also give will and grace a chance…that show is so good!!
"That's not Will Smith...." "uh. Yeah. We know." - great moment. To the kid screaming iMovie.... do it with 90's technology then get back to me.
My thought exactly!
I’m gen Z but da early side of it born in 2000 n grew up with most of these😭
Not knowing Living Single is crazy.
This was honestly a Try to not get Mad for us because the wayyyyy these kids pissed me off! Tik Tok hasn’t shown yall not one clip from ANY of these shows 🫣🫠🙄
I'm 25, but these shows aired in my country when I was a kid. The nostalgia! I am not okay.😭
Get that Jaxon his own sitcom.
He has personality and charm FOR DAYS!
Living Single is the show that Friends is based on. Look it up.
Kind of crazy, they came out so closely.
Living Single Air Date- Aug 23rd 1993
Friends Air Date - Sep 22nd 1994
@@lopp5391 there's an interview out with Queen Latifah talking about what happened.
The fact that I’m younger than them and knew half of these is crazy.
That one girl guessing all the Black sitcoms as On My Block….
Janelle your black card has been revoked. Every black person should know Martin my six-year-old cousin knows Martin.
I got so pissed I stopped watching 🤦🏿♀️
Sigh.....yeah, it was pretty unfortunate she didn't know even that. :(
That kid who keeps on saying iMovie and same kid who said ugliest outfit, didnt know what he's saying.
I'm a later 2000s kid and I've seen a good handful of these in full. I love Will &Grace and the Nanny sm 😭 this hurt my soul
I'm the same age as these people and I knew every single one. This was actually hard to watch lol
I love watching Jaxon's reaction 😭🤣 like it's somehow he's effortlessly funny
I love how Jaxon did the sound for Home Improvement! He's my favorite!
I'm gen Z (17) but still grew up with all these shows because of my mom. I got all but 2. I would've killed this challenge. Very proud of myself. Wish I was a 90's kid sometimes.
You guys are forgetting the other 3 iconic shows that wasn't listed in this video. Family Matters, Boy Meets World and Fresh Prince XD
I am screaming with the producer! For once I know all these shows and they know nothing!!!!!😱😱😱
Fun fact: TC Carson from living Single was the voice actor for Kratos in the original God of War games on PS2, PSP and PS3
I'm a millenial (33), and when I was a teenager I knew every popular sitcom from the 50s to the modern day. This is weird to me. Gen Z only knows modern shit?
Yeah, you should see some of these guys in their earlier years on React. Jaxom is the only kid that consistently knows stuff, not everything but a lot, some of the others are generally clueless and it's notonly these guys the lot of them, they've probably never watched a TV or had any real curiosity as it's fed to them on a massive scale thanks to social media
Curly haired friend is really salty about everything.
"You could just do this in iMovie" yeah my guy... Mad About You came out about 7 years before iMovie was on people's mac's at home... and also... people didn't buy Macs that often because this was before the iPod revived Apple. YOUTHS!
