I like how you set the whole thing up & it kinda emphasized how Connor isn't really there & that this is them making it all up. I've ever seen your stuff before but this is really good!
xxmonster-arts most people didn't show that so it was confusing. This makes it clearer to the viewer, especially if they don't know the background story.
I think that one of the saddest parts of Dear Evan Hansen was that based on the conversation that Evan and Connor had before Connor saw Zoe’s name in the letter, I think that they actually could have become friends. I think that at the time Connor was genuinely reaching out with an olive branch to apologize for pushing Evan earlier and when he saw Evan mention Zoe, he got afraid that Evan was enacting some sort of revenge on him. Maybe if Connor had a friend he might have felt the need to take his own life. With that said, I am not blaming Evan in the situation either, he didn’t expect Connor to pick up the note and read it, he was just doing an assignment his therapist gave him. What makes me like this story is that this is just a series of tragic events that spiral out of control and while some people may disagree with me, I don’t think we are meant to see anyone as a bad person especially not Evan who was dragged into the situation by a pair of grieving parents who felt that Evan could give them closure.
And the actual dance was really like, "Hey bro." "Bro." "Bro." "Bro." "Bro. Don't touch me too much." "Yup, bro." And the animatics are like- "NOT BECAUSE WE'RE GAY BUT LIKE LOOK AT HOW CLOSE WE ARE TO KISSING!"
I second this. You say it's messy, but this animatic is cleaner than others I've seen. It's not that messy animatics are bad, but this is fantastic. Everything is very dynamic and flowy, which is strange to say about an animatic which is meant to be blocky. It's very refreshing.

idiosynchrony to sum up deh Conor Murphy is a kid that took a note from Evan Hansen a social anxiety child that wrote the note to help his issue and when Conor kills himself he has Evans note and his parents suspect that they were friends so Evan and Jared set up fake emails between Evan and conor and in the end the truth is spilled
idiosynchrony Reposting this bc its needed: So let me just explain really quickly AKA SPOILERS . . . . . Evan is told to write these little letters to himself daily to help with his self esteem (Song: Anybody Have A Map?) he goes to the school library to print one out, and thats where Connor shows up, he jokingly (and high) signs Evan's cast, saying their friends now and shit like that (even though this was their first and final time meeting). Connor procceeds to take his paper as it prints, reads it, only to find his sister mentioned in it. Thinking it was a set up and all just a joke, he keeps the note and leaves angrily, claiming that he would "make everything right" or something like that. A few days later, Evan is called over to the principles office, where Connors parents and sister are, and he is informed that Connor committed suicide and that his "suicide note" was addressed to him. Turns out the proclaimed "Suicide Note" was simply the letter Connor had taken from him the other day. When he was questioned and asked if they were close, instead of answering the truth which was that Connor had taken that letter from him, he stated that they were infact close, and that he was there when he had fallen out of the tree (Song: For Forever), and that they had kept this little "email" friendship, when asked to show them later on, he gets Jareds help on creating a dated email adress and hence the song Sincerly Me, the creation of the email responses back and forth.
My AU is that the canon story happens, but then Connor convinces God to rewind time to before he commits suicide so he can try to actually be Evan's friend/boyfriend
