The reason behind why they changed the line to “Hot” is actually pretty funny, the actor of Jared, Will Roland kept breaking character from laughing every time he said the line, so it had to be changed for a bit lol
Evan mimicking Connors movements in 1:43 gives me life. Also the way Connor actually sounds like he's reading the email/rephrasing the email in real time while they're writing it?? This cast is truly amazing.
You ever notice that Jared trying to insert himself into the coreography when Connor and Evan are being buds kinda mimics how he tries to insert himself into their friendship later on-
You know what is harder to accomplish, than making sure your movement and timing is perfect in a choreographed number? Making sure your timing is just a half a beat off and that your movements are just a little awkward. Its Will Roland that has the difficult task to do here.
things in plays stop being funny after enough rehearsal, everyone in our group this one time in drama hated the play after we rehearsed so much, and that was only a small FRACTION of the time broadway actors spend practicing their stuff.
Because the movie is lifeless and boring. There's a lot more emotion from everyone in the musical. And Ben Platt and his character aren't being treated as and all around good person on stage. Basically - because the movie is ass

Both the Film Version and the Broadway Version are fantastic. There is a whole verse missing in the film version though. “We’re close but not that way, the only man that I love is my dad.” That line is missing in the film because of Connor’s Father Larry was changed to be his Step-Father in the film and it makes a bit more sense because Evan’s father is basically non-existent in his life.

there are " DEH slime tutorials" here on yt that you can watch! I recommend the one from the channel "Steven Rosteon Choreography and Broadway Musicals" because it's in fairly good quality. If you don't want to resort to "slime tutorials", some performances from events like "Stars in the Alley" and the Tony Awards, promotional performances on the news like "Today Show", late night shows, and Macy's Thanksgiving Parade are also around although most don't have the stage choreography. The DEH official channel also has some performances posted on there i think, but it's mostly studio records, not live performances.
@@ronweasley4946 yes, I am a musical fan! The hyperventilation of line it not in the original album either but I really hope the no I'm not hyperventilating lines stay in the movie.

@VISION Entertainment it’s both, but yeah he normally would do it when he caught someone filming
The legends say when Jared sees he’s been recorded he says Aye and not kinky
Now we can he says “kinky” in the movie

agree wholeheartedly
It probably has something to do with Evan making it up. So it's more like Connor mimmicking Evan.
I didn't even notice that lol!
You ever notice that Jared trying to insert himself into the coreography when Connor and Evan are being buds kinda mimics how he tries to insert himself into their friendship later on-
Have you noticed how at the beginning Connor mirrors some of Evan's movements because it's Evan talking for and pretending to be Connor?
Yeah, it would've been an amazing trio, kid. :)

Mike Faist dodged a bullet by not being in the Dear Evan Hansen movie.
Also, he was just amazing in the new West Side Story as Riff
This Jared was soo much more enjoyable as a character, compared to the movie.
Yes! So much energy! Film Jared is played as bored and over it. Theater Jared is a troll who is into this for the lols.
