Three weeks later, at Landover, Maryland, November 8, 1979. I experienced my first Grateful Dead concert. And nothings been the same ever since. Well, well, well. You can never tell. 🙈🙉🙊 Look at the darkness from your eyes. Jerry is God. LSD saves. 💛 🦍NFA🦍
Never forget reading the 2nd set setlist of the 1st McNichols 90 show that followed Compton Terrace 12/9/90. Couldn't believe I missed China>Rider>LL Rain, Aiko Aiko, DARK STAR>Terrapin Station. All those heads who patiently waited in line outside in the freezing snow got quite the reward. I still think 12/9/90 is one of the best Hornsby shows I ever saw. That B.T. Wind alone made my weekend in AZ.
Interesting factoid, this was supposed to be the second night of a three-night run at Red Rocks, but it had to be moved to McNichol at the last minute due to heavy rain. The lack of improvement in the weather forced them to have to play at McNichol again the following night. The storm itself was devastating for Denver and the surrounding areas, with multiple road closures and washouts.
Relocated Rain Rocks show 1/2 ⛰➡️🏙 tickets $9.35, start time 7pm delayed until 845. 🚀 afterburner ignites around FOTD, liftoff! Intensely dynamic He’s Gone/TOO 💣 🥁 🌌 eventually a showstopper Truckin’, Sugar Mag encore until 1225am 🚕 back to hotel 🪁 🪐 ⚡️
