I just want to say.. I love all my brother and sisters from dead tour. I feel an eternal connection with all of you and we will be connected till the end
Sneaky-great night at the Coliseum! ⚠️ “standard” setlist just blazes- 1/2 Step gets rolling, spicy Tex-Mex 🌶, great segues, top notch execution start to end! 🚂 1st Casey Jones w/Brent 🙀 ⚡️Extra-crispy sound❗️
Yeah - I was wondering about that note. Can you talk a little more about it? I've never heard about it before. By the way - these notes on the lineage of this show are really cool - thanks!!
Best non NYE run of 79. Best Casey Jones Encore. All three nights, super sick. 10-31-79 is a doozy as well. I have all three shows in my car at all times. And when I don't want to listen to 9-6-80, or anything from 12/31/88 - 7/23/90, The Nassau '79 run is my go to. Crispy boards. 10-31-79 is a better show but that Casey Jones encore, Lazy Lightning, and the Sailor>Saint to give us the goods on the last night of the run can not be beat. Good pick there. I like Dick's SBD Mix best. My Opinion only. I think the Matrix paradigm has it's heart in the right place, however I think an 80%SBD/20%AUD is a better ratio. Just to get a feel of the crowd and the room. If you have ever listened to Any straight DSBD on say old Wall of Sound Cabinets with the low 8 watt tubes in a pre-amp, 14" JBL speakers, and tweeters up top in the cabinets that were refurbished by an old head up in Humboldt County, I would say you may not ever go back to listening to too many Matrixes unless mixed properly. I heard my friend's system a few times and was blown away each time. His coffee table is Jerry's 4 Speaker Guitar monitor he used from '82-'84 so he knows his shit I guess. I just love it all I guess. Try 9-10-83 for a straight FOB if you want a killer sounding audience that might as well be a soundboard. Incredible what this band was doing their entire career.
Hey B! Yeah this run is amazing, and I can tell you are a serious Brent-era Head which I love lol. As for the SBD vs AUD vs Matrix debate, we all have our preferences - I happen to think Hunter's mixes are almost always just exactly perfect - but the really cool thing is that we have all these different sources and community members in the first place that enable us to argue about it!
Ooooooohhhh no....✌😎👍....thanks man, saw a ton of shows there....was there in the 90's when someone broke the glass and everyone rushed in lol...not me...I was a mail order kind of guy LOL....wish you could post Commack Long Island Arena....NOW THATS old school ✌
to the simply gorgeous redhead who asked me out in the parking lot that night after the show , and was more than a wee bit perturbed and insulted when i wouldnt get us a room , so sorry sweetie but my soon to be wife and i were searching for her missing brother and we split up to find him, not sure if i am glad she didnt see you stealing that kiss from me or not, but u did cap off what was an incredible night , except for the part where i had to learn the hard way, to let her pass by let her pass by
