It shouldn’t surprise me that Jordon probably has the best broken backboard dunk in history, but I really expected Shaq to win this one.
I can’t believe the poster of this video put it as 3rd best. Jordon jumps over a huge guy from one step past the free throw line, proceeds to fly through the air and dunk with one hand. He then then shatters the backboard raining glass on 4 opponents while he smoothly walks out the way. Every opponent is holding up their hands shielding their eyes and faces from the falling glass. I don’t know if that one can ever be topped.
Shaq taking out the whole 🏀 basketball hoop, pole and scoreboard without shattering the backboard should be No.1 not No. 2

I remember big country breaking the backboard during a practice at the final 4 in Seattle. I was in the crowd. Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse were the star players for North Carolina. How time goes by so fast.

Those old setups had bolts or something else going through the glass to hold the rim on, which means the force/power of someones dunk went right in to the glass, causing it to break sometimes. After those days, they redesigned the whole apparatus so that no force is exerted on the glass, and also so that the rest of it should be strong enough to withstand dunks. And somehow, Zion Williamson has managed to damage a couple of them. lol
