I had an hour or so to spare this past weekend, so I drove to the farm about 45 minutes away from my home. I'm not sure if there has been an issue with souvenir hunters, but the farmyard now has filled with dense caragana-type trees which makes viewing the yard from the road difficult. The barn is noticeably leaning now. That film meant alot to me growing up and still means alot to me today, albeit for different regions. I love these views of Alberta, and when I pass the King Eddie it always makes me giggle to know thats where Superman got shitfaced that one time. Great video, thanks for sharing!
on behalf of us fans of superman christopher reeves thank you for sharing your time and effort in creating and showing parts of were superman was filmed.
Yes! I also remember the first time seeing this movie at a neighbor's house. There were 6 of us neighborhood kids. Each of us came with a parent, older sibling, aunt/uncle. That was the only house with a colored television and VCR, as they were called then in 1981. Understand that it's a rural town in backward country in Central Asia. You could all imagine the wonder and how we youngsters marveled at it all. Golden times! RIP Christopher Reeve.
What an absolutely magnificent filming location video of my favorite movie of all time. There will never be another superman in my honest opinion. Christopher reeve is was and always will be the one and only best Superman. Thank you for this wonderful trip down memory lane.
I was 5 years old as i got my first comic book and it was Superman. Believe it or not i learned to read by myself because i wanted to know what they were talking about in this comic book. This Superman movie was the first movie i have ever seen in a cinema as well. I was there with my parents. It was the only time i went to the cinema with them (long story) and it is one of my best memories of my childhood. Beside this i went through a lot of hard times as a kid and as a teenager as well but (beside someone else you surely know) Superman was always a torch of hope to myself, reminding me that if you believe and you are taking your fate in your hands better times will come. It was always Supermans character himself not his superpowers which made him to me a hero. The famous "S" on his chest stood truly as a symbol of hope to me and it still does. I wish for the kids nowadays that they made a similar experience like i did. All the best to you who ever read this.
This is absolute GOLD! I was ten in 1978 when I watched in the best theater in town. I'm from Edmonton, Alberta and proud that is was partly shot in my home province. Christopher Reeves will always be Superman to me. Not just because he acted in the movie but the way he always carried himself off screen. Despite his paralyzing injury he persevered and gave hope to others. This is so well done Herve and my respects to you and your team for sharing this to all Superman fans like myself. Cheers!

There have been a few actors to fly the red cape, but Christopher Reeves will always be my favorite Super Man. I was a 10 year old boy when Superman hit the theaters. I did believe a man could fly. R.I.P. Christopher Reeves. All us Superman fans miss you!!!
This was my favorite so far, long live Christopher Reeve, he set the standard for Superman so high that I don't think anybody has been able to match it.

This gave me chills and goosebumps! The score by John Williams is really immortal. And the locations are nothing short of sacred for fans of this masterpiece on film! Thank you for sharing this.
I think Christopher Reeve is the most handsome Superman. First time I saw this movie on 1979. I was 9 years old. Oh my God. It is very good film for Me. Those effects are best at that moment and even over the years. R.I.P. Christopher Reeve. We will remember You, (also as the part of my life).
"This is no Fantasy" These are the first words Marlon Brando says at the beginning of Superman 1978 and these real world locations brought us from a Comic Fantasy into a Real World . As an 8 year old I got to see Superman when it first came out in 1978 . Christopher Reeve truly made me believe a man could fly.
What an awesome piece of work this is! Well done to you buddy. Gave me goosebumps at times. I love the fact that the farm locations are all still there, just as they were in 1978! Amazing! Loved this. Thank you.
Im from Sevilla..... South of Spain... Im 43 years old... And always about at my whole life... Superman its my favorite movie...i was born In december 1978.. Movie was shooted about 1978.....i love superman movie.... Great actors.... Great movie for see once and once again... I have listened soundtrack too..... I love the locations.... Allmost places its about canada.... Would be very fun can do it a trip
That was so excellent that you were able to track down those sites You are indeed a "Superman" for going to that effort ! I loved Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman ! I remember when I was working (in the projection room as an assistant projectionist) at the Capitol Theater (Designed by Walter Burley Griffin) in Melbourne around 1980 where we showed Superman The Movie for around 10 months ! It looked awesome on our Big Screen ! Thank you for bringing back so many memories for me :)

WOW.., Christopher Reeves is a true legend.. and always will be..! He'd made me believed in the Commic Books Supper Man in my up bringing back in Hawaii. CL of 78.
The helicopter hanging off the top of the skyscraper was at Pinewood film studios. A short distance away was a large half model of the Golden Gate Bridge with a model school bus still on it, as was the helicopter still on the roof, I saw when a friend who worked in special effects ( in the film credits) took me around one day after the film had been made and the sets were still there.
The amount of work (and money invested ) to give us this 15min reel of pleasure is phenomenal! Thank you sir!❤ Ps:: The Superman t-shirt scenes were hilarious 🤣
and he found the right weather too. superdedicated,i'm impressed. it's strange that they don't build some sort of museum, but maybe the movies are too old in peoples memories
Thank you so much! You obviously love this classic film. As lovingly edited as the original. The scene with Martha and Clark in the wheat field is one of my favorite. Luckily I've visited some of the same NY scenes at the exact spots. People looked at me curiously, as I put my hands together in the shape of a camera frame and panned (this was before smartphone cameras).
Holy cow that was awesome! And on top of the awesome video I learned I lived in Lois Lanes apartment building at 240 Central Park South in 2006/7 ! When I lived there I even visited some of the Superman landmarks and little did I know I was in one! Thanks.
Wow i must go to NYC and take pics of the filming locations of the Superman film (1978). Superman is my favorite superhero....Christopher Reeve played the best Superman and Clark Kent
This is almost 10yrs old. I don’t know how I missed it. I’ve been a long time subscriber. Thank you for making this video. Great work! If you’re still around, I hope you will make more.
Matur nuwun, Mister Herve. Upaya anda mengingatkan saya akan sosok si manusia baja, Superman, yang sangat pas diperankan Christopher Reeve. Sedih melihat rumah Clark Kent yang tidak terawat. Bagaimanapun, karya anda patut diacungi jempol.
Outstanding video. The attention to detail on this one is just extraordinary. As a huge fan of both the Man of Steel and the Chris Reeve movies depicting him, thank you so much for filming this.
thank you so much for this video Herve, at some times it made my hairs on my arms stand up thats how beautiful this video is keep doing your great work.

Probably the best superman movie ever up until now with all the advancement in film making non ever top it the story the actors and the fantastic music of John Williams Superman 1&2 is all time best
Amazing video. Always been a huge fan of the movie but just found this today. Seeing those rural Canadian buildings still intact after 35 years is amazing. The back alleyway was another great find.

Fantastic job! I just watched the movie again today; I would pay a lot of $ to go back to 1978 just to watch the people reaction in the cinema when Superman rescues Lois for the first time.
Superbly done as all of your locations videos.
