New subscriber! I was torn between this and the steebook, I think I actually prefer this version, even if discs are stored that way.

Thanks for the video, it's a big help as it's the first time I could get any kind of a clarification of how the disc is stored.
I've had this on order (plus the Steelbook) for months.
The Digipak is now due on Monday 6, January. But, because of the (crap) way the disc is stored I am going to cancel it. I don't think I'll be the only one.
Why do WB and retailers not tell us - or better still show us - exactly what we're buying before we do?
I'll wait for the steelbook or/and a standard release.
Wed 1st Jan - just been told I'm getting the Steelbook on the 6th - worked out well as I'll watch it on the 7th.

Nice -- they're showing this restoration in IMAX out here in a few weeks!

Why is yours came in with the crease? That’ sucks

Mine came with a crease and without the strip on top actually saying it's a 4k

What more could we want? An actual 4k restoration for starters. No AI upscaling. New special features. Better packaging. Dolby Atmos/Vision haha sorry I appreciate the review all the same

Is it not a native 4k scan? Is it a 2k upscale?

Aparently it was rescanned and mastered in 8k and down sampled to 4k. All visual effects / touch ups were also rendered at 8k. So I think this is a legit 4k remaster

@@IngiDee I see. My mistake. I heard there was AI applied and figured that meant it was widely used for the whole film but apparently it was just for the VFX (which I am not happy about but can understand why he’d want to do that). I am going to the IMAX showing tonight so I’ll get a very good look of it although I don’t know how representative an imax DCP would compare to the 4k disc. Still not happy about the other stuff I mentioned.

@@jonathannoble9465 yeah, he might not have had the luxury of going to the original negative for all the effect shots. Same problem with most big 4ks like fifth element...etc.

@ okay so I just got out of the IMAX screening which was apparently the 8K version. Looked and sounded great. The AI was used at the end to help focus Kevin Spacey in the cop car. All good
