Thanks, Age! Yeah, it's kind of wild to see how it changed over the years. Guess we'll have to go back again next year to check it out. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Beauty spot for sure! The power of water, eh. We’ve had some pretty good storms on the island in recent years, they’d definitely produce a ton of water for that river to get raging. Great video, keep em coming 👍🏻 If we cross paths in the backcountry I’ll be sure to say hi. Cheers.
Yeah, it's pretty awesome to see the changes. Will have to go back next year and see how it changed again. Please do say hi if you should see us around👍. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Love seeing your relaxing camping videos. Crazy to see how much the river is eroding and that tree is barely hanging on. So glad to hear you got positive feedback on your last video and sharing locations.
Thank You! We love this place and it is interesting to see how it's changed over the years. We'll have to check it out again next year. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
What a beautiful spot, love the colour of the water. The erosion is really something to behold. Glad you had a nice weekend of having a good site, good weather, and good times. 👍
Thank You, Daryl! It's pretty awesome to see the changes over the year. We'll have to make it point to go back next year and compare again. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Have you tried using a Thermacell for the mosquitoes? I have had some luck with mine. It works as long as it isn't too breezy. If the wind is blowing they aren't much of a problem anyway.
Thank you for sharing our beautiful country with those of us who can't get out to enjoy it. In my case, "Yet" !! You're 'Fantabulous' camera work is giving us the feeling that we're viewing this with our own eyes!
Thank You for your kind words 🙏. We are really just trying to film what we see, or how we see it. It makes us happy to hear that we can bring across a sense of "being there".
Thank You! Our awning is from Overland Vehicle Systems, and so is our tent. We are really happy with the company and they are budget friendly as well. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
You can put this on a list of one of the best spots you both have camped at in my opinion. What a great find you guys nailed it and the color of that water😳👍
We`ll pass on the trail someday, me on my old 1980`s Honda 250XL. Just blew by this spot 3 days ago again on the way to headwaters and yesterday spent the day in the lower valley...crossed the bridge down there etc. Mt Arrowsmith is now closed for the season so I`ll be roaming these parts a lot more for the remainder of the year.
Ok funny story since my comment yesterday. My wife and I enjoy your content and often watch together and always enjoy recognizing the spots as places we either have been together or places I have explored on my motorcycle. As I said this one had me stumped but I had a pretty good idea of the location. My wife said “let’s go for a drive this afternoon and check it out” Anyway long story short, we found it 😎 But as we arrived there were 3 other vehicles who all looked to have just recently arrived ! Do you guys think it was just a coincidence? Or were we all fans of backroad journals ? Haha. I should have asked them but we just turned around and carried on exploring this beautiful area. I think your reach is larger than you think 😊
That's funny! Good on you guys for finding it! There must have been someone in that spot just before we got there as well, as we found a block of ice when we drove in. We also had two other vehicles driving by and wanting to get into that spot, but they moved on right away. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Imagine the volume of water required to reshape the river bed like that. That bank has to be 5-6 feet above ground level, yet it’s being sucked downstream. I wonder if that is by storm or simply by freshet…
I'd say it's about 6-7 feet above ground for sure. Camera just does not bring it across that way. We don't really know either. We visit this place quite a lot and have never seen the river bed completely flooded, though I'd imagine that's what caused it. The soil is also really soft there. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Can't help but notice from the drone, they logged right down to the river bank on one side! I'm pretty sure that's illegal, it is where I live anyway. It causes erosion and sediment flowing into the water which is terrible for the fish and everything else living in there. Someone isn't logging by the rules.
That is a good catch👍! I actually had to look at the footage again, and it sure looks like it. Logging is a bit of contentious issue in our area. Not that logging is not important, just the way they are going about it, especially one company.
@@backroadjournals I'm a forestry worker myself so I completely understand the need for forestry. Truth is that we can do it in way that doesn't cause unnecessary harm to the forest and everyone else using it, so we should! It's a win-win scenario.

It's amazing how powerful the rivers and streams become once the rains come!

What is the brand of the chairs you are using? I'm looing for a hi-back
They are a Costco brand. Not the most comfortable, though.
