- After weeks of organising, everything was booked and the routes were planned. Norway was finally happening! Until at the last minute, a chav named James decided he would throw a great big Ford shaped spanner in the works!

Thanks to everyone for your best wishes, only walking wounded but it wasn’t as easy on the motorway’s as I hoped it would be with my aching joints and bruises and only 40 hours after the crash😂. Still, the adventure is on😀
No crash is fun. Glad to hear it wasn't worse, shipmate. Did they get the drug driver?
Still no news, I’ve sent in the paperwork the police sent, just waiting for the outcome. Having done a runner there wouldn’t have been any evidence of drug or drink driving, the only offences in the paperwork the police sent were leaving the scene of a collision and not reporting a collision, so not likely to get much or anything if he does get prosecuted. 🙈
I hope you grow to love the Z1000SX as much as I love my one 👍
A proper story teller is Ian 😊.Good to see he made the trip👍🏻
So glad that Ian is OK and very glad that he made it. Looking forward to this series Andy 👍
Ian is a legend, glad he's well.
I live in Aus now, but remember just how many junctions you find in England. So many opportunities to get rear ended and t-boned.
It definitely seems like rear ending is a Britain thing. 🫣
What a herculean effort by Ian to make the trip, glad he is ok, can't wait to see the rest of the vlogs.
I am so glad Ian is OK but Holy Moly what a test of patience and a measure of determination. Poor Andy, you must have been sh*tting bricks knowing all this was going on just days before the trip.
You’re not wrong there Neil! Thanks to Ian’s determination it all turned out well!
I can relate to turning up at a crash to be relieved to see walking wounded.
So glad he’s ok. Can’t wait to see the rest of the trip
Man! What a tornado Ian went through!
Dizzy just listening to it!
It took a good few days for us to believe it was really happening!!
Ahhh - a summer series is JUST what the soul needs to help pass these cold, dark and wet winter days whilst we wait for life to return... Thx Andy!!! :)
I do what little i can!
Oh sweet Jesus what a start to the trip, glad Ian was alright! Nearly spat my Latte Maccchiato up the wall upon hearing you can buy a bike, and pick I up the very next day in the UK......what! 👌🤦♂️🤣
Unthinkable, i know!! Those crazy insel-affen!
What a great story. I live right near Tamworth and know the dealer well. Fabulous
We didn’t think it was great as the trip was sliding down the khazi! 😂
Yeah, top lads at Sutton Motorcycles. I use their Tamworth branch often (currently under referb) for my kit. When my zip broke on my jacket, they contacted Merlin and they had my jacket shipped out with one of their people, to Italy, and it was repaired, at no cost to me. Sad that they gone to Triumph and Honda now. Now gotta get triumph kit. Oh well, good job I got a Triumph bike. They were top notched when I got my 125 from them ages ago as well.
Its weird hearing local places to me hahahahaha
Glad to hear it mate. It's refreshing to hear that some dealerships are still leaving customers happy. It seems they are a dying breed!
What a saga. All's well that ends well. Have a good trip.
Absolutely! Just made the whole trip that much more amazing!
Doing this type of “cross country “ ride in the USA is like a dream/ bucket list deal for me …. Would love to down size , into a small camper with bike trailer or something and spend the last years of my life discovering the country ….maybe even convert my Xterra into a small sleeping area with a tow hitch ….envious of you guys
That sounds like a great plan. There was a bucket list element to this trip in relation to Ian’s recent kidney transplant. So what I’m saying is, do it before you can’t do it!
Didn't expect to see sutton motorcycles mentioned let alone in a positive light.
I guess everybody has different experiences. I'm sure there are people over here that have had great experiences with Honda dealerships. But I personally wouldn't touch them with roadkill!
Ian is the real deal. 24 hrs to go, no bike no problem 😂 looking forward to seeing how the adventure pans out. Happy New year!
Oh shit its what i would of said.....hahaha nah, glad it all turned out good for Ian looking forward too the Series andy.
happy new year too ya.
Regards Glenn 👍
Just watched this again time and it's even better second time around. What an absolute corker of a story and epically narrated by Ian whilst he comes to terms with riding on the wrong side of the road! Currently sat here constructing an email to Sutton Motorcyles telling them what absolute legends they are and wondering why my local dealers (CH) would never be able to provide anywhere near the same level of service as Ian has received!!??!! Bloody good episode this one Andy, congratulations.
Thanks very much! Great that the dealerships who are doing a good job are getting the recognition they deserve. It seems that they are few and far between nowadays!
Loved this laid back vid😊. Good conversation between the pair of you
Thanks B C. Our plan was to try and keep the whole tour nice and laid back!
Finally! Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Norway. Can't wait for the next YT 😊
Part three on the way!
All that anguish because some nob wasn't paying attention. Glad it all worked out well in the end, Andy.
08:25 god, when I got my bike I had to wait for 3 weeks to get my plates and get it registered. My vacation would be long over if I got my bike totaled a few days before the trip.
Yeah we were so lucky that he could get back on the road so quick! It would also take me ages to get a new machine on the road. My Aprilia sat in the street for 2 weeks before i could actually ride it!! Frustrating!!
Great to see Ian back on the channel and I hope he's fit and well these days
Really looking forward to watching this trip.
I’m really looking forward to getting it out there!
Looking forward to the Norway series! The bike has been parked for two months, need a booster through your videos. 😁
Hope it’s been helping!
What a great story! And a great story teller!
Cheers TZ. Ian does love a good waffle!
What a great start! Looking forward t this one
Just have to watch the series after this start !
I emplore you to do so! 😃
👍Looking forward to the trip series
Hi mat, glad your mate made it, we need your route map buddy, and had I known that you2 guy`s where heading "my way" coffee would have been ready - do remember that nxt time mate.
and, I`m relly looking forward to see this trip.
btw: Happy New Year Andy, and best wishes from Northern Denmark
HNY to you too!
Well, this was a very relatable story. I’ve taken that ferry, and got rear ended this summer, as I was breaking for some sheep in the middle of the road, up in the Norwegian mountains. Then I got a new bike. 😁
Sincerely, a Norwegian dude
That’s annoying, even if you did get a new bike!
Jeez! What a start. Looking forward to the series 👍
What a crazy story, glad it all worked out!😊
What a start and what a story, Ian, wow. This is already epic, and it’s just the first episode teaser. 🔝🎥🎬
What a rollercoaster of events. Glad to hear it worked out in the end and Ian was ok.
Looking forward to the next episode.
Cheers.
Still astonished that it did go ahead at all!
Wow. My take away is I’ll be watching my mirrors at T-junctions even more in future! Can’t wait to see the fun in Norway.
Sound advice!!
An awesome video!
Looking forward to the trip vid. This should be epic! Happy new year mate and thanks for sharing your content with us.
My pleasure entirely Stephen. Cheers!
A most excellent intro. Norway awaits. Looking forward to this one.
Safe, happy travels 👍
Looking forward to this one!
Should be a good one!
Buckle up, been looking forward to this
Wow quite the story 🤓😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦. Glad it all turned out 🍻
Oh my ! cant wait for the rest of the trip Cheers Glenn
Coming soon mate! Should be a good one, i hope!
Blimey! What a start to the trip!!. But no bad injuries or worse...and a fab trip and adventure to follow! Cheers, Steve
What a 🔔 for driving off
I’ve had my SX for 4 months and love it. Some good lads at Sutton had 2/3 of my bikes from them.
Bigtime. As if the pub full of people with cameras hadn’t captured him already! Very happy to hear that there are good dealerships out there! Balances my experiences a bit!
That brings the saying “Where there’s a will there’s a way” to a whole new level! Well done Ian for finding that way! Really looking forward to the rest of this series Andy..👌
Wow that is some story. Glad Ian is OK amd the trip went ahead. He will remember that
Definitely! Unforgettable trip!
how brilliant
What a story! What a guy! Top Man.
He REALLY wanted for this trip to happen!!
What an effort from Ian. Top fella!
He really pulled out the stops. If i didn’t know any better, I’d think he really wanted to go on this trip! 🤣
What at build-up/start to a trip! 😮 Glad Ian is ok and here to tell the tale!… Really looking forward to this one Andy after seeing all you pics etc at the time! 👍😎
You can’t write this stuff!
What a treat this is going to be 😊 As a norwegian rider it will be interesting to see which roads and routes you chose to ride. We are blessed with nice roads, but cursed with a short riding season.
Been looking forward to this, bring on the tour
You and me both! I’m so happy i can finally get stuck in!
Wow! What an adventure! I ride a Kawasaki Z1000SX and I'm sure your buddy will be very happy with it. A bit late catching up with this adventure but looking forward to the rest of it.
Best trip of my life so far mate. Loved it! Sadly the Kawasaki didn’t grab Ian and he’s traded it for a Tiger 1200!
@@AndyManCam so long as he's happy with his bike that's all that matters 😁
Absolutely right! 👊🏻
Hopefully the rest of the trip goes better 😎👍🍻
And he's going to Norway with the rain meister ... that man must really love your mother. Fair play Ian, one hell of a stressful few days ... looking forward to the series now lads, keep up the chit chat, it's what makes the vids as well as the scenery and the odd overtake ... "there was room" ...
He has proven himself over and above!
So where are you going in Norway? There's so much so see and drive up here. 😁
All will be revealed!
"Why don't you just get another bike"? Your Mum's a keeper no question! I guess Ian really wanted to make that trip happen huh? Looking forward to this...👍 Hopefully enough episodes to get us through the winter....🙂
At some point it would be interesting to know the outcome of the insurance and police situation? It’s a possibility that there might be an insurance penalty even if deemed a no fault claim.
a true whistle stop tour!
The whistleyest!
Memories... many moons ago I was going to Norway on my 3 1/2 moto morini when 19 miles up the road the brand new chain snapped and wrecked the cases. Rest of the holiday was spent tracking down a replacement engine, collecting it and fitting it to the bike. It made it the following year.. how I miss that direct ferry to Bergen ....
What a great story :)
The best stories are always the true ones! 😂
Crikey! After all that, he deserves a brilliant trip!
I know right!! I felt awful hearing about it unfolding, just moments before we were due to leave!! 🤦🏻♂️
Dude, my hands get sweety listening to this story.
It’s a cracker! Still can’t believe it turned out ok!
Hi Andy hope you are well just watched your tet video where you had snow trouble and I take it your very busy with work but wondered if perhaps you’ve got some more new stuff coming out on your aprilia can’t wait to see some more videos I think I’ve seen nearly all your videos hope you ok take care ride safe
STEP DAD IAN, great to see you again mate and glad you made it in on piece. Andy been looking forward to this tour mate 😃🏍️💨
Quality story!
He really went through the ringer!
What an epic tale from woe to new bike! 😀
Which he has now already traded up!
@@AndyManCam BLAM 😀
No messing!
@@AndyManCam 😀
Suttons Bromsgrove is my local honda dealer .Im meeting a mate there next week we always meet up when he takes his bike in for a service 😀.
Steve is a top bloke, when you see him next say hello from me. I use their Tamworth Honda branch for the VFR (or I did)!
What a story 😮😮😮 👏
WOW. !!!
😂Great story👍🏻
At least he’s alive!
Very true indeed! I think he saw that as even more reason why he should pick himself up and get on that trip!!
Whew...that's what I'm talking about, get all the wiggly bits out in the open at the beginning of the video LOL...All the stressors Ian had would of made me cancel the trip LOL. Glad to see he got it all sorted and made the trip with you. I'm very interested in seeing Norway.
On another note, was Shaun in Spain at the time of this ride? I've gotten used to seeing you two together on long trips like this.
Take care and hopefully I'll see you in the Alps one of these days.
Brilliant 👌👌👏👏👏🙏😎
Cheers Tony!
what a story🎉, when you want to go, you want to go 😂
YT never told me you were on, despite me being on YT all day. That SX is a fabulous bike, my brother had one.
RUclips officially hates me!
wow, and I thought that I was a bit mad picking up a new bike a week before the trip ;)
Madness isnt it! I’m still a little amazed that it actually worked!! 😂
Well lets hope thats all the bad put to bed for this trip!
Pretty much. But into every life, a little rain must fall! 😂
Soooo... has anyone managed to track James down yet? Im sure as a fine, upstanding member of the chav community, he'll have seen the error of his ways, and will right now be saving for a new VFR subframe.
No worries in Norway with the wind protection, I hear the speed limits are so low that fairings are just there to keep the engine warm.
Glad it all worked out and Ian got out of it one piece.:D
so what happened to the perp in the car ??
and im looking forward to seeing my country trough your eyes 😁
Crikey! A comedy of errors. Thankfully able to be laughed at. Looking forward to seeing the future parts to this series.
Even though it was very last minute I''m kind of surprised Ian went with the SX1000 if I'm honest. I think in his shoes I'd have gone for a low mileage Honda ST1100 Pan European...then when he got back, your Mom could have persuaded him to sell the VFR....🤣
000000 can't wait 😃
That’s two of us! I’d better get working!!
Not the start you need to any trip! Glad Ian was ok, can’t believe the little scrote drove off, hope the police caught up and threw the book at him!
Just briljant 🙏🙏👍
Thank you Paul. 🙌🏻
"Hi darling, I just nearly got killed by some drugged up kid going into the back of me", "Oh, you poor thing. Why don't you just go get another bike". How much life insurance have you got? Great story, well-told! 😂
Haha! Never thought of it like that! Mum was probably thinking „hmmm so the guy i paid failed his mission….“
I thought you’d got rid of the Honda for the KTM.
And you thought right. This is still the same series of vids that I recorded when I still had the Honda.
HOLY FUCK, i would be dead of stress if was me. I take my hat of for him jesus christ want a biker. Can´t wait to follow you to on the trip to Norway. Yours sincerely The Danish Viking.
We were both close! 😂
Phew !😥
So, was the Kawi more comfortable for your friend than the Honda for you?
🤟
👍🏻💪🏻🙌🏻
I've not been in the wrong place at the wrong time for decades, so I have to wait for my bike to become too unreliable in order to buy a new one. That shouldn't take too long with the modern, electronic laden bikes produced today.
Haha! It’s funny because it’s probably true!
God made humans with mouths to speak through and hands to keep on the handle bars when your riding 🤪🏍️
😴 💤
Ok 👍👌 Andy slava Ukraine
Glad you're friends ok bikes can always be replaced . Can't wait to see this tour I want to do it in 2023 🏔️🏍️🏍️😁
The SX is a gorgeous bike but man alive its hard on the arse and wrists.
It turns out, not nearly as hard as the CB1000R!!
I can relate to turning up at a crash to be relieved to see walking wounded.
So glad he’s ok. Can’t wait to see the rest of the trip
