Having this exact issue, green gunk and drops of water from the moment I cut it open.. piss poor from KTM/Husqvarna to design like this! Thanks for the info 👍
Great, found exactly that on two TPI's. On one I didn't cause any problems on the other it caused the bike to cut out while riding. really cheap stuff KTM uses here :(
Sit me selfde probleem. as ek aan harnas peter dan gaan spark weg en kom terug. al daai terminations is soldeer en harnass is gestrip. vermoed draad is af in isolasie? multimeter toets als so ver reg en meganies voel draade ook reg. motor is oorgedoen heeltemal en nuwe crank case pressure sensor, nuwe reeds ook. voel ek kan die ding brand steek maar wil eers die vout kry want dit pla my. ds al 6 maande... enige ander idees? hoe verskil die 2022 se harnass? is harnass issue uitgesort en sal ekhom kan re-pin tot op die 2018?
My 21 se harnas is heeltemal verander. Die swak punte is uitgehaal. Ja die drade is af binne die isolasie. Mens sien dit nie tot als afgehaal word. Daar is nog n plek in airbox onder ecu waar drade afskaaf. Hul gaan na die relays toe. Asook soms die main 20A fuse by starter solenoid kry water en kan dit ook veroorsaak.
Nice video! My bmw has the same style bundle of the end of the wires connected with one crimp connection. That was in the interior of the car behind the dashboard and it still wasn’t that strong anymore after moving it and disturbing it when i did some wiring to the car. So basically i did the same thing as you to fix the issue. How this is considered waterproof outdoors on a dirt bike or motorcycle is beyond me.. Just cheaper and easier to assemble a wiring harness like that and then on top of that not use heat shrink style waterproof connrctions and either good ones or just have a machine solder them all together like the OP explained. Its not that hard to do at the factory..
I drowned my 18’ ktm 250 tpi, completely under water (fell off a bridge) Tipped the bike and got the water out the pipe, and then took the spark plug out and drained all water in top end, put a new plug in and the bike started and went for another 8kms before bogging and dying on a steep tech uphill. The bike still has all the compression. It doesn’t want to start, eventually when it does it idles for a few seconds before bogging out again. Could it be this? Or is it more major- injectors, stator etc. that got wet? It’s going in to be fixed, but just wandering what could have possibly happened.
I would check everything from fuel pump to ccps if it was submerged even the relays under the seat. Disconnect all plugs clean them and assemble. Also you can hang the injectours out and crank the motor see how they spray.
I had no CEL. But with fault finding i came to that spot. Tracing where you have V and where its missing then tracing in between. Altleast i see on my 22 the wiring issues have been attended to. There is another mod I've done to my TPI to make the topend last longer. Video will be up soon.

Exact problem. There was zero power to ignition, fuel pump etc. One small wire was broken. Fixed! Thank you.

Hey mate, my bike bogged and just stopped. I still have fuel & spark.. Do you think it could be the case? Before I start hacking my wiring.
Either that or feul filters. Also in rare ocasions where no maintenance happens you will find the piston as culprit. Just test the compression also.

Those Austrians are pretty fine engineers, but they have always been horrible with the wiring.

For real. That's car interior wiring style for all the small ground wires, etc.
Definitely not vibration/shock rated fot that or exterior use..
