had the grom for a little over a half year, it's been fantastic for exploring the mountains of Japan. I did upgrade my suspension, stiffer springs and fork oil in the front, a fake ohlin rear shock that works well. I also squeezed a high exhaust on it to make the bike a little more thin to get through tight spots. also, the slow speeds of the grom are perfect for exploring and soaking in the views.
Totally agree! Almost 66 and sold my CRF300L and got a GROM. The Mrs has a Ruk and we trailer them in our camperized cargo trailer and it takes just minutes to load, tie down and hit the road to wherever we want to explore next. The 300L was too heavy, too TOP heavy and with a 35” seat height and 30” inseam… Add vertigo, pogo stick suspension and a quick stop, that suspension would rebound me backwards…great for vertigo…lift me off the ground, dizzy and reaching for the ground, by the time I got a foot planted on the ground the top heaviness and narrow stance and sloping terrain…over I go. I absolutely LOVE My 23 GROM! It’s all I ever wanted, it will take me anywhere and just this past weekend, both the Mrs and I had to lift both bikes over a 24” log…put in place to prevent crossing an old log logging road bridge! Wouldn’t do that with any other bike!👍🍺🇨🇦
Having met a handful of RUclipsrs over the years. I really appreciate how chill you are. It's hard to tell who's genuine and who's for show. Real nice to meet you and Ashley, thanks for the patch at the Expo.
Definitely the first two up '22 Grom that has done that trail. Great proof that you don't need a big bike to go on awesome adventures. #SATGromventures
Meeting you at the expo was so much fun, especially for my 5 year old son. He watches all your vids with me. Thanks again for the sat van patch and caprisun for the kiddo. Next time the overland expo comes through I hope to camp instead of being a one day visitor.
It was great meeting the 2 of you Saturday, thanks for the hospitality. The shade and Hoist's definitely saved my butt with my long day. The 2 of you on the Grom is probably close to 1 of me. I might have to get one for shits n giggles when the stock money comes in. Sorry I spaced, happy birthday Ash. I'll hopefully catch up with you guys again soon.
Think this was one of your best vlogs. You and Ashley on the Grom going through that beautiful scenery. Those drone shots were great, gave me the willies when you were close to the canyon edge. Keep them coming!!
Watch Honda come out with a activity specific Grom after this video. I've seen more around here near Camp Lejeune. Military members seem to be buying these.
I always find it interesting that when I look for a product review, you always pop up and cover everything I’ve been interested in through the years. Trucks, ebikes, knives, the grom. 😂
This is the first video I watch of yours, I instantly had to subscribe I love how you went the extra mile in providing the drone footage as an intro to what we’re getting into it felt more like an experience than just another motorcycle review.
We did this exact trip in my 2017 Ram 2500 diesel in May. Didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into, but it was an epic trip. Enjoyed your ride. Brought back memories!
Awesome trail and you would not find allot of ladies sitting on the back having an adv in that style ride like that and still high-fiving. Awesome to see the GROM just handling it like a champ.
I have heard the sand referred to as "moon dust" by fellow riders while in Zion. It caused me to wreck resulting in a fractured tib/fib that needed a titanium rod from ankle to knee and 13 screws. But chicks dig scars, and I got a cool story out of it :)
Really cool meeting you brother, Appreciate conversing with you for the short period. My puppy appreciated the love from Ashley as well lol. Sell that Crosstrek and start that Rig build 🤙🏻
Man that grom is pretty sweet! Just like my tdubs: it may not get you anywhere fast, but it'll definitely get you there! Also, it's probably too late by the time you get this message, but y'all should definitely check out antica forma in moab for some incredible pizza and italian food. I am blown away at the cuisine down there and am looking forward to another project I get to work on down there for a month in november!
Can’t wait to go there next summer! Getting the Taco ready! iKamper installed. Want to mountain bike there too! Plan is Moab, Arches and Zion then head into Colorado… then back to VT
Thanks for the video, great way to see Canyonlands for sure. Wife and I want to take the GROMS in November there and give it at try ourselves. Do you think the stock street tires will work on that ride? I know knobby would be so much better but I've done some rough gravel roads (by accident while exploring) and it was slow going in places but the road tires did OK. Chance it or should I bite the bullet and get a set of knobby for both bikes? Your thoughts???
That trail didn’t look too technical. That Taco you stopped to chat with looked stock. Do you think a stock taco would have any issues? I’m on vacation in a couple weeks and I thought about taking a trip to Moab or there after watching this video.
Margaritas well deserved!!! Seems like the Grom did quite well, especially 2 up over all the bumpy conditions. The views were fantastic. Between your camera setup and the drone - awesome. I totally wanna buy that drone!! Oh, speaking of which - partner up with a dirt bike outfit company for some sick T-Sei riding gear? Just a thought now the SAT Grom is in the picture. Nice job again T!
Well that was fun .. you drove right up to the same point we were at Memorial Day weekend .. was the 1st outing of my 2021 Crosstrek Sport .. lifted and Toyo All Terrain's .. I have a video doing the Shaffer Trail with the Trek .. Al Maurine on RUclips .. only have two videos .. LOL
I've been researching mini's, I have a buddy with a CTX125 and I've been looking for a good mini to ride with him. I have other buddies looking for mini's now too. We just got back together in Japan after being apart a few years. They all retired and I have 3 more years in the Navy and then I can retire. Grom looks pretty good. I've been trying to decide between it and the monkey and I'm starting to lean towards the grom because it has better gauges, more fuel, and a lot of customization options with its plastics.
My buddy and I just did this same trip on our Groms last year. We started off by camping in Colorado Springs KOA and then we rode to the top of Pike Peak. Next we headed to Engineer Pass and rode to the top of that area. Then we went to Moab for a few days and explored Arches, and Shafer/Potash Trail as well. So cool to see someone document the journey that we did... sadly he and I both lost all of our footage and photos from that trip.... So thank you for sharing so I can relive the amazing adventure through you all.
Great content! Moab is my favorite place. It was more a fav before the entire world discovered it. Pasta Jay's for the Italian fix is recommended. Would like to know which BLM Campground that was by the river. The aerial view was rad.
Hey Talon, how is the AC working out for you? I am starting my Van build (thank you and your video's I must say) and I would love to have a full time AC unit in the Van so any info would help.. Thank You again for sharing your adventures..
Hey Talon! My name is Bob... I have a Question about your 2022 Honda Grom. First off, it's looks Freakin' Amazing! I love all the Custom Mods and Cosmetic changes you've made to it. I don't think I could of done a better job myself... I mean.. You really knocked it out of the park with this Motorbike!... So i heard you mention that you are like 5'10 - 5'11 which is the perfect height for all your equipment! Everything is perfectly designed for Men your height which makes it so much easier when you go shopping. You Lucky SOAB! - So I'm really interesting in a 2022 Honda Grom! But I'm 6'1 & 245lbs. Do you think the 2022 can Handle my Size & Weight?... I've also been looking into the "KTM 390 DUKE". Which Bike would you recommend for a Man my size?...
The Grom can definitely handle your size, the weight may slow it down just a bit compared to what you see in my videos. The 390 is more of a full size bike with bike tires so it will still be comfortable and a bit quicker but not have as much “fun factor” as a grom
@@Upliftyourbrothers Thats what I mean. Dudes wanna drop huge amounts of cash on these vehicles to do stuff like this, when they dont need it. Hell, most of the time they never leave the pavement anyway.
When you ride off-road do you air-down your tires at all? If so, how much? I hope to do Moab in a couple of months and have a Kymco Spade - similar to the Grom style mini-moto bike with 12" knobby tires. It's a little rough and I'm hoping airing down will help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Adventures can be had on anything 👍🏻
@@TalonSei the little Grom that could
Very true…I have 2017 Grom over 20000 miles…90% off road on fire roads in Pa
I’m now convinced. A 22 Grom will go on the back of the van in the next couple weeks!
I’m extremely impressed with the Grom after watching this!
As was I 👍🏻

“Go medium and stay out a little longer”. I love Chris Delia too.
That drone shot between the red water and the cliff edge was money. I really enjoyed this video. I totally wanna do this
Loved this video, please go on more vacations for us so we can escape for a bit lol. Just ordered a 2023 Grom coming in a month, can't wait.

Loving these videos with the Grom 👍👍
Talon nice see the trail again but in reverse, Jacque what’s to see Ashlee do it in the Sat Van going up. Remember go big or go off the edge!
What changes/improvements have you made to your Grom to better handle trails like this since?

Would you buy the same exhaust again if you could choose? I am trying to decided which one to buy for my 22 Grom
Love your footage of the desert once again! What electric skate board is your favorite?
Onewheels
I got one:) but I want a skate board too. Which one?

drone shots made it look like you were driving on mars. great video.
Yessss, exactly what I've been waiting for🙌🙌 you really are living the dream!!

I think you're using the drone from below. Climbing up and showing the side of the cliff. And then you are on top of the cliff would be cool....
What day was this filmed? I was on the shite rim right after the flash floods and it was sketchy!!!
Shafer was fine tho.

There’s one section that’s a little tough but a stock taco should handle it
