Honda Grom Off Road Mods: My Full Adventure Grom Build

- Earlier this year, I bought a 2014 Honda Grom with one purpose in mind, to build a fully-capable Adventure Grom that I could use to ride trails, explore the forest, and go motorcycle camping on. I made a few videos along the way, but this is the first time all of my Honda Grom off road mods have been in the same video with links so that you can get some ideas if you're planning an off road Honda Grom build of your own.
These off road mods for the Honda Grom don't include any suspension or engine upgrades. My goal was to keep the bike mostly stock, capability-wise, and instead focus on Honda Grom off road mods that would protect the bike and make it easier to ride off road, carry camping gear, etc...without dramatically modifying the bike's performance. The end result is a pretty fun and capable dual sport Honda Grom that I've taken all kinds of fun places.

I have 2017 Honda Grom with 21000 miles. I ride 90 percent fire roads. A lot of fun.
I think the grom would be fun for group rides and adventures with other mini riders

That's fun. I had a 2015 Grom that I did minor dual sport style mods, many of which you covered. It was fun.
I ended up selling because I can only maintain one bike at a time and I felt limited by not being able to ride highway with my buddies.
It was fun on the trails but that from fork would bottom out if you looked at it sideways. I had bought new fork oil and springs but just sold that stuff with it.
And I had the Kenda big blocks. They did great.
I put some Shinko big block tires on my 2022 SP Honda Grom and it now functions as my off road bike. Night and day difference in it's performance off road from the stock road tires. It is now the ultimate off road explore anywhere bike. Best introduction to off road adventure riding for people new to the dirt. All it really took to accomplish this was the tire change.

We bought a travel trailer earlier this year and it has a receiver on the back bumper with a 300# load limit. I’ve been thinking of getting the red/white/blue Grom and putting the knobbies on it. It would look like my Africa Twin. Buuuut, a yellow Honda Monkey would look just like my very first bike which was a yellow Honda Z50 with the head and tail lights and chrome fenders. 🤷🏼♂️

I'm surprised that nobody has come out with a pipe mod that brings the pipe up over the clutch cover/oil fill then back to hook in with the muffler. It might cut a little weight and seems like it would get some ground clearance back.

Question: Do "off road" tires work well on the road? like can I consistently use offroad tires on the road
given the weight of the bike; and the size in general. id say it won’t be a problem
