Those fly-by shots at the beginning must take a bunch of extra work but they really add to the cinematic quality. Your content is getting better and better keep it up!
By far your best video. Love the music, really set the tone. Motorcycling should be about fun. It's turned into status symbol centric, bikes getting too big too tall too heavy too complicated and too expensive. Makes me love my XT250 which I can just go out and enjoy...and now think about motocamping! Also great demo of GL system. Can't wait for part 2.
Brent, the music was repetitive and very annoying. (To each, his own) Other than that, it was a fun, interesting & informative video. I love that giant two legged bag. Will have to dig into that item, as I will be needing one next spring 2022.
That was an awesome awesome video!!! Your onto something, taking the less serious route but still serious business. Fantastic shots btw….great camera placement and well super enjoyable watch.
Congratulations!!! Also...I feel the former english teacher pouring off of your personality. I 100% support. I really like the breakfast scramble mountain house.
I have watched you off and on but was looking for Grom adventured when I found this video., Did a double take when you mentioned Brownsville. As my son and family live there., I visited last year and I just loved it.. Will now be watching for more adventures.,
Great stuff ,love small bike adventurers . Well done mate. IMHO You can tour and camp on any bike. Ive done it on a Honda 50 cub Obviously the country you live in effects what you take and how your bikes set up Here in the UK avoiding highways is what I do despite having a 900 Kawasaki Vulcan . I find highways just plain boring. In 1972 I met a Dutch couple they had motorcycle camped most of Europe over 4000 miles On? 2 NSU Quickly mopeds. 30mph top speed with just hikers back packs
Best part of this video is the optical illusion at 11:05 when you reach back to what my brain assumes is a regular size motorcycle far away, and go right into your tank bag, because it's right there. It's a Grom. Humour performed with munted depth perception and I love it.
Seeing this video is awesome! I'm not currently in a position to buy or own a bike but I will in the future and at that point I'm going to get a Grom. I love camping and knowing motocamping on a Grom is possible, especially this comfortable is something I'm really happy to hear!
Congratulations on making it to that career milestone! Bet that buffalo tasted extra special... cheers from the land of Bourbon and Horses. Keep it up, dork!
Congrats on the new gig. With mountain home always add 1/2 to 2/3 recommended water. Start with 1/2 then assess. Their stuff is mostly awesome when the right amount of water is added ( much better than The MREs uncle sugar foisted over on us ). Keep up the great work and the cool content. Watched your 890 r vid and your zumo Xt vid prior to purchase of both ( couldn’t find a T700, and frankly love the katoom so far). Keep the vids coming!
Congratulations on going full time! Great video and just in time. I'm planning a round trip adventure on my Kymco Spade from Gresham Oregon to Mountain Home Idaho in a couple weeks (around 1200 miles). Videos like this give me inspiration and hope that I'm not totally insane. I've done trips like that on my big bike, but wanted to make it more challenging and slower paced. I'll be packing minimal and getting needed supplies as I go, so light weight and less comfort. Visiting a friend in Idaho so will have a day of comfort and rest. I look forward to your next video!
Your not crazy. I've done huge trips on my Tao TBR7 250cc that I've made into an adventure bike. Lots and lots of mods. No problem on backroads doing 65mph but I prefer dirt backcountry roads.
I was looking for Grom videos and accidentally found this video. Quite impressed how much you could pack. I am not really a outdoory person but the video was fun to watch. I live in Vancouver, WA. At first, I thought you were in Arkansas or somewhere far far away then I saw the license plate. lol. I would be scared to camp alone even with my Glock. lol.
I'm so happy that you're following your dreams and making a living doing what you love, Ben! Well, happy for you and a little green with envy...either way, you are out there putting your heart into it and it comes through for sure. Great ride-by shots! The Grom is silly and that's what makes it fun, which is what this is all about. Also, there is but one rule about Chili Mac! Don't eat all the Chili Mac! (right Kris?)
I always take cigars and some single malt scotch along when camping in my canoe or Super Cub. I celebrate having made it through the day. Once in a while, I celebrate days yet to come. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
Hi my name is Merrill steed That have been literally my dream bike I love camping and fishing so that is what I'm trying to build I don't have a grom yet but that sounds so fun.
I have a BMW 1200GS, Husqvarna 701 and a Grom. I live close to a lot of cool camping spots, I’ll have to try camping off the Grom this spring. I found RUclipsr “unroof” videos real interesting. He’s a Japanese guy that camps off small bikes, sometimes in the winter.
Hell Ya . You have lived up to your name my friend. Now I want to get an adventure Grom . One again hell ya. And I too want to be a dork in the road or a Dorket or Dorkster what ever you want to call your followers. Can not surpass the original though.
Did you do anything with the suspension? I'm torn between getting a Mini-Moto or something a little bigger (400cc+) I keep leaning back to the Grom for the price and how much cheaper it is for the upgrades (go fast parts).
This looks like so much fun. Do you still have the Adventure Grom? What is Mr. Puff Puff? What about bears and wolves? Can you bring a gun? Thank you. Happy trails and best wishes. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
I recently had my saddlebags catch fire from my exhaust on a klr650 , I'll look into those bags and a panier rack to keep them away from the exhaust this time
I like that Grom. If it's not too small for you then I should be just fine with one. I come from Gold Wings, XX's and Honda ST's. Now I'm ready to have some fun. Did you make a vid on what all you did to the Grom to make it Adventure Grom ?
So I also do not like Mountain House meals. But I eat a TON of MRE's as I spend about 1-2 months in the backcountry each year. So the best in my opinion? Backpackers Pantry. Also pair them with things like softshell tortillas, crackers, or flatbread for variety. 😊😊
BWWWAAAAA, I just caught the Circus Bear comment. I didn’t hear it on the Patreon Video. Don’t take this the wrong way cause you know you’re a cool Dork but the scene of you riding right through an intersection on the curve, Yes you looked like a Circus Bear. LMAO This was another good camping video.
Makes me feel less guilty about my abusive trail riding on my CB300. There was no CRF300 when i bought it and it can do 80mph up mountain passes and gets decent fuel range and believe it or not has more ground clearance than the NC750x and when on clearance i paid 1000 bucks more than a new Grom for it. A North Face small duffel strapped on the passenger seat held all my camping gear for 4 days.
I've got a $1,500 Tao TBR7 250cc (Chonda) and I do Adventure Motorcycle trips for days at a time. It's all b.s. that you need to buy $10k+ bikes to have amazing adventures. I wonder how much weight the Gromm can carry because he must weigh 300+ lbs plus all the gear? I think they are actually rated for 250lbs.
Just went camoping last weekend. Got very much frustrated at how my sleepin G bag and my sleeping pad tried to distance themselves from me. I order the 15° big agnes because of the features it has. Hopefully it will work with my sea to summit pad. I thinks it will.
Kinda jealous here. I live in the middle of a bunch of state forest land, but NONE of it is open to bikes. Hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain bike trails, but to get to any land where motorcycles are allowed on I have to go about 130 miles from home. I'm in SE Michigan.
We have the same problem on the lakes - There are a couple of places where you can put in a kayak or canoe at state park landings, but then there's no non-private land on many lakes so you can't put in to eat lunch. Every inch of shoreline is private.
Delicate question: how much do you weigh? I'm considering a grom for cross country touring (instead of a bicycle) and wonder how much weight it can handle. I'm surprised the Grom took you and all your gear? Good vid.
Wow. That picks up better than I would expect it would. I’m looking into doing some videos but all the equipment that “could” be used is overwhelming (and expensive). I’ve got a gopro and an iPhone for starting out. I also have an audio interface and mic I use for music recording, I could also use. Still it’s overwhelming to even think about where I’m starting. Keep doing your thing… I enjoy your stuff.
Do you just use the GoPro for all your footage here? Looks like an awesome adventure! Just bought my Grom and am starting to build it out for off-roading.
Hey Dork cool video. The A-Grom impressed for sure! Curious, what time of day did you get to your campsite? Seems like you had plenty of time. Something I never seem to do.
Those fly-by shots at the beginning must take a bunch of extra work but they really add to the cinematic quality. Your content is getting better and better keep it up!
My first thought, how many times he stopped turned around, passed, turned around and picked up that camera...true dedication!
Would be fun to make a compilation about that 😂
"Adventure Grom", everytime I hear it I shake my head and chuckle...but it proves the point to not make excuses and get out there.
Yeah 90% of the reasoning behind this thing was "cuz I think it's funny." I like to amuse myself ;)
Awesome to see our gear in action in such a unique way!
You rode twice as far just placing your camera for rideby shots. That is so funny. Great video, love it!
Yeah it took way longer to get out there than normal 😂
@@DorkintheRoad its worth it tho!! For us anyways 🤣
Love the Adventure Grom. I'm a big guy who likes small ADV bikes, but that's a bit much,...which is why it's so awesome.
Circus bear riding a tricycle, lol, yes!

Geez! I thought you were gonna take the Little Dork out on the Adventure Grom. Great plug for the Grom! Go get it! That log jump tho! 😄

This music is appropriate but I'd prefer the Benny Hill music. Especially for the sped up tent set up.
I agree, but if I use it they take all ad revenue from my video. I know this from personal experience
