So basically the tundra is a $90,000 vehicle after registration, renewal and interest over the course of 6-7 plus years 😮. Not including the insurance cost. Crazy how expensive vehicles are.
Another good reason why I never go to that state. YOU mentioned most of them. I for one can’t understand why the good people of this state doesn’t do anything about it. Good luck
Wow!! I was under the impression that those crazy registration fees included the sales tax. Here in Florida my registration for a new truck is under $100 a year. Insurance on the other hand has sky rocketed here as well.
Absolutely wrong with the registration fees staying with the vehicle. Whatever remainder of the year that any vehicle (in any state) is not in your ownership, you will be refunded or calculated into the registration into the new state with the old state paying reimbursing the new state location. Similarly to insurance premiums - when you switch. when you pay for the year....any unused portion is returned to owner. It is still ridiculous the cost based on vehicle price in California is still insane as well as the taxes and all the EXTRA cost of everything here. New Vehicle Fees based on Price for county Contra Costa County, California...Look at New Vehicle Registration and then these yearly additional fees which is insanely ridiculous given the already high prices and taxes which should already address these issues rather than additional redundant EXTRA fees which just likely to cover overspending by our representatives and elected officials. I paid about $200 for registration for my 2010 Toyota 4Runner in 2021 in LA County. $72 for both my Tundra TRD Pro and My ‘23 Raptor. Life is great in Texas (subjective to me)
@@romoismael49 I’m paying about 6k-7k a year for a 400k home. So around 2% Now compare that to an average CA house at 700k taxed at 1%. It’s about the same. You get more value for a 400k 2k+ sqft home on 1/2 an acre land vs a 700k under 2k sqft on hardly and land.
Why then live in California? Registration on that truck would be about $60 in Florida (it's done by weight of the vehicle, not value) and about $60 in Massachusetts (where it's done by license plate type). My 2023 Toyota 4Runner cost $59 a year in Florida.
Great looking truck! Similarly, our registration fees in NH are somewhat similar in cost. My 2022 3500HD (SRW) cost me about $1100 last year but this year was just over $800.
I moved to Texas from LA January 2023 & my $800 plus California registration for my $77K 2022 Tundra was due in June 2023. I paid $200 & change for the initial registration & vehicle inspection. Last January 2024 I paid $79 plus $18 for a vehicle inspection Texas for my 2022 Tundra’s registration. Stupid California’s DMV keeps mailing me notices (in Texas where I’m a resident) that my registration payment is late and they have added penalties. 😂
I didn’t say that the car payment has anything to do with how much you owe in registration, it’s based off the total vehicle price and then it’s reduced every year

For just the registration portion?
Thats crazy man,The government is a joke.
Basic government services was 912
Supplemental gov services fee 228
Registration fee 38
Plus various transfer and specialty plate fees
I had $200+ credit from my previous registration and I still paid just over 1,100
I’m so glad I moved out of CommieFornia! Now my Reg is $55 and no smog tests
Wow! Here in Florida, registration fees are just a fracture of that! 🤯
In Florida we keep the registration. I only pay $148 to renew the registration on my limited 23 ram 3500
AZ is no different. Years ago, we bought a brand new '21 Rav4 Limited for $40k and was around $500.
Moved from cali to Arizona tags for my car and my van are twice what I paid in cali . Van this year in az. Is just over 2k
$1200 for a 60k tundra in KS. I need to move to CA
Paying down the note has nothing to do with CA DMV fees on an annual basis. They have a depreciation scale.

I’m in Maine and I leased a 2022 Nissan frontier pro 4X which was $46,000 I paid $1,100 which will go down barely over four years. Crazy
CA DMV fees for 2021 Tundra $735...rip OFF!
Colorado is worse! 1200.00 for my 2024 initial registration.
Forged carbon fiber on the front letters looks very clean , That's the first time I see that on a Raptor
Colorado is bad as well
~$600 for a ‘22 Tacoma in Feb 2022

Agree, only thing I miss is In n Out and the Ocean.
Gotta laugh mine in fl was reg $46
I moved to California for a year… came back to Oregon after that lol
Have you gotten in trouble for the tire poke in California?
