WHY BIG BEAR AND B-DUP BETRAYED GROVE STREET FAMILIES?

- Опубликовано: 11 окт 2024
- In this video, we are going to talk about why two great homies of the Families - Big Bear and B-Dup - decided to turn their backs on GSF. As far as the story of these gentlemen goes, the whole thread regarding Big Bear and B-Dup isn't too extensive compared to others presented in the storyline. Two important men that were loyal to the Families suddenly changed their minds and betrayed the gang. This episode will provide all the reasons behind the sudden decision made by Big Bear and B-Dup while also showing up why these characters are a bit underrated.

Mad respect to rapper "The Game's" outstanding performance as B Dup
What? That’s crazy! He did it so well you couldn’t tell it was him.
i thought he sounded familiar, go figure almost 20 years later i have an answer to that question.....
I knew I recognized that voice from somewhere
@@iambloopy Well I definitely could.. lol haha been listennig to How We Do for years lol
He is truly a great rapper and voice actor!
Honestly, I felt that B-Dup would make a hell of a lot better antagonist than Ryder ever did. His attitude towards CJ when he was introduced and what he was doing was set up so well and was unfortunately a missed opportunity of his potential. It's especially disappointing considering that rapper The Game did such a great job voicing the character.
As for Big Bear, he too was another character with wasted potential who could have had a moment where after going to rehab and being free from B-Dup's claws, he could have gotten much healthier and stronger to return to the Grove Street Families.
This game has three characters with wasted potential: Ryder, B-Dup, and Big Bear.
I agree! Ryder doesn't look like a traitor at all, at least to me. He was loyal all along and should have died under Mulholland Intersection during the battle. If not, he could have been brought back in the story when we return to Los Santos. But nope, they wanted to make him a betrayer forcefully. But you're right about B-Dup and Big Bear too, they seem to be really important for the Families, and yet their thread looks really short compared to Ryder for example.
@@gaminginvestigatorsRyder was very loyal to Grove Street. Big Smoke was the one that was giving hints of betrayal.
No idea why but this was the video I needed today. This Lore feels like it was a tv show or movie that can always be revisited whenever. 🔥
True, that's the beauty of the storylines. We are playing them over and over again and each time we do that, we can discover something completely new.
San Andreas is The Wire of video games-still being analyzed almost 20yrs later, and yet you always find a new detail…. Beautiful work. Definitely my favorite of them all!
Man I love this comment, the wire is such a great show. The wire and San Andreas are two of my favorites and I still watch/play both on a regular basis.
@@rickswayze it’s hard watching The Wire without the emotional rollercoaster.. but I love the analysis that I see for that show.. and it’s probably in my top 5 favorite shows of any genre of all time!
Except the wire kinda sucked
@@jason200912 not even a little bit-I’ll meet you in the middle though: I was told to watch it based off the “hood” element… but the police work, and how the seasons come together are my favorite reasons when I did watch. The reason I “stan” the show now is for the same reason I love this channel-the analysis. Things being put into perspective that I wouldn’t have even thought of!
@@TheRav3n city on a hill and the mayor of kingstown are much better with hood plot than the wire. wire was too boring for me and i dropped it
They should have kept the part where CJ is the one who drives Bear to the hospital
Also the part where Bears said Sweet became difficult and did nothing along with the way you guys explained the downfall of the families, Makes sweet even more of a hypocrite throughout the lasr half of the game For how he keeps giving CJ endless shit for not being there for the hood when he wasn't any better
Sweet was a terrible leader 😂
Not to mention he even decided to give up on the hood and tries to take a hit of the crackpipe all because he was feeling "tired." Hypocrite indeed.
Exactly. This intertwines perfectly with the whole background of what happened after Brian's death. Sweet did absolutely nothing, he was depressed and useless. Truly a hypocritical character when you think about his excuse to try to use crack at the very end of the game.
😢
@@gaminginvestigators the man said forget mansions, legit money and businesses I wanna go back to the hood (which I did nothing for)..oh and before my brother CJ walks in I'm a almost take a hit of a crack pipe 🤣🤣🤣 sweet was boots👎
I have a theory that these are actually ranks:
Big Devil - Little Devil.
Big Bear - L.B.
Big Smoke - Little Smoke.
If only they made san Andreas stories....
oh yeah i needed this video
always had a lot of questions about big bear... he was a pretty interesting character
And what's even more interesting, Big Bear was supposed to play a huge role in helping CJ find Big Smoke in the beta version. It's such a shame that he was made a minor character instead.
💯
Bro your channel is so underrated, I love how you go into the GTA lore and really dive into the story and characters. I just watched your video on “why Johnny is a pussy in GTAV” which is a question I’ve always asked myself whenever I run back the story mode, please don’t ever stop this content bro, can’t wait to see your take on GTA 6 in 2030 😂
I hate that they cut the unused files for Bear
Yeah, it feels like the storyline would be more coherent if they decided to include Big Bear as a more important character than he is.
B Dup should've been the one working with Big Smoke in The Green Sabre.
Thank you for this Hubert🤞🏻
You're welcome, bro!
@gaminginvestigators
B-Dup says he was threatened. If B-Dup didn't accept Big Smoke and Tenpenny's terms he was going to be killed.
As well as Big Devil, Little Devil and Tony.
You can’t say as well Bd,Ld and tony when there’s no proof
@@LScentral theory.
That's true, Big Smoke also had "no choice". And he betrayed the Families to get money, it's pretty much the same as B-Dup. However, there is always a choice - he didn't have to do it. Sweet was still in power and they could have remained loyal. But since both Big Smoke and B-Dup realized that the Families are a sinking ship because Sweet not going into selling crack on the streets, they abandoned the gang, and personally, no excuses would make this any better. They were aware of what they have done.
@@gaminginvestigatorsfact everyone has choice they just made the wrong choice
Traitors?
B-Dup: Yes
Big Bear: Not really
Just take a look at the cutscene in the "Cleaning the Hood" mission, CJ was insisting on Bear coming back. Even though Big Bear wasn't that useful before CJ came back to Los Santos, Carl knows that Big Bear is, or rather was a really valuable member and tries to get him on his side. And the reply of Big Bear is "Everyone likes to party sometimes, CJ. I'll see you around.", he clearly could refuse B-Dup at that moment and he didn't do that. That's why I strongly believe that he also kinda betrayed the Families.

@@gaminginvestigators What are your thoughts on Klebitz?
They betrayed literally everyone they encountered. Of course they're gonna get destroyed.
Big bear really didnt betrat Grove. He just fell for the Drugs badly because of B-Dup. B-Dup is the one who betrayed Grove like Smoke did. Ryder, Big Bear and Sweet the only ones who didnt betray Cj and Grove.
B-Dup name kinda hard. Can’t lie.
It was more of B-Dup than it is with Big Bear. The crack was getting to Bear.

Victims of circumstance. Grove didnt stand strong enough to keep their peoples united. Nobody is gonna die for a gang that is divided, and clearly going down.
This increased desperation to earn money, and escape the ugly reality.
A gang that is united and strong (not in need of escaping reality) wouldnt be as threatened by the crack epidemic.
Sweet was not ready to lead a gang if he wasnt emotionally ready to accept death of his closest people. Of course anyone would be hurt by such a loss, but a leader in the criminal underground must know how to use this as fuel for the gang, not to soften the gang.
Perfectly said!
Fact
2:34 I don't recall that cute scene because after the b dup mission Sweet took Big Bear to rehab Big Bear said where we going, Sweet some place to get old Bear back
Cut scene...
I like to trash talk Sweet but I forget that his brother's death really hit him HARD, my respect for the guy.
Nah man he was still a turd 😂
It's understandable that he was depressed because he lost his brother (even the second one kinda), but he can't be griefing all the time! He is the leader of the gang for Christ's sake...
Yeah but CJ held his head. Sweet became a lazy deadbeat afterwards and had no care for Ryder's gun upgrades or smoke's attempt at financing grove street in the introduction
@@jason200912 CJ didn't know about his betrayal either until Cesar told him.

@@juanon_industries7256 thanks, also I remember a long time ago, unsure if there was a glitch but I managed to have gang wars in San ferriro and in that island over the san ferrio bridge (sorry for spelling) I had GSF not only in Los Santos but other islands, don’t know what I did, this was on PS2
It boggles my mind that the gang didn't absolutely demand that CJ become the leader. CJ had done more for the gang within the first few missions than his brother had in 5 years.. Grove street literally came back to life because of CJ.
Cj was basically the leader they payed him tax already and he could recruit everyone.
Cj rejected leadership anyways
For real
Cj respect sweet to much, he wouldn't accept, but he's practically a leader anyway
3:41 Cursed, why did the Vagos' hands do that during that IFP animation?
Why is the Bonus Gang an enemy of the Grove Street Gang, even though CJ helped them defeat the Vaguz? After this, they are still enemies, why?
Are you talking about Varrios Los Aztecas? Well, gameplay-wise they are determined to be hostile to other gangs, including CJ and the Families. However, this could be a mistake on behalf of the developers, perhaps they planned to make Aztecas friendly after the end of the game.

yes
If y’all notices Gta San Andreas was about building your respect takeover turf but most turf you take was just a mini game to do something it didn’t mean shit…same thing with ballas takeover grove street they[ballas] had took grove street on San Andreas….where mission where Tenpenny kidnapped you in go to the country for awhile….If notice go back to hood during those times Grove st is ballas turf they took over cj mama house and sweets crib and Ryder crib….So take back the grove street area towards end of San Andreas didn’t mean shit…. So that’s why on GTA V you see the ballas in grove street area….
Bear became a custy so he didn't really have a chance or a choice 😂
Actually, I still believe that Big Bear had a chance to recover earlier. What if B dup just hooked big bear with drugs and big bear didn't want to betray his homies but b dup just hooked with him drugs and turned him to a slave

Bear didn't exactly betray Grove Street. He was just a crack addict who just became sloppy and a possible liability
Well, in my eyes he kinda did. @@gaminginvestigators Okay, but I guess that's kind of false. I think the reason he didn't come is because if he did so, he couldn't feed his crack addiction, as Grove Street members are strictly against crack cocaine. But after Smoke created the crack empire, he began to notice the deadly effects of crack and all the damage it was causing in the hood to the people. I think before that, he was oblivious to the fact. And so he decided to rejoin Grove Street after they rise to power again. Also, in his final cutscene, it was also evident that he decided to quit crack, and Sweet takes him to rehab at the end of the mission Beat Down on B Dup
