Learn how to play 567-5309 / Jenny, as performed by Tommy Tutone. A great little pop-rock tune from the early 1980's and was the first "riff" I ever learned on guitar.
The lesson covers the hooky intro riff, the different (and interesting) rhythm guitar parts going on, and of course the great lead guitar section.

Was my second riff I learned when I started playing in the early '80's (first was The Breakup Song -- Gren Kihn)
They don’t write like that anymore 😢
Thanks man, truly a Classic and Great Rock Song of the 80's, which was really a great era - musically. I'm a Huge fan of the Magical Late 60's and 70's era, and blessed to experience some the greatest bands ever - Emerson, Lake and Palmer in 1974, Brain Salad Surgery Tour, Live Quad, appreciate you sharing your knowledge and skills with us. Keep up the great work!!
Great intro to this song! When it came on the radio, you just sort of stopped everything and took it in. All hands on deck! Love it ❤
Great tutorial. I m currently learning the song. This video help me figure out a part👍
Amazing lesson! Thank you!
That was very nice, thanks! Fun and so recognizable tune!

Killer song and your tutorial is clear to follow 🤠 great!
I enjoyed this lesson. Picked up a lot of nuance that I had been missing 👍
Thank you for your attention to detail
11:30 sounds strikingly like Hazy Shade of Winter.
always wanted to learn this but too wrapped up in my own stuff!! Thanks for your involved tutorial!!! A++++++++, AGAIN!!
I am not paid to say this: best ever.
CLASSIC !!
Excellent!
Excellent lesson, would consider teaching “A Girl Like You” by the Smithereens? Thank you very much
Yes!
I’ll second that.....
Very cool it's interesting how this is another one of those tandem guitar songs
Two guys played together the whole time
New subscriber. Thanks for providing an easy to follow lesson on this classic. I watched 6 other videos for this song SMDH before I found yours.
Welcome!
Thank you!
great job
You love the same music that I grew up on and love. Played this song many times in the clubs. My first songs were Gimme Three steps, Tom Petty and the heartbreakers Breakdown. Very easy song. Hot rails to Hell BOC etc.
A great song from the early days of MTV along with the Breakup song by Greg Kihn and She's tight by Cheap Trick. Thanks for covering
Fantastic! Just found your Channel.
Whenever I've been in cover bands, I've always tried to make everything as accurate as possible. It's even easier today given the amount of footage of practically every band.
Although I understand that 99% of people in any given show/concert won't pick up on the nuances, I do it for myself and maybe the ONE "guitar guy" out there. I'm just not a big fan of renditions/interpretations/alternate tunings/etc. when I go out to see a cover band.
As for this song, I definitely picked up a few things. Thank you.
Welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks! :)
Thx
Like how the chord chart follows along in real time! 👍 The Ventilator sounds great, ever tried a Lester G?
No I haven't
Great video, I didn't know all of those intricate parts. Also, I always thought that the solo was just played through a basic flanger, the roto sound is more accurate as you've played it.
Hi
I just discovered your channel. Very good lessons, thank you.
2 song requests, please :)
Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper
Love Shack - B-52's
If you can make them upper-beginner-level friendly, that would be a grateful bonus :)
Welcome! Tell your friends!
You have some very nice things .
Very nice! You should do "Takin' Care of Business" by BTO!
David Lee Roth has a cover of this song out, fun 😊
great!!! thaank you! you make my day! can you play for u Club Michelle by Eddie Money please
The two original guitars are actually a Tele deluxe with the humbucker
E and a Strat
Interesting! How did you find that out?
@@12footchain There is an old video out there of the band that shows the two guitars. I'm sure you can find it.
@@artackerman2744 ok gotcha - that is the original mtv performance style video is probably what you are referencing. Good clue and you may be right. But I've been burned MANY times relying on what an artist is playing in a video as what is on the record, very often it's different. but for sure it all sounds fender-y for sure
Top Shelf 12ft ♪♫ä♫
Fender Bassman in the background?
Yep!
Opening riff done on a strat not a telecaster
interesting, is that documented anywhere?
What a shame now I have to buy a tele to play this tune
Jenny Jenny, who can I turn to?
It would be better if you asked us for money at the end of the videos...
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
