Yeah I’ve always thought it was kinda pathetic when people made fun of “one hit wonders”. They’re either jealous or ignorant but it is so rare to have a huge hit. To me it’s incredible when someone can pull it off at all.

I’m good friends with Tommy‘s small band that he travels with Now doing small gigs in around Oregon where he moved and went into the computer business. My good friend Johnny Payne…He records, videos, and does major stage set set ups with laser systems now. He arranges they’re small gigs….as a member of the Twangtones as they call themselves now. They’re mainly just acoustic ….with old fashion percussion with a washboard. Tommy Heath is the original real name…he’s 76 years old now ….still sounds good. He has an enjoyable life. And you might know my wife’s name is Jenny… who would’ve ever thought I would be connected. Johnnyphotonics is his professional stage company, that he branches off in all directions , running sound video special effects…on the side… scheduling the Twangtones… something to do when Tommy Heath feels Like performing! I feel honored being connected!❤

I booked Tommy Tutone into The Palms Cafe in San Francisco back in late 1980 where (I think) they played 'Jenny' for the first time in public. Got chills when I heard it. Great song. TT was an awesome live act, too. I fully expected them to carry on cranking out hits. Pity it didn't turn out that way.

In the day when someone guys got lucky with a girl but she wanted nothing more to do with him he wrote her name and number on the bathroom stall. Disrespecting her. " for a good time call" this was all over in the late 70's early 80's. I often wanted to call just because of the things that were written. This is what I believe inspired this song. Even if the song writer can't or won't acknowledge this virsion.
