F1 is back in America for the first of three races in the United States for 2024 and it is once again Sprint race week for the Miami Grand Prix. Last time out in China Max Verstappen absolutely dominated the competition and took a crushing victory lapping faster than Lando Norris, Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc for every single lap of the grand prix and Miami looks like it could just be as dominant for the reigning world champion. In this video we will be talking about that and more as we look back to last years race to see how Max Verstappen took victory from teammate Sergio Perez. We will also be talking about the Ferrari pair of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz as we look at what they need to do to get back on top of Mclaren as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were the faster cars last time out.
We will also be talking about Mercedes and what they need to do if they hope to move forward as George Russell and Lewis Hamilton have been struggling with the new car so far this year. Also we will be talking about Aston Martin and what is next for Fernando Alonso and also how Lance Stroll needs to have a better weekend after rear ending Daniel Ricciardo and causing a crash under the safety Car.
Alongside this I will be giving out my early predictions for the Miami Grand Prix.

Love the new thumbnail, is this it going forward? I hope Ferrari and Leclerc can get a podium
Hopefully it will be yes 😄
Wanted to show some love as you have one of the best and most timely Grand Prix breakdowns! Keep it up, sir
Thank you so much for the love. I really do appreciate it 😍
As always, these predictions are well thought out and reasoned. Keep up the great work, I love this stuff!
Ahh thanks man, I always love seeing those kind of comments
@@MrPulseF1 I agree with your predictions entirely. Since Sainz and Leclerc are so close, I feel the McLaren upgrades will either help Norris both of them or neither. On average, P4 makes sense.
I just hope McLaren's big upgrades that they bring next weekend will help with their straight line speed when they use DRS and with low speed corners because that is their two big weak points.🤔
Stella said this upgrades aims to increase downforce and reduce tyre deg so any improvements to drag seems unlikely
@@sleepypixie8828 It's an aero package though. The package is based around a new front wing which in long corners the mclaren gives up. So it's aimed to making the car consistent through all corners and therefore bettering the slow speed cornering. Front wing will also improve tyre deg. I have no clue what else they would bring except for maybe a new diffuser / rear wing to help with drag reduction.
I think downforce is their main focus at the moment
@@FormulaDynasty as always you make some great points, it will be interesting to see how they get on with the changes
Lol they won’t be able to solve ALL THEIR WEAKNESSES which they have had FOR MANY YEARS, Lando’s words, in 1 update….
You will be disappointed….
I think with the higher temp in Miami, it will help Ferrari a lot in qualifying, so I think Leclerc will get front row or pole
1- Verstappen
2- Leclerc
3- Perez
4- Norris
5- Sainz
Heat doesn’t matter for Quali lap compared to RBR. RBR doesn’t overheat the tyres.
We can hope that is the case. Either way it should be exciting
Come on McLaren please don't disappoint 🤞🤞🤞
China surprised me so maybe Miami will too 😊
What upgrades do you think McLaren are bringing to improve the car. Hopefully straight line at least
In general hopefully there is something for straight line performance as that is their main weakness
I just want Williams to score points. 3 out of 4 races Alex has finished this year , he has been P11-P12. Hopefully Miami can be their chance to score points 🤞
The driver markst has more news, Hulkenberg to Sauber next year and Audi for 2026. 10 seats left on the grid to be decided....
Yeah I think Miami could be a good place for them to try and score a point but in general I think they are behind Haas and VCARB
I am predicting another Carlos win ( No way) , p2 charles ,p3 perez
It could be interesting to see what changes there are after the Sprint race to help Sainz, he did look good
I enjoy the sprint races , they're like trophy dashes..i agree on your picks and Alonso will finish sixth
Yeah that's fair enough, for me they are usually spoilers for the race. One upside is that now they can change setup between Sprint and Quali I suppose
@@MrPulseF1 yah you see what I mean . The drivers can fine tune it and hope they get it right not like Hamilton did.. it actually puts more pressure on everyone to get it together while adding intrigue..
Oscar needs to qualify ahead of Fernando. He's so hard to pass he wrecks followers tyres
Yeah Alonso knows how to make his car very wide and frustrate the competition
Do you reckon the sprint race will make the weekend more interesting?
Honestly I think it will add an additional layer but it's not something I'm a fan of
Only one FP seems really problematic….
1- Verstappen
2- Perez
3- Leclerc
4- Norris
5- Sainz
Pretty much in agreement 😉
Sounds pretty good😅I'm going for
1- Verstappen
2-Leclerc
3-Perez
4-Sainz
5-Piastri
@@Dr-nacotics yeah I can see this happening too!
Mercedes upgrades are really important this grand prix. However they struggle with sprint weekends.
Yeah we shall see what they bring, hopefully it is a step forward. Sprint weekends are not the best for evaluating performance but Merc need upgrades
@MrPulseF1 if I had the option, I'd swap miami for Turkey in a heart beat. Sprint races on proper racing tracks work.
Max got 45 laps on one set of tires last year ??😳
Max went a very long way on Hards then was flying on mediums
Wonder what would Sergio going 2 🐝 doing on Cinco de Mayo dia race ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🏎
We were shocked to see that the most dangerous driver 'on track' (Russell) is paid much more than Lando & Checo!!!!
That's not counting the horrendous car repair costs & valuable team points that Russell threw away, purely for selfish reasons. (eg Melbourne 2024)
We can't believe that the only reason why the Mercedes team retain Russell is because he is British!!!!!
Actually aston Martin is not a bad car and its a good car which eats its tyres ,
But the car is faster than the mercedes
As for mclaren they are in between , neither in the top or in the bottom 5.
If stroll drove well aston martin would have been in a better place
Oh I fully agree with that. It is a good car, shame stroll is still there
I always dlike your videos
Wait do you mean like or dislike? 😅😭
Some reports suggest as much as 0.4 sec step for the Miami upgrades for Merc (However they have demonstrated so far that they really have no idea with poor simulation correlation)
Yeah but how many times since 2022 have they had an upgrade that makes them front runners again. We shall see I do hope for them that they make a step forward as more at the front is always fun
@@MrPulseF1 Exactly! It's remarkable how bad they are at understanding ground effect. Every other team seems to have a better handle on it (Except Alpine). They need more than 0.4 at this point anyway
😂😂😂 you mean a fake click bait page posts 0.4 on thumbnail and you believe that? 😂😂😂
Click bait channels ARENT REPORTS 😂 just lies
Ha ha ha 😂
Our choice for the race: Max; Checo; Fernando; Carlos; Lando; Charles; Russell will do something stupid & will DNF.
Let's hope Russell's limited driving capability does not take any other drivers out with him!!!
I think Alonso third would be great but I'm not sure the Aston is quite capable of that over a race distance, happy to be wrong though
@@MrPulseF1 Apart from P1, the rest is pretty much up for grabs.
If Checo can overcome his natural driving indecisiveness to get & keep P2 asap, then manage his tires, his position is virtually certainty. ha-ha
Prediction Max wins, 😂
I hope you are wrong about Lewis and he makes it to Q3, that man needs a podium in Miami, he deserves it for everything he has done to make F1 in America actually POPULAR! Good video otherwise
We shall see. Mercedes are bringing upgrades which could definitely help them
Podium seems highly optimistic and unlikely
@@sleepypixie8828 yeah I think I agree with you
LH deserves it for everything he has done to make F1 popular in US? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry, you are joking, right?
No driver deserves anything for his past.
You gotta earn it every race
