Everyone who had something like a brain could see that Greg was ill. And I hope that those guys who wrote all these disrepectful coms realize what they did.
Keith was always somewhat like a guiding light in my musical career. First with The Nice and then with ELP of course. But my background was classical music and I thought that it was a great idea to combine it with the power and freedom of rock and jazz music. Since then I really had a crush on Keith and on Greg as well cause he was such a good multi instrumentalist, writer and singer. I try to keep their music alive by playing it with my own trio. Two years ago I played a real big concert with my band, a symphony orchestra and ELP-music. It was just great and we all had a lot of fun. On the other hand it was kinda sad as they will never be heard on stage or in the studio anymore. And today´s rock music is just the opposite of what ELP did - what means trying to create something new even if it´s not a commercial success. So - whenever I think of them I feel a bit lonely.

I saw in in KC in the very early 70's. Never will I forget how he looked standing upon the stage in his white suit with the breeze blowing his hair. His voice was just as good in person, in that concert, as it was in the sound studio. It was wonderful. God rest his soul. A prayer that he is with the Good God, and not in the court of the crimson king.

I loved him dearly but I've spent 7 years studying health and no matter how you gain the weight food or drugs, the outcome is the same. At 70, I lost over 80 lbs so I could listen to my friend Greg Lake for another 10 years, If I'm lucky enough to get to heaven, I want to shake his hand and tell him how I spent over 20 years learning his songs on guitar. His live voice sounded just like he was in the studio. If you think back, there was no tech for those that sung out of key, Greg was a real artist and I'll never forget him even if I get Dementia or ALS, which is also food related. There is no shame in being overweight as most of the population is, but not before the 1950's. Don't believe me, do what most people won't bother with, look up the obesity rate in 1950 compared to today.
