Come on Mark. That 911 addresses all of most people’s needs. It is a sports car (despite what you say), it’s low cost maintenance compared to the more fussy super cars, it performs on bends not just in straight lines, it works well in the snow and can be a daily driver (unlike the more fussy cars out there that you seem to prefer. I think it’s time for you to convert. From John at the gym....btw I love the film. More 911 films please (ASAP)
Like a few other comments posted here, you're a tad contradictory in your review. Firsty, you say you're not that keen on German cars. Not a good starting point. The rain is hammering down and the roads are very wet. Yet you're driving it like you stole it. You said that it's refined and comfortable. You say it's a good car to travel for miles and miles. You've praised this 992 for everything it's done. And then you say at the end it's "too safe"...??? And this your sole critique? Safe is good. Safe is better than stuffing it into a tree going backwards on soaking wet tarmac which is what would happen if you ever you did the same speeds (Or even if you ever managed to get anywhere near to the Porsches speed!) in a Ferrari or McLaren. So, can I suggest you stick to driving English or the Italian cars and leave Porsches for people who appreciate that they are fantastic drivers cars. Over 1 million worldwide sales for the 911 is proof that Porsche are getting it right. And I think that this new, 992 version of the 911 is quite stunning. It's fast, comfortable, reliable, has a fantastic engine/gearbox pairing and it will keep you driving whilst other sports car drivers would be sat at home, waiting for the roads to dry out. Oh! And name me another sports car manufacturer where you can do multiple "launch controls" time and time again, without the car shutting down and wanting to be taken home on the back of a recovery lorry?
Lets clear up some facts. We never said we don't like German cars. When it comes to sports cars the preference has been for British and Italian marques, and that "the stuff from Stuttgart", obviously referencing the Porsche 911, has never been our pick. It's an opinion, which we're all entitled to. We have praised the latest 992 because there are things it does very well and it would be wrong not to mention those points, as it makes for a balanced review. In our opinion however, the Carrera 4S (not all 911s) feels too grown up and lacks the edge that we'd like from a sports car. As for the wet weather driving, it only proves our point that the car is too easy to extract the performance from. It's also worth noting that McLaren and Ferrari aside, Porsche also make other 911s that you wouldn't think of messing with in the wrong conditions, but this review is of a C4S and we feel that this particular 911 is not the driver's choice in the range for the reasons explained. Not that it's not a good car, just not the driver's model. In terms of safety, we never said it's too safe and wouldn't suggest that a car that is less safe is better than one that isn't. Most performance cars are safe owing to modern traction control systems, tyres that do a good job of displacing water, and in other cases, sports cars from the likes of McLaren and Ferrari that offer enough feedback to inform where their limits are in certain conditions. To conclude, we think the Carrera 4S is a good car and if you're the type of driver who wants an approachable sports car that you can use 365 days a year, then by all means buy one. In our opinion however, it sacrifices a little too much edge in favour of a usable driving experience which is not what we want from a 911. We'll keep on testing them until we find one that ticks all our boxes, and report back with the good news when we find it.
^ in that case, keep a keen eye on either the upcoming GTS or a no-nonsense T (not the Turbo) until the 9000-rev GT3 breaks cover and unleashes pure driving emotions to warm your heart.
Nice review, didn't like the end. The no doesn't make sense at all. The 911 never had the intent to be edgy. It had and has the intent into what you explained in the beginning. If you want a more "edgy" one you should go for the GTS. And if that is not edgy enough you go for The GT3 and so on. Comparing manual to dual clutch.. Yeah that's taste. Anyway, keep it up.
So you are basically complaining that it is too perfect. OK. I wonder if you are wearing a raincoat with holes or if you are only using open beta versions of SW. If so, you are consistent and you should buy another car. Maybe a british car, or american.

Comments like "the brakes are good too" makes me wonder what you expect in a German sports car. Did you think it would be lame as the review? Not sure what value someone adds by reviewing a car they've borrowed for a few hours. No idea who you are and why your personal preferences matter
It's soo funny when you need to get through these...fake car journalists...every bracelet/watch that is put for the show or flex...hits soo hard...just like all these pretencious beard styling...it's hard to make it ALL ABOUT CARS...when your're simply not ALL ABOUT CARS...so if you prefer british and italian sportscar...it makes sense...
You say the 4S ain’t the one to buy yet I see you getting your man and driving it pretty aggressively on wet roads. LOL What a contradiction this is😂😂😂😂
Kind of proves our point actually. It rained the entire two days we had the car and we still managed to extract the performance except for one time. It shouldn't be that easy.
Takamusasu - Just what I thought too. A great car that the presenter doesn't like. He's praised it for everything it did, but the only criticism was, it's "too safe".
The perfect sports car. PERFECT. Fast. Understated, but still eye catching. Sorry...no need to drive to the office in a Ferrari or a McLaren...unless you have a small penis. The 911 is all about class.

Hahaha its good but not great?? Ive driven just about every sports car out there and the AWD 911 is serious goods. Especially in the states you wont get anything better other that a turbo s.
Wtf was the point of this 'review'? You've told us nothing new at all. A lighter version with a manual box might give more fun was your conclusion? Why not just tell us the sky is blue or something else as equally obvious. Go get a proper job.
That interior is gorgeous, masculine, sophisticated, classy. The owner of this car wears At Least Rolex, Omega, Breitling, hand made Italian shoes and finest designer shirts. He's also probably older than 45. No offense to any who wear athletic or casual and so would choose a black or red and black interior. Just sayin... that's who loves this color scheme.
Your review shows very well that you have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about. And that you did not understand the concept or rather the idea behind a 911. Go, drive your McLaren. Best of luck.

Totally wrong

You’re absolutely confused. The 992 is the best of the 6 911s I’ve had. Why the fuck would they have a non 911 enthusiast rate it?? GTFO
Ideal car to rediscover your youth. The car you should have had when you were 18 back in the 60s .... 👍
Did you have to adjust the pedals? Or are you wearing platforms

Nice review, and that’s why Porsche built other cars like GT3 and GT4 for real track enthusiasts 😀
Vague, unsatisfying answer as to why the 4S isn't the 911 variant to aspire to.
Which watch are you wearing?
Cartier Ballon Bleu
Seems they've always got to say something is wrong with it if only to show how clever they are ...... Well, it will do me pal. 😎
I was thinking of a 911 but just came across your video. Would you opt for this 992 4s or a 991.2 4s?
hey man very cool watch what is it?? cartier and breguet?

m8, you loved that car. Looks, performance and you won't wrap it around a tree.
How can a “Regetón-Guy Reporter” could understand Porsche heritage?
bla bla bla... try driving like you did on an Aston or a McLaren on such wet roads.......
McLarens don't like it at all! Rained a few times when we had the 720S and couldn't get anywhere near the throttle in it!
The very things that you find lacking, is what I like.
If ever someone didn't suit a car, and vice versa.
I'm with you bro, manual all the way!
The only thing I dislike about my 992 4S is the door handles. I prefer both the style and functionality of the 991.
Fair comment, heard this a few times from other owners!
Pretty good review brother. I truly enjoyed it. I drop my review around next week with same car 🙏🏻👍🏻
Uh…”not turbocharged”??? The 992.1 C4S has TWO of them, in fact! 🥴
