This video was shot and directed by Dan Huiting up on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and it's a 3 minute and 41 second love letter to my beautiful home state of Minnesota. Much of this was shot in and around towns like Grand Marais and Lutsen, places where I've played many concerts, hiked, snowshoed, and had many sunset beers and sunrise coffees over the years, so it means a lot to me to have it so spectacularly captured in this video. Special thanks to our friends JD and Connie for letting us shoot a few of these shots from their lakefront home.

About Reina del Cid:
Reina del Cid is a singer songwriter and leader of the eponymous folk rock band based in Minnesota. Her song-a-week video series, Sunday Mornings with Reina del Cid, has amassed a devoted and diverse following made up of everyone from jamheads to college students to white-haired intelligentsia. In 2011 she began collaborating with Toni Lindgren, who is the lead guitarist on all three of Del Cid’s albums, as well as a frequent and much beloved guest on the Sunday Morning videos. The Sunday Morning videos also feature a rotating cast of bandmates, special guests, and occasional random bystanders.

Sunday morning is coming a little early this week! I went up to the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota with director Dan Huiting, and we shot this music video for “Goodbye Butterfly” off the new album coming out this Friday. I hope you enjoy the video and song!

I said "hello" and "goodbye" to a record number of Monarchs this year in Muskoka Ontario! What a beautiful send-off to these high-flying creatures. Your song makes me imagine fragile wings, fluttering in the bright blue sky 5000 feet above Lake Superior and heading to Mexico...your song takes me with them!

So for me this song had been dormant for years, first when I heard it, it was like a demo made with garage band, but I thought it was beautiful. So I downloaded it and put it on my desktop so I would play it every time I saw it there. It already was really cool, but Now I find this finished version and it sounds so grand compared to that one. It takes you away to the land of loving wonder. Thanks Reina!
