This has been my point from the very beginning. Most are missing the forest for the trees, too focused on either how much they hated those cards, or on how much money they lost. Regardless of perspective, we all spend our hard earned money to play this game, and nobody wants that taken away. If the community doesn't take a stand against these shady business practices, then WotC will simply do it again. They won't care until we hit them where it hurts: Their bottom line.
I've already decided to never purchase any more sealed product going forward. If Wizards wants everyone to ONLY play with the latest cards so they can sell them to us. Then the prices of those latest cards need to be like $50 a box, and not upwards of $200-$400 for collector packs. They're ephemeral. So why are cardboard game pieces costing $400 for a box of 12 packs?
As of yesterday prices were down 50%. Estimated with those price drops $127 million was wiped out from players and stores. That is a low estimate because prices will continue to fall. It did not count for the special Mana Crypts from LCI and box prices. This is easily going to exceed $200 million. Now you are going to have the fallout of future sales too. WotC is stuck in the middle on this too. They print sets 2 years in advance. The RC started talking about this with WotC a year ago. The prints were already set in. Nothing can WotC could do. Once WotC's supply was flushed out RC drops the ban. This is scummy in all sides. I have no dought WotC takes over the bans for the format the RC is dissolved. I've been playing since 1995. I've seen it all. Nothing even comes close to this event. Chronicles lead to the reserve list being made to regain player and store's confidence. The RC even doubled down with a release today saying they will not undo the bans. I don't know how WotC ever gets the player's and store's trust back. For myself I am moving to proxies. Anything over $30 is target for reprint to crush the prices. Now the most expensive cards in commander get banned nothing is safe at that point. This is no longer a collectable game.
whales are buying most stuff now, wotc will just print a new jewelled lotus, new mana crypt, new dockside and all the whales crying and saying they're quitting will just buy those. This is all calculated, there's too much money on the line for WOTC to not be fully aware of all the variables taking place. They sell out the IP, formats, game integrity, power creep it to the ground and you think they would have reservations about pumping and dumping the cash piggies in this game? I was told "Well wotc has to make money bro" any time I criticized this games direction so hey, everyone crying now can eat those words in this ban. They have to make money man, so as long as stock goes up, it's all good. State of the game and emotions of the playerbase don't matter if the stock goes higher. Money > you and me and mtg. New whales can even come in and replace the old whales who got burnt to the ground in this, it's all good.
I recently purchased three dockside’s and three crypts. 😭 Not like I was looking to sell them I haven’t been able to play the decks yet before the ban. Basically just scammed out of $900.
My LGS currently has Commander Master boosters at $75, Caverns of Ixalan Collectors boosters at $35 and MH3 at $35(or $40 I can't remember) right now in the case. Watching that man take apart every deck he owned yesterday was really sad to say the least.
Apparently they had been talks about the bans for over a year but thats well after the sets were finalized and printed. They make sets years in advance. As far as the RC dumping cards enough to effect the card price, 5 people who do not seem rich by any means would not have the means to drop any where close to the amount that would significantly effect the price. Especially since a few of them have posted photos showing they still have them. Considering that CAG memebers were also caught unaware it looks like the RC were pretty quiet. That said they should have been more open about lotus and mana crypt on the watch list, not just dockside and nadu.
I have no regret buying my power 9 and a 40 card set of revised dual lands but I do question how much players felt back then about restriction and type 2(standard) banning. Since type 1(vintage) still gave a place for Power 9 & extended still gave a place for dual lands, it seemed to have no where near the impact as banning J-Lotus, it's only homes now are sealed deck and cube.
The problem with a rules committee is that posting a public watch list it's going push/restrict the value of a card and for WOTC it's a re-printability to make a set sell.
Duh! RC doesn’t play cedh so they have no perspective of that community so the banning is catering to casuals. Casuals don’t understand that these cards are NOT investments, but hard earned money for the hobby. Stores have the investment. Mid/High/cedh players took the L. WTF is rule 0. If the table isn’t have pregame talks about how truthfully strong their decks are and what to expect (fast mana, free spells, tutors). And the audacity to not ban Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Grim Monolith , and Ancient Tomb😅 And now people want more. Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe. RC will ban commander into a no funs format. Print replacement/fixed cards before banning. A new “2cmc Mana Crypt adds 2 that doesn’t untap at next upkeep or is passed to turn order player.
These cards are definitely not a problem at the casual table. Most casual tables don't have these cards in every deck. There'll be one guy who has a couple of cards because he opened them. Or a guy who's really a spike and playing overpowered decks against pre-cons. That problem isn't solved with these bans. Those spikes will just play the next level overpowered cards against a pre-con. I've never seen a casual table where everyone had all these cards in all their decks, that's complete BS (there's no diversity issue). These bans were 100% targeted at cEDH (possibly due to spite for trying to break off into their own RC). Otherwise their logic for banning these cards could literally apply to 20+ other cards for casual EDH. Why allow dual lands? Why allow sol ring? Why allow any fast mana? Why allow infinite card advantage (Rhystic, Sentinel)?
@@t.yop9exactly. The sweaty, try hard players will always exist. You’ll always find the guy that likes to break out his 8-9 deck against precons. I’m bummed. I played Lotus and Crypt in 1 casual deck, my Zurzoth Devil tribal deck. I wanted the speed potential to help keep up
they want to ban a lots of power cards and make us play retarded deck. shame on RC for abusing market! i hope people will get RC and get done with it. no more abusing
@@t.yop9 here is the ring. they used the tools or AI to ban two card and normally THREE but RC are dumb. Jeweled lotus, Mana crypt and Sol Ring have RAMP but NO COMBO! i meant no infinite combo has impacts the games! RC should be focus on big combo or infinite combo which impacts but ramp? from AI tools? no advise? jeez. I hope people get RC and let get it done.
This. This game was never focused on cedh play. And honestly they were pretty thorough in their reasoning with the bans, which I do agree with. As for Sol Ring, I mean at this point it's in every precon and probably in future precon. @matt They also did mention that they've been talking about this for a year. They also had a big faq that goes over all of the watchlist stuff. Yeah it sucks to hear for those who invested money, but I personally do agree with the decision.
Maybe more people will embrace proxying in commander now. I have pioneer and modern decks. All real cards. Commander? It's the proxy friendly format, embrace it. Spending 100 dollars on a card in a singleton format where you can go 10 games and never see it, why do that?
I'm just glad I don't have to see these at tables anymore. Anyone who likes tons of fast mana always told me to rule 0 it out. Well, now people who enjoy it are free to rule 0 them back in, and those pieces will be much cheaper to obtain.
@@jamesshively7382 trash. Like your mama crypt? You’re just lookin go for fights, looks like now you gotta wait til someone else thinks of the new meta, we all know you’re not adapting with innovation, just duplication.
I can't, and I have several copies of both Crypt and Lotus. They're simply too iconic, and you can argue the Lotus will never get another printing. But who knows?
@patrickmcathey7081 the only thing I can think of is a card like Balance. It's banned nearly everywhere, yet gets printings to this day. It's a card they reprint at mythic, and yet has no real place to play it, besides vintage. No one wants to open that card from a pack.
Here's an interesting exercise. If you owned 1 Jeweled Lotus & 1 Mana Vault (cheapest copy of each)... what's their combined price 1 week ago vs today?
Anyone with half a brain who has paid attention to wotc the past 5 years would have been proxying, it's why so many sold their collections way before this. I mean its commander for petes sake, there's no rules enforcement or punishments to not complying with official sanctioned tournie rules.
Mana crypt shouldn't be allowed in any format because it was originally a limited order by mail card with a coupon from a book not sanctioned in any set or block.
We can only speculate when it comes to future bans. The Crypt and Lotus bans don't make a lot of sense. The explanation they gave would also include Mana Vault and Sol Ring, but they left those out with the shadiest justification I've ever read. I won't sell my collection, but I'm definitely selling my extras that I tend to keep around because I like each deck to have their own copy.
I see you talking in this video about disappointments due to a few cards. However the grand scope comes down to whether you would have still bought magic cards to play and if you love the game you would play on friends enjoy the lengthy fun games these bans have re awarded you all with satisfaction has returned to the commander format.
I think it was the same thing when the banned paradox and i and all my friends still play edh. Some decks got new cards no deck stoped working from the ban. 🎉
I'd be putting my money on them wanting to do this several years ago WOTC convinced them to wait because they had reprints in the works. They agreed to wait so it wouldn't screw over the set... instead screwing over the players.
I was supposed to buy all the bloomborrow Commander precon decks and bling them with my jeweled lotuses and Mana crypts after the ban I just bought. Bunch of PS5 games
@epicexploration the only people NOT upset by this, are people who didnt have any money in cards. They sold this shit at higher prices, knowing the chase cards in the set driving the price up would be nuked in value and banned from the format people were targetting it for. They tricked people into buying something they knew they had every intention of destroying. That seems pretty damn close to fraud to me. They cost the secondary markets and collectors millions of dollars, out of the blue, after getting their full value from it. If youre gonna try and say they didnt take advantage of this information to also offload all their cards before they lost their value, then that must be some pretty potent shit youre smokin... if it was stocks, the sec wouldve already stepped in.
Yeah, one of the elements that helped me feel less bad about this was that i had opened most of these cards barring one dockside and one jewelled lotus when they were cheaper. It really sucks though and still don’t agree with Jeweled lotus.
Fast mana does absolutely ruin games if only one person is able to have it in their deck (cost restrictive). Having 4 players will not necessarily stop the player who has the fast mana rocks. And if everyone plays fast mana then there really is no difference having it or not. The only legitimate complaint is that people lost value in their cards but that should not be a factor in what cards get banned.
if you play commander you should know full well that these cards have always been on the chopping block, the question is: why wait so long to swing the ban hammer and why now? Why not Sol ring? a dollar card that is in every precon? That's more of a prevalent card than crypt or lotus.
Here is my take on this ban. These people that banned these cards can't tell me what I can and can not play. I bought these cards so I will continue to play them
I'm done buying mtg but I'll still love the art 🎨. Maybe once some of those cards get taken off the list. I'll come back but I'll still keep my Channel going no matter what
I have 10 copies of Jeweled lotus, and 13 copies of mana crypt. I have every version of the Special Guests neon ink crypts... i don't even wanna say what I have in all those cards... it makes me so damn mad
There are many cards that aren't legal in any format and are still valuable collector's items. Don't burn these cards cause they might be too in few years. My prediction is that jeweled lotus will be the first one to get a new hey day.
That's all well and good to say, but if you're in playing any official events you're going to have to abide by those rules. I mean I play no ban list modern all the time but I can't take those decks to a tournament.
@timcharles1676 no other option but to raise hell then I guess. Force them to reverse it. JLK latest poll on Twitter spoke volumes on the ratio of yay or nay.
Yeah then have that discussion with every new person then leave or ask them to leave when they say no like an ass hat. It's a problem that never needed to happen.
All the other formats the ban list is regulated by wotc except Commander which has their own rules committe that isn't regulated by wotc. Should not be ban list if we have Rule Zero and the Rule Zero pushed as something you should discuss before starting a game of Cimmander, so you can discuss what level deck and cards to play or not to play. This is what i was told was the reason for Rule Zero was for when i started playing Commander. As for the tournament aspect for Commander, whoever organizes the tournament can still use the concept of Rule Zero and I would say depending on the size of the tournament but the organizers of the tournament can put a list of cards that will not be allowed for that specific tournament.
I think everyone needs to consider the fact that jeweled lotus exists in the same rules as an actual black lotus in commander. Due to that concept they should just unban black lotus in commander I have played magic since dual lands were 2 dollars I have seen new sets come and go everyone wants to sell guess that makes it a buyers market all of the players selling their cards now will regret it later don't be hasty folks
Pulled my first crypt out of ixalan, didn't even know I could get it from that set when I got it was so happy, held on to it to trade for a high dollar card I would want later on out of a future set and now regret that decision 😂
It killed the commander community at my local people are saying they wont be playing commander I myself have moved on to other tcgs yugioh and one piece tired of wizards of the cost. People just proxy and stop spending you money on wizards and watch how fast things changed
I honestly have to strongly disagree, the bans are fine. They don't affect 90% of players, however, like you said it is very contradictory that they allow certain cards like mana vault soul ring to live in the format, yet they're going to get rid of these. I've never seen Jewel lotus be a problem, dockside generally scales based on how strong the other players are. I think it's a very good ketchup mechanic
theres a difference between swings and a card becoming unplayable. What do you think vintage players would do if they banned M Workshop, Bazaar, or the power 9 for some reason?
Doubling Season is in no danger of being banned. The problem with fast mana in casual environments is that it too often leads to non-games. Games that are essentially over before they have begun. It’s precisely to keep games where cards like Doubling Season can be played that the fast mana cards were banned. Frankly, I am leaning more and more toward the need for a separate cEDH format with its own banlist. I largely agree that these cards aren’t great for casual commander, and I say that as someone who owns all of them (except Nadu). The only one I don’t really agree with is the Lotus. I actually think that is one that made some higher cost commanders more viable, and the occasional fast start was offset by the fact that in many games it is drawn late and is just a dead draw. Add to that the fact that it has literally no other use outside of commander and the ban just seems dumb.
You are right! Nadu is ( probably) the only card in this which "needed" to get banned, even in a high-powered environment it's pretty unfun-ish... For the others: It's basicly a problem to play those cards in a casual pod... On the other hand, as I never played on edh tournament ( yet), you can always rule zero about your deck/s, don't you? Those are harsh "out of nowhere bans" ( except for Nadu). But time will tell if they consider an unbanning... Who knows? ( Maybe Braids, Cabal Minion will be considered playable soon 😅)
It's very simple and have to happened. Mana acceleration Focus game on more expensive commanders with better ABILITIES which should appear in the game later not so quick. Mana acceleration is deadly i any format making quick winning possible.
This is the non brain dead take unlike so many shill channels who are friends with the RC. I'm not buying any more sealed product. Only buying singles when they drop to a certain minimum threshold and then proxying the rest. Maybe just play some free Arena.
I had and have 0 of these cards i only buy RL cards i have 0 $ invested in this beef, but this all situation make me sick in my stomach The all situation is more and more rotten the more you think and look about it from all angles, really a bad bad bad bad stupid situation
These were great bans. The cost of a card should not be factored into whether or not a card should be banned. These cards are legal in other formats. They’re still worth something, BANS ARE FOR GAMEPLAY NOT COLLECTOR WALLETS.
@@jamesshively7382 you’re right there’s so sanctioned play, so there’s nothing keeping you from playing your banned cards at your own table right? “Rule 0 bro” you’re butthurt about your wallet, not the health of the format. Formats have structure, tcg formats have ban lists, this isn’t anything new. Get therapy.
One last point watching does not control the committee banning these cards so pointing at them as being in any way in control of this is actually incorrect they may have seen months ago what I have noticed an uncanny amount of content for just these four cards on every platform if it gets this much attention it's probably viewed as problematic. Just because a cards can win does not mean it should be banned it's when every combo can be accomplished in the first turn that it's an issue unban channel and balance and find out .
I like these bans and think there are some more cards that probably need to be banned. I would love a rule change to make tutor spells and abilities cost 2 generic more to play/ cast. Secondhand stores and websites are making money off of imbalanced cards, not WOTC, WOTC is making more money from precons and the casual community, it's funny ti see people so upset over this. Especially those with the extreme privilege of nothing more important to do with their money but spend hundreds on single cards...
CEDH being it’s own thing is probably going to happen but honestly nobody can afford that shit 😂😂 I feel bad for people who bought these cards but if you are on the receiving end of these cards you are glad to see em get banned. If high powered ban-less EDH wants to exist though just have it be a special club
I knew that once Sheldon was gone, things would go south. I just didn't grasp how much he was holding off the rest of these clowns from running everything to the ground.
Damm mtg investors really be crying hard. Better not look at the frequency at which Yugioh gets it's banlists, that sheyt must be the stuff of nightmares to you.
@@reginaldjackson5288exactly. A totally out of the blue banning sucks hard. The market will take a major hit from this. Those 4 (3, ignoring nadu) bannings will result in a ~22m market loss. Rip consumer confidence
It is game with cardborde and dont get how People makes a fun game in to a investment. "Colletors" have gone over to messing with the commander cards when legasy and vintage died out from cards costing a arm and a leg. Formats gets bans all the time thats whats happens to card GAMES. 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm not going to buy any new sealed MTG products from now on. I don't know if the RC will get their feelings hurt. Then they ban a card for no other than we feel like it. I feel like this is going to hurt MTG more than help. I kinda want Hasbro to run WOTC to the ground and sell it to Walmart then it will finally be dead.
Is ancient tomb better than crypt… maybe not however; its almost the same card, so should I just sell it along with my mana vault I feel like the answer is yes and then just proxy them! Because theres no reason for a normal person to have these cards anymore, I know people feel scammed and pissed and I know there are people who feel fine! Because like I said there was never a reason for a person to own these cards in the first place idk was never a fan of proxies but minds change and mine did.
I have exactly 1 mana crypt but I am lucky because I didn't pay for it. So I didn't lost any money. At least I can still play it as a Sol Ring proxy 😂😅
Who knew it? When did they know it? How much did they know? Why did they know? What did they all know? Where did they sell? 😂 anyone pushing conspiracy theories is projecting how nuts they are.
You are playing the paper stock market. Good luck. It is what it is. People who buy the expensive cards are a small portion of the player base. They can deal with it. Casual players aren't really worried about this, only the ones who rolled the dice for the cards or CEDH players. And most of them proxy anyway. The edgy will continue to proxy.
What happens Now with Sealed Product that may still have a Banned Card in it, Are those Sealed Product still Legal to Sell or Buy? Do Prices of those Sealed Products Change?Up or Down
Magic is designed for the casual player so those products aren't illegal or anything. Products still legal to sale also cards have been banned before and years later unbanned and restricted so you have that also
I had ten professionay made j lotus proxies.. You would never know without a jewelers luup they were fake. Proxy anything out of your budget. Screw Hasbro.
Any format that requires permission from your opponent to play your deck because of power levels is a plague mentality on the game as a whole. I’m glad that commander received a kick in the balls because the format, and its proponents, have made MTG worse.

Glad I had 0 of all 4 bans! I got lucky & lost $0
Same here. Gonna get em now, though.
I recently purchased three dockside’s and three crypts. 😭 Not like I was looking to sell them I haven’t been able to play the decks yet before the ban. Basically just scammed out of $900.
Then the Festival in the box includes boosters that may contain banned cards now too.
Pure brutality. The fallout will be felt.
Agreed
Hmm did not se anything at our last edh game nigth still a fun lovely game.
this affects to a lot of lgs too cause all the commander masters and caves of ixalan stock not gonna sell
Wotc bette refund all the unsold boxes
Not only that. But LGS hold onto expensive singles to sell. Hopefully no one LGS was holding on to too many
My LGS currently has Commander Master boosters at $75, Caverns of Ixalan Collectors boosters at $35 and MH3 at $35(or $40 I can't remember) right now in the case. Watching that man take apart every deck he owned yesterday was really sad to say the least.
@@ELDevaux 9 mana crypts in my LGS' for sale binder the week before the ban
@@tommieboi707 they won't. it is RC is the one who better give everyone money for the loss.
My playgroup sold our copies as we wouldn't allow high powered decks and infinite combos in our group. So profit
I finally bought a boarderless foil Lotus for under 100 bucks. I'm stoked. I've been wanting that card so bad for my collection.
I have 2 crypts (book and masterpiece) and 1 dockside. This hurts.
I wanted the speed potential to help keep up
They dont play cedh? Do you know who jim of the spikefeeders are?😂😂😂
they want to ban a lots of power cards and make us play retarded deck. shame on RC for abusing market! i hope people will get RC and get done with it. no more abusing
CEDH is not what they make rules for. its never been what they make rules for
This.
This game was never focused on cedh play.
And honestly they were pretty thorough in their reasoning with the bans, which I do agree with.
As for Sol Ring, I mean at this point it's in every precon and probably in future precon.
@matt
They also did mention that they've been talking about this for a year.
They also had a big faq that goes over all of the watchlist stuff.
Yeah it sucks to hear for those who invested money, but I personally do agree with the decision.
You know, except Flash. That was for the competitive scene.
But hey, no consistency or logic need be applied for the RC’s actions.
Maybe more people will embrace proxying in commander now.
I have pioneer and modern decks. All real cards. Commander? It's the proxy friendly format, embrace it. Spending 100 dollars on a card in a singleton format where you can go 10 games and never see it, why do that?
Betrayal is the perfect word
I thought commander was the one format where my cards were safe
💯
not really. NOT WITH RC. they want you to play weak and lose forever. it is time to get RC and throw them out.
I'm just glad I don't have to see these at tables anymore. Anyone who likes tons of fast mana always told me to rule 0 it out. Well, now people who enjoy it are free to rule 0 them back in, and those pieces will be much cheaper to obtain.
Trash.
@@jamesshively7382 trash. Like your mama crypt? You’re just lookin go for fights, looks like now you gotta wait til someone else thinks of the new meta, we all know you’re not adapting with innovation, just duplication.
Sold em all, took the loss. Moving on.
I can't, and I have several copies of both Crypt and Lotus. They're simply too iconic, and you can argue the Lotus will never get another printing. But who knows?
With it banned it almost certainly won't be reprinted.
@patrickmcathey7081 the only thing I can think of is a card like Balance. It's banned nearly everywhere, yet gets printings to this day. It's a card they reprint at mythic, and yet has no real place to play it, besides vintage. No one wants to open that card from a pack.
@@richardboss2892The same is true for Channel... which was reprinted in Strixhaven and you crossed your fingers not to pull it...
Here's an interesting exercise. If you owned 1 Jeweled Lotus & 1 Mana Vault (cheapest copy of each)... what's their combined price 1 week ago vs today?
The value of my proxies changed by $0 😁
The value of your comment is also 0$
Anyone with half a brain who has paid attention to wotc the past 5 years would have been proxying, it's why so many sold their collections way before this. I mean its commander for petes sake, there's no rules enforcement or punishments to not complying with official sanctioned tournie rules.
Lots of mana vaults suddenly appeared for sale it sounds like
Mana crypt shouldn't be allowed in any format because it was originally a limited order by mail card with a coupon from a book not sanctioned in any set or block.
You know what funny is that Jewled Lotus is on the commander fest website
Folks talking about class actions against wizards
Yea because they are horrible toxic people
@epicexploration the only people NOT upset by this, are people who didnt have any money in cards.
Wotc didnt ban the cards
@@chrisanderson1-66 wotc was fully aware the ban was coming...
I honestly think its time for us to band together and file a class action lawsuit!
The RC said they have talked with WotC for over a year about these bans.
if you play commander you should know full well that these cards have always been on the chopping block, the question is: why wait so long to swing the ban hammer and why now? Why not Sol ring? a dollar card that is in every precon? That's more of a prevalent card than crypt or lotus.
Well you do pay mana for sol ring and i know you do the same with dockside but 2 mana is not 23 tresuers
@@alexanderjosefsson4729 I just swapped it out for an Impending Disaster lol jk
They should have banned vault and not lotus... one was made for commander, one wasn't
Nadu was the only acceptable ban on the list.
Here is my take on this ban. These people that banned these cards can't tell me what I can and can not play. I bought these cards so I will continue to play them
I'm done buying mtg but I'll still love the art 🎨. Maybe once some of those cards get taken off the list. I'll come back but I'll still keep my Channel going no matter what
How much cards does the RC actually purchase VS what they get as freebies from Wizards?
What about people that bought the festival in the box that the commander legends collectors booster or. Ixalan collectors booster
I have 10 copies of Jeweled lotus, and 13 copies of mana crypt. I have every version of the Special Guests neon ink crypts... i don't even wanna say what I have in all those cards... it makes me so damn mad
You should have Seen This coming
Yeah he should have seen it coming when these were pushed in recent sets.
There are many cards that aren't legal in any format and are still valuable collector's items. Don't burn these cards cause they might be too in few years. My prediction is that jeweled lotus will be the first one to get a new hey day.
Imagine allowing a bullshit committee to dictate rules for everyone. If you no likey....don't abide by their "rules".
@kennethbatchler737 you really think that second part of your comment is rooted in some sort of reality/possibility is completely delusional.
I wonder how this going effect Wizards sales .
Meh. I play vintage and I watch prices swing hundreds and thousands of dollars. $100 is not a big deal.
theres a difference between swings and a card becoming unplayable. What do you think vintage players would do if they banned M Workshop, Bazaar, or the power 9 for some reason?
@@Dstinctthey will play diffrent decks you know it is a game and not a investment rigth?
They would have banned sol ring if Wotc had let them.
I have the same thought on mana crypt it was the only reason I got any LCI collector boosters
I will blame wotc for having these discussions for almost a year, and they still.pushed those cards! Commander voard is cool, they did nothing wrong.
I own 3 foil E.M. mana crypts. Still leaving them in my decks. If people dont like it I'll ask if the playgroup will pretend they are basic plains.
How about we drop the ban list and just have a "not recommended for casual play" list?
when are mox opal amber mox chrome mox and chalice of the void getting reprints? too expensive
It's very simple and have to happened. Mana acceleration Focus game on more expensive commanders with better ABILITIES which should appear in the game later not so quick. Mana acceleration is deadly i any format making quick winning possible.
Dumping my collection, ive been debating for years. This was the nail in the coffin. Confidence is gone
This is the non brain dead take unlike so many shill channels who are friends with the RC. I'm not buying any more sealed product. Only buying singles when they drop to a certain minimum threshold and then proxying the rest. Maybe just play some free Arena.
I dont get it we all want to play those cards why ban it ?
Basalt Monolith combos with a few cards to get all the mana you want
If they ban Doubling Season I will quit Magic 😢😂
I had and have 0 of these cards i only buy RL cards i have 0 $ invested in this beef, but this all situation make me sick in my stomach
The all situation is more and more rotten the more you think and look about it from all angles, really a bad bad bad bad stupid situation
These were great bans. The cost of a card should not be factored into whether or not a card should be banned. These cards are legal in other formats. They’re still worth something, BANS ARE FOR GAMEPLAY NOT COLLECTOR WALLETS.
Banning things that there is no competitive sanctioned game play is ridiculous and so is this comment.
I kneel and take a knee for none. So I will not listen to the morons who make up rules and bans. My decks are awesome.
Doubling season is barely playable in optimized commander fyi.
No ones pissed at you if you own a mana vault seriously you can’t have it bo to ways
Just say you love four hour games because you love staring at sweet smelly men.
CEDH being it’s own thing is probably going to happen but honestly nobody can afford that shit 😂😂
I feel bad for people who bought these cards but if you are on the receiving end of these cards you are glad to see em get banned.
If high powered ban-less EDH wants to exist though just have it be a special club
Cedh can't split off. WotC is taking over official edh tournaments. They use the RC ban list.
Disband the committee.
No yugioh is consistent with how they ban and there is always a real reason to balance in their game cause you can play with every card printed.
@@reginaldjackson5288exactly. A totally out of the blue banning sucks hard. The market will take a major hit from this. Those 4 (3, ignoring nadu) bannings will result in a ~22m market loss.

Im starting to think these people buying crypt and lotus are not crazy but investiment genius
New rulz: play those cards, not a problem, but your deck will automatically be considered cEDH, even if it is not.
i opened all mine but still i am not removing them i am am still going to play with them in the deck
After what they did with D&D, why would any one trust them?
You know my thoughts on this bro...
Preach it brother Solari, preach it 🙌
watch list is a great idea

Any format that requires permission from your opponent to play your deck because of power levels is a plague mentality on the game as a whole. I’m glad that commander received a kick in the balls because the format, and its proponents, have made MTG worse.
