+Sara Salas the same person who made hellboy made spawn only thing spawn has in common with DC and marvel is the guy that created him did deadpool designs created a spiderman suit and batman suit
Ooooh a movie with Deadpool and Spawn being frenemies with the same goal, sarcastic and funny as hell all the way through, that would be next level entertainment
You could have honestly done a video comparing Deadpool, Spawn, Darkman, V for Vendetta, The Crow, Kill Bill, and probably more all in the same video. The plot was so standard and by the numbers it's actually amazing. And what's most amazing, is that Deadpool is still an amazingly entertaining film, and out of all the ones I've listed I liked it the most. At the end of the day, I don't think the plot really matters. What matters is what you do with it.
EverythingReviewer99 I was disappointed by the movie of VfV. It's fine for an action movie with some cool scenes, but it missed a lot of the point of the book. They tried to make it too much about Bush.
SPAWN was PG-13 when it was first released in theaters--it was the last movie I saw twice in theaters. The PG-13 and R versions were simultaneously released on home video, though.
Spawn was Pg-13 in its US theatrical release. (In Australia and a few other places it was released as R and eventually the DVD directors cut was R but here in the US the main theatrical release was a heavily neutered Pg-13 )
Spawn was a highly underated good action movie and had a good cast...would love to see it made with same cast and better effects even though the movie wasnt bad but there is allot that can be done with that character and Deadpool also is great
+fununcle Dude go back and watch the first X-men movie from the year 2000. The cgi is understandably outdated but what I find really weird is Hugh Jackman being skinny af.
Spawn, the best Anti-hero ever made. They should make a new movie on him, he's way more badass than deadpool. Just read the comics up to Issue 150 and you'll know what I mean :) Todd MacFarlane created something unbelievable in a time when we had shitty heroes like Superman and Batman.
I'll never forget high school. Because during the whole ordeal. I only read Spawn. And during that time someone told me how much Deadpool, was so much like him. Ever since. I been addicted to Deadpool. And even though I love Spawn. I never really looked back. But it'll always have a place in my ❤.
But deadpool didn't visit a nuclear plant with weapons of mass destruction. He was taken in Weapon X program, and there were no weapons of mass destruction like nuclear bomb or something like that? Habibi, what is this?
The Weapons of Mass Destruction were the mutant Themselves! In the Movie they turn normal human beings into Mutants, and then turn them into Slaves (Sorry Taboo word, "A servant or mindless worker with no free will of their own.") For the Highest Bidder. Ajax said it himself! So a Person with Super powers is A mass weapon of Destruction!
+ting280 Are you kidding? Just focusing on 90s movies, it came out significantly after Independence Day, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, The Mask, Apollo 13, Twister, Total Recall, and Alien 3. It was not that impressive.
+Adahop Funny for you to mention Alien 3 among all those other movies, as if it was worth a mention. Even Resurrection was better than that pathetic excuse of an Alien sequel. Heck, I re-watched Spawn recently and yeah it's not that great either, but it still wins in terms of entertainment value for me. Alien 3 always will be that early-career embarrassment for David Fincher.
Adahop The only cgi effect that even sticked in my memory from that movie was the dog alien(runner?) humping that corpse and that at the time I didn't have words for it. And quite frankly I still don't, to this day.
I feel like in Deadpool 2.. He should make a joke along the lines of "Oh you want me, to be all serious now? Sorry I don't do long flowing capes and chains well.. Well except maybe in the bedroom."
Well consider the fact Todd mcfarlane work on Deadpool before he left marvel & started his own franchise Image comics not a surprise that there is strong similarities between them
that toys eyes is were deadpools idea came from i mean just look at them eyes, also reminds me of baraka in mortal kombat wich deadpool should of been in even tho he's marvel
I love the video that you did, all those reasons are how deadpool and spawn are exactly the same and right I think they are related. And yes( it did help me learn about reasons they are the same.) 😇 And thank you for those 24 reasons how they are the same double 👍 👍 like thanks😇😃🙏😎😇🙏
Hahahahaha ahh no. Spawn theatrically was PG-13, and even though it was released on home video with an R-rated Director's cut, it still felt PG-13 whereas (I don't know for sure since I have never read) the comics and the HBO series were freakin' balls-out rated R!!
I'm a fan of Spawn and there are similarities pointed out here. I hate to admit that Deadpool was done much much better, but remember Spawn was made in '97 where superhero movies were far from what they are now. If Spawn was rebooted these days by a well known director that followed the story of the animated series Spawn may get some serious recognition, or Spawn will get a reboot too late for anyone to care. Either way both characters are badass!
I seriously wonder how you always compare movies and always be on point. How do you watch Deadpool and think "This is similar to Spawn in so many ways?"
I'd say that the sad/rain and triple flashback are movie/storytelling gimmicks that you would be able to find in a whole lot of other movies. I'm on board with the rest though! Even if the neck-and-above-stabbing is a little bit of a stretch.
Now I want a new Spawn movie.
According to Todd... your wish will be granted.
on marvel they were planning to do the new movie spawn in 2018 but they cancelled it IDK why?
+Sara Salas spawn isn't marvel or DC
Vasili Natsis IDK dude that's wait what spawn isn't marvel then in m stupid
+Sara Salas the same person who made hellboy made spawn only thing spawn has in common with DC and marvel is the guy that created him did deadpool designs created a spiderman suit and batman suit
This is a quality comparison
+chekeichan thanks!
+Couch Tomato couch, i love your videos, but NEVER compare Spawn to that garbage again. 😉👍
But Deadpool is better and hilarious
+Wallace Collins says deadpool is garbage but likes that pathetic excuse of a spawn movie
wow wait u Spawn is an comic book first then cartoon then weary bad movie but what u expect of the movie bout super hero 20 y ago
Actually, Spawn was PG-13 in theaters. The director's cut on home video was R
Both movies also contain a character farting. ;)
#Driveby
What was your favorite part from the Deadpool movie?
I really liked the first scene in the house with the old blind lady
All of it
when the taxi driver gets into a car crash and his love rival get hit by the car in the trunk
on xmen mansion..studio cant affort another xmen
When Deadpool punches Colossus in the nuts and says "Your poor wife".
Ooooh a movie with Deadpool and Spawn being frenemies with the same goal, sarcastic and funny as hell all the way through, that would be next level entertainment

v does not lay in the trash.
EverythingReviewer99 I was disappointed by the movie of VfV. It's fine for an action movie with some cool scenes, but it missed a lot of the point of the book. They tried to make it too much about Bush.
Didn't even think about that good observation lol.
ohohohoh if v broke the 4th wall that frequently
SPAWN was PG-13 when it was first released in theaters--it was the last movie I saw twice in theaters. The PG-13 and R versions were simultaneously released on home video, though.
wow! Beast comparison! How did I not see this. Spawn was a dope movie for it's time.
the CGI is unforgivable tho
Yes, I agree with the similarities. It's sad but true. How the hell did I not catch that?! I watched Spawn a shit-ton when I was a kid.
Spawn was not R in the theatre. They released an R rated director's cut on home video.
Hmm makes sense because I remember seeing it in the theater when I was only 11.
+RckerMom87 Regardless of movie ratings, if you're with an adult, you can watch any movie.
+Sean O'Regan Doesn't matter whether an adult can take a child or not. The video is inaccurate on that point.
elterfleck I wasn't replying to you, my response was to the other guy.
Out of all the superhero movies being redone, Spawn is the one that needs a reboot/remake/sequel!
Agreed
It's coming
Spawn was Pg-13 in its US theatrical release. (In Australia and a few other places it was released as R and eventually the DVD directors cut was R but here in the US the main theatrical release was a heavily neutered Pg-13 )
Man, oh, man... I remember watching Spawn with my old man as a kid. Nice job with the comparison, Couch.
Spawn was a highly underated good action movie and had a good cast...would love to see it made with same cast and better effects even though the movie wasnt bad but there is allot that can be done with that character and Deadpool also is great
they are working on a spawn reboot
stephen bristow that would be great...they can do allot with that character and all there is are white action hero's prevalent out there
Lol @ that CG from Spawn...there's a good reason why I've only ever watched that flick once...in theaters...on opening weekend.
+fununcle Dude go back and watch the first X-men movie from the year 2000. The cgi is understandably outdated but what I find really weird is Hugh Jackman being skinny af.
+fununcle for it's time it was pretty good....
+SrmegaCabra EXACTLY
The movie is fucking 19 years old, what did you seriously expect from that time? Hell, I was 8 years old back then for fuck sake. -.-
Jurassic Park came out 5 years before. Still looks brilliant.
Superhero landing!
BOOM!
This was a really good one! Awesome
I totally called this. Thank you for turning this into a video.

But deadpool didn't visit a nuclear plant with weapons of mass destruction. He was taken in Weapon X program, and there were no weapons of mass destruction like nuclear bomb or something like that? Habibi, what is this?
I thought I was the only one who noticed. Lol
+Po Ping lol, habibi, Thank you
The Weapons of Mass Destruction were the mutant Themselves!
0:02 "the special-effects movie event of the year"
I think the box art forgot "Spawn is not..." In that quote.
+Ionlymadethistoleavecoments at the time it was incredible. but i don't think there was much to compare it to.
+ting280 Are you kidding? Just focusing on 90s movies, it came out significantly after Independence Day, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, The Mask, Apollo 13, Twister, Total Recall, and Alien 3. It was not that impressive.

Alien 3 always will be that early-career embarrassment for David Fincher.
+Cosmo-Larz89 I only mentioned it because of the effects in it, not the quality of the movie. ;)
Adahop The only cgi effect that even sticked in my memory from that movie was the dog alien(runner?) humping that corpse and that at the time I didn't have words for it. And quite frankly I still don't, to this day.
Man these videos have such a great format and are really well thought-out
SPAWN IS A BADASS ENOUGH SAID..
Reasons why Hunger Games and Battle Royale aren't the same movie
+CERC1234 Gaming not enough for a video
there is no class period checker (cinemasins reference)
Battle Royale was way better. To me, Hunger Games was the kids version of that.
Why is the subcount private
I think this is my favorite one so far. Keep em coming! You ROCK!
I watched V for Vendetta this weekend. It's exactly the same as Deadpool. Haha
You do a really good job with these videos
This is awesome haha, I totally never noticed this at all! Good eye! :D
i just subscribed you guys way too awsome hatts off to the hard work n by the way i came from cinema sins everything wrng with finding dory :)
OMFGGGGGG i used to watch spawn sooo much when i was like 6 or 7
awesome as always Couch
I remember when I was like 10 and I was so scared of the Violator from the spawn movie lol.
+Kenneth Franklin. same here...we're probably the same age because I was about the same age when I first saw it
Another reason: The actors who play the protagonists were both in D.C. movies (White- The Dark Knight and Reynolds- Green Lantern)
How about the fact that both many character actors starred in DC movies??
(The Dark Knight, & Green Lantern)
When I first saw Spawn it reminded me of Deadpool, I thought it was literally the exact same thing too.
I was really impressed with the comparison. Did you do this yourself or a group figured it out.
+Peter Wulf I do all my videos by myself -- thanks!
I was thinking deadpool was close to the same as Darkman but this is was Way more related. Thank you for correcting me sir!
cool video dude keep it up
+Maxesar thanks!
+Couch Tomato Hey dude, can you do Turbo (2013) and Planes(2013)?
Bro I love you you're great I really thought you weren't going to find anything that would relate to Deadpool but you did good job hilarious
Are you gonna do a Deadpool review on the podcast?
+Zale Uzumaki yep! This week...put your likes and dislikes on facebook page and I'll read it on the air
Oh Couch Berry, you little scamp you. Using emojis for Deadpool's name.
+The Dark Loon lol, he did it first Ark Toon
These two would make an awesome crossover pair
I just watched both of these tonight and now I see this.
Didn't thought you would compare it to spawn but awesome video dude keep it up.
Hey Couch, how come you haven't been on snapchat lately?
+Benjamin Espino just answered your question on snap chat...my bad bro...I lost track of time these last couple of weeks
Couch Tomato i understand about the haircut thing and thanks for the "shout out" on snapchat
+Benjamin Espino I'm going tomorrow...I was been supposed to go, but haven't had the time because of editing lol
3:38 I applauded to this scene
I'm currently studying to be a film writer/director and I feel watching your videos is better than reading any book or taking any class.
wow this is really good really good analytical skills to notice!!
I persoanlly love both these movies very very much!!!
Where does the "best elevator music I've ever heard" line come from, from the outro.
I totally agree, i was like hey wow this and that i recognize. Great comparison!
Great video man
thanks!
I feel like in Deadpool 2.. He should make a joke along the lines of "Oh you want me, to be all serious now? Sorry I don't do long flowing capes and chains well.. Well except maybe in the bedroom."
amazing I've never seen spawn but great video
Well consider the fact Todd mcfarlane work on Deadpool before he left marvel & started his own franchise Image comics not a surprise that there is strong similarities between them
Someone just compared spawn to dead pool the film that beat out every other hero film in earnings. Someone is a very very brave man. Hats off to you
I'm on mobile and it says this channel has no subscribers... That can't be right
Now this story should be trending.
Awesome Video 👍
3:06 TECHNICALLY Deadpool FORGOT his guns.
Sweet work
You forgot to mention ...Spawn is actually worth watching !
with that CGI?
the MK 11 Spawn scenes keep showing up on my fb .... now i’m a fan of him after deadpool, but the movie looks so old :( don’t even know where to watch
For the 24th reason deadpool showed ajax mercy by killing so him he could stop listening to the colossus speech haha
just because there are similarities doesn't mean they are the same
I swear I live for the end credit beatbox!
+mobaby1975 best elevator music I've ever heard
One reason Hell spawn and Mr Deadpool are the same is they both killed everyone in the Marvel Universe at one point
I never thought they were the same but these are good examples
that toys eyes is were deadpools idea came from i mean just look at them eyes, also reminds me of baraka in mortal kombat wich deadpool should of been in even tho he's marvel
this was probably intentional knowing deadpool
Deadpool and Spawn should be BFF .
John Leguizamo was definitely about that life.
Hahahahaha ahh no. Spawn theatrically was PG-13, and even though it was released on home video with an R-rated Director's cut, it still felt PG-13 whereas (I don't know for sure since I have never read) the comics and the HBO series were freakin' balls-out rated R!!
Very good comparisons. :)
Who would Win in a Fight between Spawn vs Deadpool????
There's only one difference; ones good and ones not
+Bricksmart Right Spawn is good. Deadpool was awful
Agreed
+TheComedian
Wow the comedian It's all a fucking joke.
I'm a fan of Spawn and there are similarities pointed out here. this was a really good comparison at first I was like nah but at the end I was like yeah
this RUclips channel proves even movies steel from other movies
CAN U DO "THE BOURNE IDENTITY" VS. "THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT" VS. "AMERICAN ULTRA"
So Deadpool is basically Spawn if it were good.
Deadpool isnt good, HEs a antihero
+Yasser Piedi Gonzales he means the movie's quality, not whether or not the hero is good or not.
Thomas Hall Maybe but most of the people loved the movie.
I seriously wonder how you always compare movies and always be on point. How do you watch Deadpool and think "This is similar to Spawn in so many ways?"
were they supposed to not use the red and black suit even though that is Deadpools colors in his comics?
I'd say that the sad/rain and triple flashback are movie/storytelling gimmicks that you would be able to find in a whole lot of other movies. I'm on board with the rest though! Even if the neck-and-above-stabbing is a little bit of a stretch.
Good work
+cool guy2165 thanks
Why do you value your face very much? You have your voice ;)
+IgnitionPoint 2 lol thanks
Oh you, stop it! *blushes*
That's so true but it's almost like those are offbased cameos by dead pool producers
Here's how Deadpool and Spawn are different: Deadpool was good.
Agreed
Comic or the movie because I think spawn is far more better then deadpool in terms of the comic.
identical movies are one of the reasons I don't watch movies anymore(not the only one, just one of them, there are other reasons even worse than that)
Oh you were waiting for a teaser for the next movie. Sorry we don't have that kind of money.
I'm sure there are 24 similarities between most pairs of movies if you look properly
Spawn was edited down to a PG-13 when it was released on theaters.
I now feel that Deadpool got its ideas from spawn and totally ripped off Spawn, the truth is revealed
I think you should've compared Deadpool to at least Darkman or V for Vandetta.
Emoji use was clever
Nice twist on #24 lol
I was right about this when I saw deadpool. The movie plot was very similar to Spawn's.
