You might be surprised that Whis of Universe 7’s name comes down to a misunderstanding Akira Toriyama experienced upon hearing the name Beerus. There's another rule that the Angels must remain neutral to Good and Bad, it means that they're not allowed to side with Good or Bad.

When I see Mohito's reaction, I'm almost inclined to think it was a painful smile. The expression in his eyes seem sorrowful and melancholy. My interpretation is that he is smiling as he is, since he is somberly accepting of his universe's fate and is unable to do anything about it. A sort of smile that you give when you've made peace with the inevitable. (Just my interpretation)
It is shown in an episode that Mohito hates his universe because of how incompetent its god of destruction and creation are. Hence why they are ranked last. I don't read the manga but someone said it's also mentioned there. This is why he actually smiles when they're erased. Not because he feels bad.

I always thought the smile was because at that moment he was thinking, I knew that was going to happen. He did seem to care, when they were trying to recruit fighters for the TOP, he was shown to be visibly upset at the rioting and chaos occurring on the planet they were on at the time.

With the Angels who serve as God of Destruction attendants, Kusu (10) being the eldest is one of only three whose age compared to at least one of the others is known; the other two are Vados (6) and Whis (7), with Vados being older
It’s possible that the reason the angels didn’t seem to care about the universes getting erased is because they suspected how the tournament would end and that they’d be wished back. The Grand Minister himself knew that Zeno foresaw the tournament’s outcome.
Zeno and Angels can't see the future, Zeno can destroy universes and create universe while angels can only dodge any attack and can never die unless they break the rules

CBR, when the 2 zenos wiped out the universes during the tournament of power, the angels survived because they were spared, not because they could withstand the power of the 2 zenos.

I still don't get how people think the Angels are evil. They have to be impartial seeing as they are basically the law enforcement for universes. The whole reason why they follow the Gods of Destruction is because they need to keep the balance and make sure they don't destroy shit for no reason.
I mean if I was stuck serving an Omni king who has the voice of a 5 year old for literally thousands of years, I would probably clock out at 5 and hit the bars from time to time too

The part about the Angels not being destroyed with their universes is not a power of them.The Grand Angel even explained that the only exception are the Angels. So Zeno didnt delet them on purpose.

Well even if a universe gets destroyed so do the angels not originally stem from that universe, all angels seems to stem from the same place that Zeno calls home they just work in various universes. As such them suriving that universe getting destoryed is quite logical.
I was thinking they are multiverse beings, and if the universes are all different versions of the same one, like the Saiyans, Frost, etc, then yeah why care if some of them are erased? If you deciding to get out of bed and go to the store creates an alternate universe, do you care if the one where you slept in all day fades from existence in the multiverse?

As for future zeno erasing everything except him trunks and mai, in the show we learn that zamasu and goku black kill the supreme kai's which kills the GODS as well, also we learn that when a GOD dies the angel serving them goes out of commission until a new one emerges or is assigned (idk) meaning that we don't know for sure if they were erased or just weren't allowed to get involved. Also after zeno erased trunks future zeno stays in the past for the remainder of the show, which could mean there's nothing to go back to. After all from the universe's that were erased completely we haven't seen or heard any about the angels from those universe's.

As Multidimensional beings, or higher selves, it makes sense they could survive a universe erasure. They are somewhat similar to the angels from Illusion of Gaia who were portrayed as androgynous beings that lack emotion.

Its noted that Mohito actually hated both his universe but mainly his god of destruction, quite passionately because of the way he treated both his angel, and how he wouldn't hesitate to destroy everything or anything for the littlest of reasons...also he was just overall a jerk.

I think it's just easier to name all the characters after everyday things because coming up with actual new names must get pretty difficult and annoying.
I also don't think the angels are up to anything they would get wiped out in seconds by zeno, I mean future zeno took a split second to erase the entire future trunks universe and Goku barely had time to escape, so the second the angels try anything they first have to get passed the guards whom they aren't even strong enough to defeat and zeno would just instantly obliterate all of them and possibly existence
