I detested sunak as our PM NOT because of the colour of his skin (I really can't give two hoots) but because he was annointed by the 'liberal elite' and forced upon us rather than voted for by either the country or the tory members. As for her inane comment that racist tories leeched to Reform - just another ludicrous, leftie, sound bite. If she wants to 'finger point' to racists in any party let her start with her beloved labour and begin with lammy, then butler, then lewis, et al. For seconds let her point to the 'snackers' up north under the pretence of being 'green'. Jeez, GBN, please save us from any more of her inanities. Oh, and give us more of the wonderful Ms Woolf, always a joy to see her on any GBN programme.

Indians in India still see the British Raj through the propaganda lens of nativist hindu nationalism as an oppressive, culturally foreign empire designed to subjugate the Indian people and culture. This is the kind of propaganda that is still going on in India in 2024 and is a sure shot way of gaining electoral success.
If the native British people feel aggrieved by seeing Indians succeed amidst their midst in England then it is perfectly legitimate. Indians have done themselves no favours by being constantly anti imperialistic in their popular rhetoric.

@@user-wc2ss2fe9f there is no people problem..infact we are overpopulated for our infrastructure and people are not having kids due to cost of living , so over all we need less people , to increase each workers regular hours , meaning more increase in monthly wages , less people means lower house prices as we build more houses .
2 workers to every 1 elderly is still plenty as in Nusing homes its normally 1 career to 3-4 elderly so we are no where near needing to import more workers than we need. she just used that as a excuse.

The UK population demographic crisis started under Thatcher and continued under Blair as they stopped supporting families by taking away the tax benefits of being married, owning a home, and having children, so much so that young people don’t get married and just don’t have children and can’t afford a home. That’s why we have to import so many workers.

Tessa, the immigrants needed are skilled and qualified people who come into the country in the legal proper manner ... the dinghy migrants who are mainly young men, are not skilled or qualified people and will be a drain on the economy. Qualified Plumbers and Radiologists for example, do not come over the channel with the other rif-raf and throw their qualifications and identity papers overboard. Let the country choose which immigrants they want on the basis of need.
