The assailant on the floor was starting to get back back up, the Officer did what was sensible which was to drop him with a kick. I disagree with the 2 gentlemen on the panel. The officer should 100% keep his job with no form of disciplinary action. His actions were in self defence, to ensure he maintained total control of his firearm and in line with his duty to protect the public. Im sorry, he does not need re-training. The threatening behaviour of the two males was caused by the officers approach to the arrest. The officers where put in danger due to ther not approaching the arrest appropriately and from behind. They were such lovely peaceful men. They lit up the room with their smiles. One wanted to be doctor and the other an engineer. At the weekends they had planned to give up their free time to do voluntary work for the community by removing graffiti from walls. He had his hands full with what looked like a Taser and was always trying to keep a distance from the suspect. I disagree with the 2 gentlemen on the panel. The officer should 100% keep his job with no form of disciplinary action. His actions were in self defence, to ensure he maintained total control of his firearm and in line with his duty to protect the public. Im sorry, he does not need re-training. On the contrary, he should take on a role delivering training to others.
The firearm cannot be taken from the holsters without knowing the knack to do so.

The threatening behaviour of the two males was caused by the officers approach to the arrest.
The officers where put in danger due to ther not approaching the arrest appropriately and from behind.
If you know someone is a threat why would you go right upto them from behind and create chaos like this.
Had the officers thought it thru I feel the outcome would have been very different.

They were such lovely peaceful men. They lit up the room with their smiles. One wanted to be doctor and the other an engineer. At the weekends they had planned to give up their free time to do voluntary work for the community by removing graffiti from walls. The kick and stamp by the police officer were so violent and disproportionate that they barely registered on the detainee. The armed police officer is duty bound to protect his weapons. He had his hands full with what looked like a Taser and was always trying to keep a distance from the suspect. He was unable to use his hands to subdue the suspect that only leaves his feet and knees free.
