Please admit it. 1980 was the best decade ever with so many awesome songs from different bands 👍 I saw them on top in 1987. It was never the same ever since. Still big respect.
Mark Redfern It is good, but Viv's best work is with Dio hands down. Rainbow in the Dark, Holy Diver, Stand Up And Shout, Don't Talk To Strangers, I Speed At Night, We Rock, The Last In Line, Eat Your Heart Out, Mystery, King Of Rock 'n' Roll, legendary.
I agree with you, Josh. However, I do see his work in Def Leppard as revealing another side of his playing - a more restrained precision (not to mention what he adds to the band vocally). But, to your point, no debating that his work in Dio is exceptional. Unfortunately, that kind of playing can't really be replicated in Def Leppard. They're a totally different band. I do wish they'd let him loose to shred now and again, though. ;-)
@@mdredfern2 Live you don't see it much, but Viv's playing on all the stuff Slang and onward lets him really show what he can do while still sounding like he's in Def Leppard. The song 'Go' has a solo from each of them back to back and it's pretty cool.
Phil worked hard on developing his singing voice to a strong level so he can help Joe with the vocals that are too high for Joe. You have to realize it's not about a lead singer's age, it's about the immense physical strain his vocal chords and have endured for over 40 years. And even when there were years between Hysteria, that ENTIRE TIME they were in the studio working. So at times his vocal chords become stressed and develop polyps, AND if he doesn't give them a rest, the polyps will become larger and RIP the chords. Blisters can even occur. Joe's voice is AMAZING!!!
@@starwarzfan71 dude's been through hell and back since his accident and still managed to man the fuck up and continue, now that's dedication and passion.
Wickedvoid96 that’s what makes him inspirational he practically lost his ability to do his passion and instead of wallowing over the loss of his arm he created a drum set to work for him
Its sad, but its motivation to enjoy what we have now instead of potentially taking it for granted (its cool that lot of good stuff from the past can be accessed online). Btw please don't take Our Lord's Name in vain. PEACE!
Hello def leppard and fans around the world! I just want to say this BAND made the best rock and roll SONGS really sounds great and I FEEL THE SAME WHEN I HEAR YOU DEF LEPPARD IN MY HEART EVERYDAY BEST ROCK AND ROLL SONG EVER
Guys don't complain of course Joe won't have the power in his voice, now he's just using falsetto which has less power but the notes are those plus he sings better than 90% of the singers from his time
Wow, great sound and great vocals. I know it would have to be like walking a high-wire with those high vocals parts each night. I'm not just talking about Joe. That entire band sings great, and they shoot for amazing high harmonies. Hey, if something cracks, no big deal, everyone grins, and the audience does too, and just appreciates the effort. Because, everyone understands what a challenge those kind of vocals are for every member of the group. I think that is one of the things that makes their concerts so great. I always thought that they were one of the most talented groups out there. -Have been one of my favorites since high school, and wow, that was in the eighties. Great concert.
Yeah, been a fan since we were all kids, in the 70's. Joe still kicks ASS! GOD did good....creating the perfection of MUTT LANG with ACDC (bon scott) and DEF LEPPARD. Some of the best ROCK STARS for sure....
Don't go to a concert expecting them to sing like they did 30+ years ago. I made that mistake and put myself in check. I learned to appreciate it for what it is today. I'm just thankful they're still rockin' their (and our) asses off in their 60's!
I'd give my left arm to play as good as Rick Allen on the drums!!! Rick is proof that you can do anything if you set your mind to it! Rick, YOU ROCK!!!! 😎
I saw Def Leppard back in 1983 with the original guitar players, Pete and Steve. They were a band of young hungry kids that rocked. Still listen to them but I like the old Leppard best, before Pyromania. Before they turned into radio hit rockers.
Sorprendentemente como se le ha deteriorado la voz a este vocalista de tan majestuosa banda de los.80" q aun sigue retumbando nuestros corazones y cabezas con emblematicos temas...
Guys, I will not stop asking everywhere I can, please make available your discography in Spotify Brazil, we, brazilian fans want to listen to Def Leppard!!
Christian Leonardo As much as I would like all of their music on I tunes, spotify, google, deezer, etc. It is still not possible until Def Leppard and Mercury/Universal comes to agreement on digital sales. This is probably why this concert still isn't on iTunes, spotify, etc, because this concert was released by Eagle Rock/Universal. It's odd though that they released this Concert through them, but they can't come to an agreement on digital sale's. Hope this helps.
Javier Ya, I'm hoping their will be a day they do that, but with Steve dead, and Pete Willis no longer in the band, it won't be easy to recreate that sound.
Dear sweet Joe..I'm so glad you healed and took time to develop your vocal health it's all about balance and honoring when you need to rest it's so important and it's FUCKING BEAUTIFUL to see n hear your growth from you newfound commitment to your craft..IM SO INSPIRED THANK YOU✨💥🐆🌹🌻
Joe, hottie, u still got it!! I loved you then, and still love you now! Of course, as a band group. Back then I had such a huge crush on you that my back then boyfriend looked like you!!! Great job guys! Def Leopard rocks!!!!!
This band is in great shape and they are fabulous. I miss steve and willis like any real fan does but phil is an amazing player and the shape the man is in! Vivian iz an insane player. Joe still sounds great savage is still savage and awesome. The thunder god is still the man. God love em they rock man!!!
That song! Joe's voice....boy does this take me back. This is the song I listened to so many years ago and was getting wasted to, dancing to, or kissing on the boys!!
Dude loves the gym and there is zero question he guards what he eats like a HOF Goalie lol I looked like that when I was in my 30's but I only weighed like 135 LOL
Da7kside LXVII, you're absolutely right, it brings tears to my eyes...they are always played because of the obvious fact: they were and always will be the best. And it truly makes me imagine him watching from above and finally believing in himself, how talented he was, how immense and important his contributions were, how HE was acknowledged by Joe as the one who made the turning point to success because he had a very UNIQUE SOUND that no one had ever heard before. It was different...at a time where all the songs from other bands simply used riffs by inserting them as show-off extras, Steve went with the old concept of making the riffs a real part of the song. Steve never used riffs and solos as "flashy accessories" for lead guitarists to show-off. He composed the songs the riffs and solos as a unique way in which to compliment the entire song. He was a humble man, and his compositions reflected that.

Don’t forget the 70’s
3:05 - Vivian's solo is killer. It channels Steve and does justice to his original, but with Viv's own inimitable touch. Respect.

Agree with both of you
Orignal solo is so emotional, and Vivian put a little bit more accent on it. I love them both (Steve and Vivian ) :)

They still sound amazing after 40 years, love these guys
Fabrizia hell, yeah my friend
Def Leppard has never sounded better
I hate that Steve "Steamin'" Clark had to leave us...but I am soooo glad that Vivian Campbell is here to carry on!
Viv is a million times better than Phil. What a shame he plays back up.
@@marioa.8131 I disagree
Campbell is amazing
He’s terrible it makes me sad seeing him play this song, the round in your face with Steve is the best. I will hate Vivian as long as I live

Megan Bordenave Well said✌️
Yeah its amazing how they pull it off, in some cases, better than in the 80s. But the high parts are supported by Viv and Sav and the low end by Phil.
Rob Halford shakes his head at your comment.
well said, very true.
That’s what Vivian Campbell was brought in for. Vivian sings highest, followed by Savage. Phil is raspy
This is one of my favorite songs by Def Leppard! They are past, present and future the Best band ever! I just Love them!❤️💋
This is best live. The other one is Mirror Mirror.
My all time fave Leppard song. I used to love how seemlessly Steve and Phil would swap lead/rhythm guitar. These guys still rock!
They sound very good live
See these guys 15 times in concert, last year, finally got my *Meet & Greet* with them. Never forget that....
Did you rob a leprechaun or something to afford that btw what was it like meeting one hell of an inspirational person like rick allen

Fortunately the backing vocals help in the chorus (like they are supposed to, even in the studio version). And this band's still awesome!
Actually we (latter generation) are so fortunate that they are still around to give us what was real music back then
how could anyone complain 40+ years they are still effing amazing!!!!!!! shut up and turn it pass 10!!!!!!!!
@@endlessphotography3548 Amen to that! They are and always will be an amazing band!!!
I'm impressed by Joe's voice, many of his peers can't deliver as well as this. Keep in mind these vocals are high register. Good on Joe.
Joe sounds amazing! 🎤❤
And even if he screeched like a barn owl-idgaf- it’s freakin rock legends DEF LEPPARD 🤘🎸🎤🇬🇧❤

they're playing the song a half step low, making it easier to sing....Abm instead of the original in Am. Shame. My favorite tune of theirs.
Joe has such a crystal clear voice.
Def Leppard sounding amazing as always
THE BEST OF DEF LEPPARD
