I’ve just recently picked up the S5IIX and have been trying to learn more about the photography settings. Started with a GH6 for video. This video really impressed me with the capabilities of the S5II, and gave me hope for learning this skill. Fantastic work!
@@fortemkegreat videos loving all the tips and advice. I’m looking at the S1 but a little concerned about the AF ! Have you any experience with it at all ? I’m still shooting Nikon D800 and wanting to make the mirrorless move.
Great directions to bridal party and the couple. Any reason you did not take advantage of the folder hour around the 18:00 min mark? From the BTS video we see that sun was setting but pics looked like during the day. Just courteous. Well done.
Those are some fabulous photos. I did not know panasonic is in the game now. Can you tell me how AF works in low light? S5ii is very tempting to pick as main system for hybrid wedding photographer. How is the buffer clearance after burst of photos? Will it let me to switch from photo to video instantly? Thanks for great content.
This was such an informative video, thank you so much for letting us follow you around for a wedding day! I'd love to know where you got the battery grip for your s5ii? And that camera strap as well, that thing looks so handy!
Amazing photos .. Love it ... color grading is phenomenal ... tell us a little bit about the filters or color grading you have done. Do you sell the LR filters?
Great Video. Great BTS!!! Very interesting, how you manage and lead those shootings and pictures. How do you edit your pics, because they got that certain great look. We allready know, you use the pictureprofile "standard" (RAW?), but what happens in Photoshop/Lightroom or whatever editing-software you use afterwards. That would be a great BTS or tutorial, too 😊
Thank you!! My editing is actually fairly simple! Most of the look comes from positioning the light source in the right spot. I'm sure we'll do an editing video down the road!
Lol it made me laugh when you said you were nervous shooting with only 24 mp. I mean that was pretty normal for all cameras just a few years ago...:) Its still plenty of megapixels. I see people using canon r6 and its only got 20mp. :)
@@fortemke can you answer me another question please? What’s a good computer that I can get that can handle video editing because right now my Mac will not play footage that I shoot in 6k … it shows the video but it plays as if it’s lagging and I’m not sure if that’s due to the codec or something else … do mind my Mac is kind of old
I'm currently using a Panasonic S1H for video. I have requests from clients to take photos of their wedding but I cannot trust the S1H. So I would like to upgrade to the S5 IIX but I'm afraid the autofocus will miss photos. Have you ever encountered any problems with the S5IIX's autofocus? I have the impression that a lot of people on RUclips no longer use their S5 because they don't trust the autofocus..
Sometimes i wonder if the wedding video / stills shoot process is overpowering the ambience of the event itself. I actively advise my clients that if they need 2 shooters its really only required for the Ceremony. I would consider cutting down to 1 video and 1 stills shooter. I never do lights on the dance floor - it just wrecks the ambience. Some brides and grooms like all the ra ra- but I think a more sympathetic ambient approach suits most weddings. Its always a balance to know when to direct and when to stay in the background.

Great BTS as always! You are keeping it classy, and the direction you give is top notch

mi pregunta es, que tal desempeño tiene la Lumix S5II?
obvio que por lo visto es un buena cámara.
judging by the focus beeps you're using AF-S most of the time?
Bro one question, how do u manage the auto exposure screen when using flash on the lumix?
THIS IS THE POWER OF 35mm

What af setting do you use throughout the day.
Just a quick one, are the photos you show us the same ones you deliver to your clients???
Hey Matt love love the photos! I am S5ii wedding photographer and I love your look. Love the colors. Are you using luts/presets? Are you selling them?
